20 Best Seafood Restaurants in Carmel By The Sea

“We ate one of the best meals of our lives here a year ago on our honeymoon. So remarkable I’m leaving this review a year later! I remember being greeted so warmly by the woman I believe is the owner. We were given complementary dessert and a champagne toast, too. This is a restaurant that lives up to its Michelin star(s)?“

“Went for date night and split 3 apps and a stone pot with seafood and veggies. Ordered the pan fried oysters which were unfortunately not my favorite item because I found them to be a bit bland. We also ordered the shrimp tempura with veggies which was delicious. The last app was the coconut curry soup (not pictured) which was my favorite of the 3 apps. It was slightly spicy and very tasty. The stone pot was delicious and we ate the whole thing. The clams and mussels were just a bit overcooked. Service was very good.“

“We had some fresh fish from here. Was hoping for the most epic selection of LOCAL fish. The most recommended items were the Alaskan halibut and king salmon. We came away with the Alaskan halibut and the local sea bass. Both were fantastic.

A little confusion over a couple of things. The selection is mostly not local. All fresh. But there were probably a handful of things that were local. And then, there wasn’t anything clear about dining options. So my understanding might be fuzzy, but it looks like 1) one price for takeaway, 2) a different price for takeaway but they cook it, and a 3) price for dine in. We thought we could buy it for takeaway and have them cook it. But when we decided at the last moment to have a seat at a table, the waiter looked so confused as to why we wanted to sit. He responded with something like, “service price”. He also said different menu. Wish someone was able to explain that when we arrived.“

“Celebratory engagement dinner for my son & now fiancé. The restaurant is small, but they accommodated our party of 22. They reserved the back portion of the restaurant for us. The service was 10/10, had a set menu due to the size of our party, but there was something on the menu for everyone. The owner came around 2-3 times & introduced himself, asked if everything was ok or if we needed anything & thanked us for choosing his restaurant. We cannot thank the owner & his staff for everything they did to help make this such a memorable dinner.“

“Through no fault of Flaherty's...it was so loud! (There were 3 people at the bar having a very good time. We were seated right behind them.) Next time we'll request outside seating. Salmon & artichoke pasta was good, just needed some salt. The fish & chips were excellent.“

“Absolutely fantastic restaurant and a breath of fresh air in the Carmel culinary community. The food was incredible and the service was top notch. The space is refreshingly chic and relaxing. The tables are spaced apart to allow for conversation and there's no rush to finish your meal. You are encouraged to linger and enjoy the best meal in Carmel!“

“From the prompt service to the delicious food, this was a terrific experience. Our server, Mark, went out of his way to make sure we were well taken care of. He even let me sample some different wines to make sure I got something I was happy with. The oysters were delicious, as was everything else we had. It was also one of the more affordable meals I’ve had in Carmel. Definitely recommend!“

“For hotel breakfast places, this is one of the best I've been too. Preparation is like a standalone restaurant than hotel dining. Portions are med/large, and coffee is dark brewed. View of the small pond adds to the dining experience. Highly recommend eating here, prices are fairly reasonable.“

“This is a Real Gem a few tables, clean, nicely decorated, the food is always fresh and sources from great places, seasonal, from appetizer to main course Amir and his team are very attentive, friendly and patient. Nice wine list, the home baked bread is so tempting you can't stop eating. The meat and seafood is so fresh and cooked to perfection. A locals secret place always a pleasure to return“

“We were visiting Carmel on Monday forgot the kids foods so we found China Delight. I ordered my foods didn't wait long. I told the waiter that I forgot my kids foods and we saw their restaurant and give a try. The waiter asked me if I wanted utensils and I said Yes, please!. I love how he knw how to take care a customer. I didn't think of asking cuz I were in a hurry to go. So I will give 5 stars to the waiter for his outstanding service.“

“Great restaurant a few streets away from the centre of Carmel. We stopped for brunch before continuing along the PCH. The food was delicious. We had a fried chicken burger and the huevos rancheros.

They even give you a slice of crispy bacon with your Bloody Mary! I didn't know this was an option but I fully support it.“
