Brashley Vineyards Tasting Room and Winery Winery •
7000 CA-128, Philo - 7.39 miles

“I rolled in with friends for a Harvest Hosts overnight and met Sean inside the tasting room; he walked us out and pointed to several places we could set up. As in my photos, the field is wide open with shaded edges under big oaks and views of the Mendocino hills along Highway 128. Plenty of space to spread out without crowding other rigs. I was able to run the generator for AC during the warm afternoon, and once the sun dipped the air cooled off nicely, so the AC—and the generator—got a break.

Inside, the tasting felt easy and unhurried. Sean poured a thoughtful lineup that fits the area—Anderson Valley is tucked between the redwoods and the coast and leans toward cooler-climate styles. The surprise for me was their Dry Riesling; it’s the first dry Riesling I’ve genuinely liked, enough that I took home three bottles while my friends grabbed a case. The fresh-baked sourdough he handed us (that big round loaf in the photo) was crackly, and absolutely dangerous with butter.

Fair note for RVers: this is true dry camping—no power or water—so come self-sufficient and expect a basic field, not hookups. The afternoon heat can nudge you to run the generator, but evenings settle into that quiet country cool that makes sleeping easy.

I’d happily return for the relaxed vibe, welcoming staff, and simple, spacious overnight. Great fit for self-contained RV travelers who enjoy low-key tastings.“

“One of best tasting rooms I’ve ever visited. Aside from really good sparkling wines (there are many here), the fun staff and lovely setting are fabulous. Check out the (free) memberships, where in addition to covering your tasting (up to 4 people) you get 20% off case of 6 + only $20 shipping (mine went to NY). Plus retail prices here 50% lower than in local grocery stores. Membership covers Roederer also, so if you’re in the area tasting this is a must visit.“

“Goldeneye and Duckhorn hands down provide the best wine tasting experience of any winery that i've ever been to. And I've been to my share of them..

The wines are excellent, yes. But what really impresses me is the attention to detail on the wine tasting experience itself. They start you off with a glass at the door. Separate glasses for each wine that you'll be tasting all poured in advance so you can compare them at your discretion. A descriptive printout. Water. Some basic accompaniments. Laid out perfectly. And of course the terrific facilities with shade, nice views, great bathrooms, etc..

Then add to that if you order any of their other accompaniments how tasty and perfectly presented they are. It really is excellent and a very tasty first class experience.

The staff is incredible knowledgeable and warm. No pressure. No rushing you.

Just a great experience start to finish. Thank you to everyone there! We've been to both properties multiple times and I always come away impressed.“

Greenwood Ridge Vineyards Winery •
5501 CA-128, Philo - 8.79 miles

“This is a very relaxed winery. We really enjoyed our wine guides, Angel and Rainbow. We loved the experience and wines so much that we attempted to change our travel plans to stay the night. The guides did their best to help us find lodging nearby. The wines in the valley tend to be lighter— perfect for summer sipping. We particularly enjoyed the the Zin and were delightfully surprised by the rose of Pinot.

Now that we have discovered the Alexander Valley and the lovely wines at Geeenwood, we will definitely book lodging in the Valley and plan a trip for several days.“

“Stipped by on a whim, and I'm glad we did. Comfortable and welcoming tasting room. We had a great wine experience with our host, Owen, who led us through all their lovely bordeaux varietals. The wines surprisingly lovely we wonderful expressions of each varietal. Walked away with a white blend (sauv blan + semillon) and a merlot, but honestly, I would have been happy with any of the bottles. I suppose that means we'll have to go back for more soon.“

“The winemaker served us 5 wines for $25. He gave us fresh popcorn to go with our wines. There were 3 Pinot Noir wines, all good plus a decent Zinfandel. Usually make notes but there wasn't a list provided. A bit pricey. Overall there was a good atmosphere, but would like to see more incentive to sell us a bottle or 2!“
