“Visitng town and family recommended The Forester for dinner. From them, I found out the history of the Past and Present of the restaurant. The old location, the new and still shifting into full gear in some parts. Noting they are getting the flow going, sometimes felt a little hectic, but there were so many redeeming points. My favorite was having a small conversation with Helen after dinner. Bill she mentioned you as well! I had the Jagersnitzel w Kraut and Dumpling w Gravy. If you've experienced true German food before. You can appreciate this food greatly. The dumpling was spectacular, the pork was juicy while breading was soaking in the greatness from the mushroom gravy. We only visit a couple times of year and will make this a staple. Bill & Helen, keep on doing what youre doing. Its hard to run a business, let alone make one feel like home with good food."Showing love from Southern California ?"“
“Food is fantastic. My husband and I had the clam strips and the cod and it was what we were hoping for. The breading on the cod was nice and crisp, at so many places we’ve gone to, it gets soggy so fast. This was wonderful. My husband is not a white fish fan and he loved the cod. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was very calm and nice. We loved watching hunt deadliest catch, brought back memories. I grew up eating fish and chips in Ireland and it felt like home. Thank you! Highly recommend.“
“Had dinner there tonight - the first time we've been there since it was remodeled. I think it was closed for well more than a year. The food was great and the service was outstanding. It is primarily a steakhouse, but has a good selection of seafood and pasta as well. The bar looks really nice, too. I only gave it four stars for atmosphere because the open fireplace (which is a very cool thing in winter) was giving off some smoke. We will definitely go back now that we have tried it.“
“We came as a party of 13 people, so slow service makes sense, but still felt like it was a bit too slow. We waited more than 30 mins for our first dish to arrive. However, all of the food was very flavorful and heavy on the seasonings, so keep a glass of water by your side. Other than that, fantastic food, servers were very kind, just a bit questionable on the wait time.“
“First time at this location after frequenting the Valley Ford location for years. It did not disappoint! Incredible value with half priced oysters on Monday. Fantastic cocktails, friendly service, and the tastiest food. Got the Louisiana hot oysters, shrimp tacos and fried chicken. Everything was perfect!“
“I love this place, I really do, but I'm from Monterey and I guess my standards for seafood are high, but this place is pretty good for being so far from tbe ocean. So 4 stars for not warming the bread and the service can be iffy. I still love going here, I don't really eat carbs anyway. Lol The patio is really cool with the creek running under and u can bring your dogs!“
“Great place to stop for lunch and a brew (or soda). They also now serve breakfast! Pulled pork was good, lots of tasty fries. Portions were generous. Food is Hawaii themed. I will visit again. If you are exploring Apple Hill / Camino, it is awesome.“
