“A place where I could soothe my stomach with Korean food when I felt tired of American food.
There is a 90 minute time limit
You can freely order from the menu during any given time. However, the menu may be limited depending on the type of set requested.
While we were eating, we had birthday parties at 4 tables (including ours haha).
You can hear Kpop and taste a variety of meats in a lively atmosphere.
The waiting line may be long during meal times, so be sure to make a reservation before visiting.“

“Hanshin Pocha opening in Rowland means I no longer have to drive all the way to K-Town when I’m craving Korean bar food. I’ve been to the original location many times, so I’m really glad they expanded.
For me, the must-orders are the spicy squid and the cheese hot plates. The rice was fun to mix and tasted decent, nothing mind-blowing but still satisfying.
The fried chicken was just okay — a little on the dry side IMO— but still makes for a solid bite, especially when you’re drinking. I also really appreciate that their beer mugs come pre-chilled. It's the little things.
Overall, a fun and casual late-night spot that brings the K-Town vibe to the SGV. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!“

“When driving from LA to San Diego, it’s always a toss up to find good food, that’s a reasonable price and also near the freeway. This place checked all the boxes. If you’re between the CT sandwich and the kimchi get the kimchi. It’s not super spicy but it’s not as sweet as the CT“

“GREAT food!!!! They're fairly new, so I hope they don't compromise on flavor later down the line. First, I had their small chicken katsu box. The second time, I had their new sweet chili shrimp katsu, and that was even better!!!!! Employees are always so friendly and for the quality of the food the price and turnaround time is worth it. Highly recommend“

“I am a first-generation Korean who visits Korea often. This place has become our go-to spot for Korean food (my husband who is 5th generation Californian).
- Tasty: Even my picky 80 years old uncle loves their food.
- Fresh ingredients: No frozen, no old ingredients
- They don't cut corners. For instance, one of favorite Korean dishes is stir-fried squid (calamari), which HamaHippo makes exceptionally well (try it with noodles if you can take gluten) - tasty and generous with the portion of squid. They close on Sunday but I needed to go out for a dinner, so I went to my former go-to Korean restaurant and ordered the same dish. Most of the dish was noodle with very little, not-well thawed squid. After visiting my former go-to Korean restaurant, I appreciate the food quality of HamaHippo even more. Another example, when you order Bibimbap, you will get variety of fresh, generous portion of vegetables.
- Super reasonable prices, especially considering how fresh the ingredients are.
Vegetarian options: I am a pescatarian. The owner says they can make any dish vegetarian-friendly, even vegan. For example, in my case, when I ordered Bibim Naeng Myun in a hot day, I asked if it was vegetarian. They usually use beef broth for the sauce but accommodated my dietary choice by bringing the beef broth separately, which my friend enjoyed. The dish was delicious.“

“Food: 4*

Ambiance: 5*
Stopped by here with a colleague. We ordered the $19.99 lunch special. He offered to give us a mix of all the different meats on this menu so we could try them. There are specific ban chan you can get like Kimchee, fish cake, potato salad etc. The service was great, very attentive, helpful and friendly. I will return with a larger appetite.“

“I came here on a rainy Saturday night needing something to warm my belly and I did not leave disappointed. The restaurant we wasn't too busy on Saturday but that's good for me since I hate waiting outside for anything longer than 20 mins for food. Got the neck bone OG gamja-tang and it came with plenty of meat on the bones, rice and some classic side dishes. The soup itself was tasty and just spicy enough. The meat was tender and fulfilling. Service was solid and everything was chill. Plus they had the dodgers on which is a good sign in my book. No frills or thrills here, just a good meal at a solid spot in a plaza I rarely frequent. However I'll be back to try their bossam or their cold noodle dishes when the weather warms up.“

“I came to hungry bull dog restaurant in diamond bar and it was soo good. I ordered a few dishes like the k style corn dog with pepper jack cheese and sausage, katsu with side of curry, bulgogi beef bulldog bowl, and lastly.. the kimchi fried rice. It was so much food and I loved eating inside their cute restaurant.“
“tasty!
A traditional Korean family restaurant, the side dishes can have a homemade flavor that is different from other restaurants.
The food was served slowly, and there was unlimited rice for free. I ordered two extra bowls of spicy fried pork rice! Delicious and filling“

“This place has good Korean food. It's a good place to bring your family or friends. Your mother or grandmother will not complain about the food. They give large portions and the side dishes are really good. Services quick and very friendly. Not many people seem to know about this place which is kind of nice because you don't have to wait in line to get a table. There's plenty of parking in the back. Definitely I will come here again especially with my mom.“

