The wife is front of house, the husband is chef. Their lunch specials are good: you get an eggroll, choice of rice/fried rice, and the main entree. I specifically came in to get their combo sizzling rice soup and am always happy to hear the crackling when the soup arrives. The lemon chicken is so delicious, I didn't think I was hungry enough to finish it but it's so tasty. Will be coming back any time I am in the area.“

“The best Chinese food that I've had in the area with high quality ingredients and expert preparation. The white meat Tangerine Chicken was surprisingly tender, delicious and crispy, the Mongolia beef also tender with broccoli that was not overcooked and mushy like many, the Salt & Pepper tofu perfectly cooked with a nice crunch. The Walnut Prawns plump and perfectiy cooked with a not too sweet sauce. The pot stickers were superb, with thin wrapping unlike many that are thick and gummy, and the filling high quality and very tasty. Had it all delivered and it was very fast.“

“Very much comfort food! I ordered the yellow braised chicken (bone-in) for lunch. It came with a bowl of rice. The chicken is very tender, and the bones were mostly easy to remove. “The high reviews caught my eye. One thing to note is that the food though delicious was a bit too salty. We ordered like 7 dishes to share with 7 people family style but half of the dishes were just way too salty, even for my tastes when I personally enjoy heavily-salted foods. It could be a one-off but I also submitted this review for the free desserts (which is very nice and not too sweet).

Aside from that I would definitely give this restaurant a try again in the future if I hear that their salt levels were better balanced and accounted for.“

“I got the normal broth, medium spicy, and it was very flavorful, not too spicy. Only thing is the beef shrinks a lot in size after it’s cooked so keep that in mind when filling your bowl. It’s a bit pricy, I paid about $30 for my bowl, however it was a large portion“

Mongolian Wagyu beef

The food was amazing, as always. Everything tasted fresh and absolutely delicious! My favorite dish is Shanghai crab roe noodles, rich, creamy, and always packed with flavor. I also fell in love with the crab roe fried rice, even though it was my first time trying it. The Mongolian Wagyu beef was tender and perfectly seasoned. The crab roe & pork soup dumplings arrived hot, comforting, and full of flavor as well.

The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food, and the service is always a 10/10. Our dishes started arriving less than 5 minutes after we placed our order, which was impressive.

This continues to be my forever favorite restaurant at Westfield Valley Fair, and I’ll definitely keep coming back.“

“I had never been to a noodle house but my son brought me here. I was pleasantly surprised by his noodle dish. I've never been a at noodle fan but the noodles were so flavorful. I couldn't put my finger on it but it was so good!! Not too spicy, perfect blend of spices. I had the beef chow mein and it was absolutely perfect if you are craving chow mein. We are every last bit of everything.“

“We ordered the stir-fried hand-pulled noodles, beef chow mein, garlic naan, grilled lamb chops, lamb skewers, and baked buns.

As someone from Henan, I thought the stir-fried hand-pulled noodles tasted somewhat similar to the style back home, and overall it was probably the best dish we had this time. The garlic naan was decent, and the lamb skewers were also okay.

However, the grilled lamb chops were disappointing. The meat was way too tough and almost impossible to chew. After we mentioned it to the staff, they kindly removed the dish from our bill, which I appreciated.

Later, we also ordered beef chow mein and baked buns. The beef chow mein was pretty average. As for the baked buns, it did seem like there was more meat filling than before, but the flavor was different from what I remembered. They weren’t as fragrant, didn’t have much juice inside, and overall tasted a bit dry, so they weren’t really to my taste.

Overall, the food here feels different from when the restaurant first opened, and I’m not sure if the chef has changed. Based on the dishes I tried this time, I’d say the stir-fried hand-pulled noodles are still worth trying, but I’d be cautious about ordering the other dishes. I also visited the Mountain View location for lunch, but personally I wouldn’t recommend that one either, since they didn’t have stir-fried noodle dishes and only offered soup noodles.“

They still have the traditional carts roaming around the dining room with delicious choices. We liked that the classic dimsum fare was still being served and they do not scrimp on portions, unlike many dimsum places in Millbrae and Daly City. The shu mai was juicy and large, as were the shiu bao. The tofu skin wrap had a lot of filling instead of several layers of tofu skin. The ham suy ko was plump and crisp on the outside but chewing on the inside with a good amount of filling. We came for a late lunch but they were still full. “We live in Fresno and make the three-hour drive here every month just for the food! We run a restaurant ourselves, so we’re pretty picky, but Hunan Impression’s Hunan and Sichuan dishes are truly authentic.
What we love most is that every spicy dish has its own distinct flavor. Some places rely so heavily on chili powder that everything tastes the same, but here you can really taste the different seasonings and ingredients in each dish.
