“We stumbled upon China Delight and were pleasantly surprised at the great meal we had. We ordered the sauteed green beans, half duck, fried rice and cashew chicken. Everything was quite good and the green beans and duck were especially good. My dad said they were the best green beans he has ever had (he is still talking about them). Friendly service and overall a good night of getting Chinese food with family.“
“We were greeted by our friendly server. She was helpful in noting my shellfish allergy and providing recommendations. We were pleasantly surprised when an unexpected appetizer of sesame balls and tofu vegetable tempura were delivered to our table. We were told that Helen , (we believed to be the owner/chef) likes to gift customers appetizers on the house. It was amazing. The free appetizer was amazing, the egg custard was delicious (A MUST), and so was our entree. The restaurant is cozy, intimate and really fun to interact with Helen to give our compliments to her.We also noticed several regulars came in so we knew the food was gonna SMACK.Great service and even better food. This is our new favorite restaurant whenever we are in town.1000000/10. This restaurant is decorated in awards and let me tell you it is well deserved.Thank you, Helen for the great food!Dietary restrictions: helpful with allergy restrictions!“
“Annie's House is the best Chinese food in the Monterey peninsula area! The locally-owned restaurant has delicious food, superb service, and a great atmosphere. The owner, Annie (presumably), does a phenomenal job at making everyone want to come back for more! She provides wonderful hospitality and is incredibly kind and generous.I have gotten the Kung Pao Chicken and the Szechuan Chili Beef here, both with Fried Rice and Chow Mein. From what I can ascertain from those two dishes, it's hard to go wrong! Plus, it's quite affordable with the combination plates coming out to just $13.50 before tax. COME HERE!!!Vegetarian options: While limited, Annie's House does offer a number of vegetarian options. I don't know which options are vegan, but I'm sure they'd be able to find something for you!Parking: There are three parking spots in the tiny parking lot, as well as whatever street parking is available. I've never had trouble finding a spot but I know some who have.“
“Stopped by this little gem today while running errands. Don’t get me wrong, food was absolutely delicious, and quick, but the real reason for this review was a man named Tony who works here. Tony seemed to be a 1 man show for the most part outside of a gentleman helping clean and re set tables .This guy is seating people, taking orders, dropping off food, making change, answering phone calls, taking to go orders, and all while keeping mellow, thoughtful responses to questions on the menu. Seriously I don’t know what you are paying this guy, but give him a raise, for real! Feed the horse!“
“A friend and I decided to go to the Great Wall as it was suggested by a local in the area. I must say I was very impressed with the quality and flavor of their food. Every dish was amazing. The menu has endless options to choose from. We ordered the spare ribs, Mongolian beef/steamed rice, fried rice, and chicken wings for dinner, crab wontons, egg rolls, shrimp and potstickers for appetizers. Omg everything was just so delicious. These people know what they are doing! If you’re looking for good mandarin cuisine in the area this will be your go-to!“
“Just ordered the BBQ PORK fried rice and a small wonton soup while visiting in town for the weekend as a late night goodie. It was definitely a 10/10.The rice had a great savory sesame flavor. When you add the veggies and meat to the bite, it adds a little sweetness giving it the perfect fried rice flavor. The won ton soup was perfectly salted and had some shrimp, chicken, couple bbq pork slices, bokchoy and, of course, a couple wonton. ? yum! I was sipping the broth, it was so good!Once again, 10/10, would order again.“
“Haven’t had good green lip mussels in a long time. Here these were excellent with Cajun spice…medium spicy so as to not overpower the mussels. There is so much on the menu I want to try ( Australian lobster tail..difficult to find elsewhere), the clams and the Chinese dishes offered. Don’t drive by this place. Stop in and eat. You will likely love it.“
“Lunch special is about $10-$12 per portion. It is a staple dish with white rice. You can also upgrade to fried rice for an additional price. The Kung Pao Chicken and Garlic Chicken are pretty good, but the sweet and sour chicken has a thicker coating.“
“Clean space, no frills decorations, because this place is all about the food! Been ordering delivery from here for years and finally stopped by and checked it out.The reason I came by is because the price difference between the website and what I was quoted was off . Turns out their menu on their website needs to updated. We let the staff know, hopefully they update soon so I can change my review to five stars! We love this place!“
“Made our way here while trying to find a place that was open between lunch and dinner service. The service was actually very attentive and nice even though our waiter sounded a little gruff at first. The sheer number of options on the menu was very impressive. We got a few different things to try and every was cooked well and properly seasoned. The crispy rice soup really hit the spot today with the gloomy weather. There was also a lot of vegetarian options for those looking for that. The slightly higher cost is justified by the big portions. We would not hesitate to stop by again!Vegetarian options: Large vegetarian menu with veggies and tofu“
“So my family and I live less than a mile from this place and have eaten here with the previous owners as well as the current for years and years. We eat here about once a month and have honestly never had a bad experience. Not sure how they've had so many bad reviews because I love the new owners. We do stick to the same items though so I can only attest to the greatness of what we order. Our go to items are -any kind of chow mein, salt and pepper pork chop or chicken, sweet and sour pork, broccoli/oyster sauce beef, and we do enjoy their honey walnut shrimp as well. Have yet to try their crab boil stuff but maybe one day!“
“This place has been around for 45 plus years and the interiors are as good as the service and food. They prepared a fully vegetarian meal for us with lots of assorted vegetables and the portions were huge. The staff were very courteous and accommodative to food requirements and the lady owner at the front desk was very kind. I highly recommend this place as great option for vegetarians.Vegetarian options: Assorted vegetables in black bean sauce, sizzling rice soup, veggie chow fun with flat noodles and bean sprouts“
“We were craving some Asian food during our stay in town and I'm glad we found this place. The food tasted fresh and delicious, service was spot on. My favorite dish was walnut shrimp and salt pepper fish. Portions were surprisingly big too. This place exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend it.“
“Great food, great service. I couldn't ask for anything else. I tip for service not quality food. The service was worth giving a tip is like they new what I needed before I needed any condiments refill. I'm a customer for sure. Thank you China Garden & staff .“
“Solid hole-in-the-wall, which I didn't really expect to find in Carmel. Good portions for the lunch we had, and generally pretty flavorful! The spicy stuff could stand to be spicier, and I would have liked some stronger flavored options, but I'm mostly nitpicking here. The service was absurdly quick too!Come here if you're in a hurry or if you just want a solid choice that won't break the bank“