“This lunch price is reasonable. These days, Korean food prices are way overpriced.
I went there for lunch recently for the first time in years, and the prices were the same as 7–8 years ago. The free side dishes were also delicious.
These days, dining out is so expensive that it's hard to choose a restaurant, but I think the owner made a very wise decision. When you live generously and share with others, you'll be blessed and make plenty of money.
They’ve brought back the original flavors, and the service was great too. I’ll always be happy to open my wallet for food like this. Try having a bowl of soondae soup with a shot of soju, like you see on Korean TV — it’s the true taste of Korea.
Pork soup not familiar to foreigners
Koreans often eat it and often eat it as a snack with alcohol.A clean and relatively friendly restaurant. Kimchi and Kkakdugi are delicious
It is a food very closely related to Korean culture.“

“I’ve been to this restaurant several times.
Everything I’ve tried on the menu has been delicious, and the portions are generous.
The servers are generally friendly, although the place tends to get very crowded.
I usually try to visit outside of peak dining hours to avoid the rush“

“Although the food menu is not extensive, the restaurant is famous for its delicious food. Korean hangover soup is probably the best in the OC area. It may be a very simple food, but it has a rich taste and a good feel. In Korea, having soup and a glass of soju with friends is a small culture.“

“If you have a craving for Korean Street Food that’s also Gordon Ramsey @gordongram approved, then look no further than Soonheene in the SGV. They first opened in Seoul in 1994, but have been in Arcadia, California, since 2021🫶🏼
You really do get to know a culture/country through their street food, and I find Korean food to be so rich in their layers of flavors, seasonings and taste🇰🇷
Fun Fact: I graduated from AHS🤭🦚
We had: 🥞Kimchi Mung Bean, 🥩BBQ Beef, 🦐Shrimp Fried Rice, 🍘Mayak Gimbap, 🍗Soy Garlic (10 piece wing), 🍜Spicy Cold Noodle, 🥛Sweet Rice Drink“

“I was craving Korean bbq but bowl style and this spot was nearby.
I ordered their marinated short rib bowl and I added extra proteins of spam, an egg and chicken with no rice, all salad. It was a phenomenal lunch overall. The flavor was definitely there. It was definitely pricey after I added all the extras, but still worth it.
I’d definitely come back here again to try their other menu items.“

“Taste goodThis is one of the delicious Korean food restaurants. My favorite dish in this restaurant is the young radish kimchi. The young radish kimchi and soybean paste stew that are served as side dishes and complimentary throughout the year bring me here.Personally, I find various items on their menu tasty, including kalguksu (knife-cut noodles), grilled hairtail fish, and braised hairtail fish. Today, I enjoyed the pork bossam, and I would rate it three stars. It was rich and satisfying. One thing that disappointed me was that the jjanchi guksu (banquet noodles) I ordered for takeout two weeks ago, which I thought was on the menu, turned out to be a different dish. It was more like somyeon (thin wheat noodles) in kalguksu broth, not what I expected. It started with my misunderstanding, and I appreciate them trying to accommodate my request, but I was completely disappointed as it was a different dish. In my opinion, it would be better if they informed customers that what they requested isn't on the menu. This has been my favorite kalguksu place for a long time. Despite the name changing several times over 23 years, a five-star rating is more than enough.
Parking: The packing lot is always available. If, full paking lot. Use the back side parking lot.“

“Complex, authentic Korean flavors made with traditional p ingredients. A humble porridge could become a pleasantly enjoyable experience. I ordered bulnakji porridge today and instead of using ground beef or cheap meat, they used a good quality meat and then they sautéed the marinated bulgogi in butter. mmm. Chives/buchu they used were fresh and green. So was the octopus. Often times you taste the fishiness but this octopus or nakji had a very clean flavor. The venue and the food they served were very clean. I highly recommend this place.“

“If you want to drink Korean soup, this restaurant is definitely the first choice. It tastes very good. Although there are only four side dishes, they all taste good. “This cute little place is amazing, authentic Korean BBQ and so much more! Tofu soup, banchan, various meats like Bulgolgi and boiled pork belly for wraps with lettuce, Napa and other lovely vegetables. Kalbi was so amazingly delicious! Complimentary seafood pancake served as an appetizer. You must try this! Oh and raw spicy marinated crabs. Exotic!
Parking: A small lot next to the restaurant, but a huge lot right next to the small one. We had plenty of great parking for our family.“

