Place is usually empty. So with an empty restaurant the prices are high for take out. They pay too much for the unused space and charge you in the food. It's been a staple for over 40 years so I support it. Be ready to drop over $50 for a 2 person meal.“

“Hadn’t been here in years but under new ownership.Had the special chow fun and General Tso chicken; both were wonderful. It’s been a week and I’m back. This is the best Chinese restaurant we’ve found in Santa Cruz County.Today we had walnut prawns and Mongolian beef. The waitress remembered me from last week and had the chef make the prawns spicy for me.

“Four of us had a wonderful lunch of garlic green beans, crystal Szechuan prawn, pork chow mein, Four Streams tofu, mushu pork, and Szechuan boiled beef plus rice and tea. The menu boasts a great variety of traditional Chinese dishes, and the chef does a terrific job of making each dish taste homemade. I especially liked the green beans, prawns, and mushu pork. Besides the excellent food, the restaurant is decorated with lovely paintings by a relative that keep drawing your attention away from the food! I’ll definitely go back“

“I never write reviews, so you gotta know this is special! I was searching for Chinese food near me and this restaurant was on the list. I am VERY picky about my Chinese food, so I decided to look at some of the reviews. I saw that people wrote about the food being great, which is what I was looking for. But some were saying that the service was not so great and I didn’t find that to be the case at all! The young person at the counter was very attentive and polite, and made recommendations of their favorites when asked. They were super sweet actually! And the food indeed was amazing. I absolutely recommend this little hole in the wall! The orange chicken was tender and delicious. And the pork fried rice is the best I’ve had in a very long time. The one and only suggestion that I would make is to add more gravy to the egg foo young. I will most definitely be back!“

“They are the best Chinese restaurant in town. Very friendly staff and amazing cook. We had some rockfish freshly caught and they did an amazing job preparing them to 3 different delicious meals including tofu fish soup, spicy fish filet in chili oil, and steamed fish. The price is very seasonable. The cook even came out to us to communicate the flavor preferences which made us feel welcomed and valued. Overall 10 star experience we recommend any fishermen to take their catch here and be surprised how good they can taste!“

“The food was very good. My 8 and 14 year old ate until they had their fill. They serve family style so they are big portions for a family of 4-6 to share. We got a rice dish, noodle dish and 2 chicken with vegetables dishes but different flavors. We had to take some home.

Parking: It is behind the restaurant.

Kid-friendliness: The waiter is friendly and patient. The cook is also friendly, especially when my son greeted her. Serve family style dishes.“

“I usually don’t leave reviews (this is my first one) but my friends and I were looking for a place in Santa Cruz to get some good Chinese food and I’m so glad we came to this place! It’s a convenient location right next to a parking garage so you don’t have to waste time to look for parking and it’s honestly a well kept, clean, family restaurant. The food portions are huge so it’s definitely worth it for sure! I ordered the shrimp fried rice and they definitely did not skimp with the shrimp like a lot of other places would. If you want bomb authentic Chinese food in Santa Cruz this is definitely the place to go! If I hadn’t devoured the teriyaki beef I ordered I would’ve uploaded a picture but overall would definitely come back here if I’m in the area! They have great customer service and were quick to make our takeout order which is really nice. Highly recommend for sure!!“

“Tim's is a wonderful family-run Chinese restaurant. Mostly geared for take-out; there are two tables inside and a few outside as well. Very quickly, you are a "known" customer: your favorite items on the menu, that is. Combos are very affordable. Constantly rotating supply at the front of the items ordered most-frequently. Made-to-order always available, too. Gracious, generous family who truly know and care about their customers. Chicken with green beans is my favorite. My son loves the shrimp and the chow mein. Recommended!“