“My family and I are loyal regulars at Young Dong Tofu House—it’s hands down our favorite among all the tofu houses we’ve tried!
The restaurant is always clean, and comfortable, and the service is consistently excellent. The staff are attentive and often check in to see if we’d like more side dishes, which we truly appreciate.
Among the side dishes— the kimchi, bean sprouts, and fish cake are my top favorites—fresh, flavorful, and always satisfying. The tofu soup paired with brown rice is simply perfect. And the best part? The rice that gets crispy at the bottom of the hot stone pot can be softened with roasted barley tea to make a comforting scorched rice soup—it’s such a delightful way to end the meal.
Every visit leaves us full and happy. It’s not just a meal—it feels like comfort in a bowl. Can’t wait for our next visit!“

“Located on a less visited side of the plaza, there's this Korean restaurant that has fair prices food and portions.
Standard to all Korean restaurant, we were served with various side dishes which were pretty good flavor breakers for the food that was coming in.
We ordered a cold noodle dish, a Tripe/Brisket Glass noodle dish, and the premium bossam.
The staff was kind enough to inform us how to eat the premium bossam, providing lettuce to create a mixture wrap.
Alternating between the bossam and brisket was a easy break of flavor between the two, and you would quickly devour both in no time.
I wouldn't say there was anything in particular that stood out from this place, but sometimes you don't need a WOW place to eat at, and instead a quickly seated restaurant for some comfy food is all you need.“

“We had Gamjatang and the seafood pancake, and the pancake was so good with a lot of actual seafood, and the gamjatang soup was just amazing! The flavor of the soup didn't feel artificial or sharp, and instead had a very deep but smooth flavor that I appreciated a ton. Me and my wife easily finished the meat in the gamjatang, and brought the soup back home to make fried rice and that also tasted amazing! Will be back again for more“

“Come on Now! I hurt my mouth so the only thing I can eat was porridge. But where can I find porridge? I found it here after googling porridge… And it was fantastic. Not “the best” in terms of the fancy restaurant style of rice porridge (juk) but definitely more homey vibes version. Like how your mom or granny would make it.
The banchan (side dishes) were really fresh and a lot of variety. I’m going to try more menu items once my mouth heals.
This place has great comfort foods and classic korean foods most other places don’t have! More authentic. Not your basic trendy Korean spot.
Also, the lady who runs the register and serves is so kind. She is like the best Korean auntie. Just a kind soul.
I will bring my wife and our families (Lord willing)!
9/10“

“The food is plentiful, comes out quickly, and the taste is average.
But I think it’s only open in the afternoon.
The free popcorn was so soggy that I couldn't eat it, the tofu kimchi was too salty and sour, and the seasoned whelk seemed to have been under-mixed to the point where the sugar was chewy.
Still, it was plentiful because there were a lot of sea bream and dried dried pollack.
Altang is okay.“

“1. Chueotang is not as thick as in Korea, but it seems to be the best here.2. Loving pig's feet and even lettuce. However, it is not a jokbal full of scent of herbal medicine, octagonal or cinnamon. A kind of succulent-like, unscented feeling.3. The owner and the server are very kind.4. To be honest, I've never seen a Korean restaurant with this level of sound quality at this price.“

“Eat there only if you want to be treated like dirt. I am sick and tired of their way of treating their customers. They don't do reservations and their wait system is unforgiving and insane. 1. Long wait times like 1.5 hours 2. But with that long wait time, they only give you 10 minutes to "all be there" when they tell you table is ready. 3. That's not even the worst. They put a "wait time" estimate near their check in table. So you would think that is a solid guideline right? But no. The REAL wait time can swing a good 30 minutes both ways. Say they put "Current Wait time is 1.5 hours" you could get a call at 1 hour mark. And then they give you 10 minutes to get your party to be there. And they give you hell if your party can't make it like it's your fault that you don't have crystal ball to tell that your table will be ready in one hour’s time. I have tolerated it coz their food is actually really good. Meat quality is good etc etc. What broke the camels back today is. I checked in at 5:45 today. Wait time is 1.5 hours. So estimate sit time is 7:15 right? When I get the text that table is ready at 7:05 I thought all is awesome. AND THEN they told me that are actually having a staff party tonight and last call is at 8. That leaves my party less than an hour to do an AYCE dinner. I was furious. So I question them, “Why didn't you tell your customer that when they checked in?” "Well, we put the notice on the door. You didn't see it! So… 🤷🏻♀️” 1. There are a bunch of white and black notices all over the door and check in area. 2. And yes. My eye sight is not awesome. I didn't see it. But shouldn't it be THEIR JOB to let customer know VERBALLY when they check in that they are shifting the last call time an hour early? That’s basic decency. I wasted almost 2 hours there and by then it’s like lines all over the place for any place. I am never going back again for a restaurant that treats their customer like dirt so they can make money off me any more.“
