“I had such a great experience here! Danny, the manager, welcomed me right away and even set me up with a perfect corner table—which made the whole meal feel extra relaxed. Alissa, our server, was amazing—super friendly, professional, and on top of everything without ever rushing us. The ramen itself was incredible, full of flavor and beautifully balanced. Between the food, the atmosphere, and the team, this spot definitely deserves 5 stars. I’ll be back for sure!”

“Was super happy with our dinner at Hippo. Every dish was delicious. The brussel sprouts and cauliflower starters had excellent flavors. All the pastas we tried had incredible depth of flavor without being overly heavy or greasy. The hippo rolls and table focaccia were excellent and the chicken thighs were to die for. Only thing that was lackluster was the passion fruit gelato. Fun vibe, lots of seating, and great service!”

“Simply phenomenal. It takes incredible food, made by kind folks, who love what they do, to lift a stranger's spirit like my own. I had ordered four tacos: Masala Birria, Tinga Masala Chicken (by recommendation), Pibil Chicken, and the potato (Mexican potato substitution), along with a side of Mom's Beans and seasoned Cauliflower. I was nodding my head blissfully as I ate everything. The smell of spices and fresh cilantro, the taste of meaty beans and succulent poultry, and pickled onions were wildly satisfying. I was blown away and can't wait to return. You're missing out if you haven't eaten here, yet. Until next time, peace.”

“A tiny Portuguese restaurant in cypress park owned by a really nice guy, Mike Santos. Now it is small, but it is great. It is always super clean and they have great Portuguese food. We just love it. Whenever we are near there we stop for dinner.
You can make reservations or just walk in. It is not usually too long a wait. There is a lot of comfortable outdoor seating which is great. They play great music and now and again they have live music.
Their bread is the best. I could just have that and be happy, but I always get their pork because it is just perfect.
Start with their WEISER FARMS SUGAR CUBE MELON. It is so tasty.
Their ARROZ DE PATO CONFIT DUCK LEG, with BOMBA RICE, SOFRITO, CHORIZO, and DUCK CRACKLINGS are so good and they give you a large portion. You can share or take extra home. Their SUMMER EGGPLANT, with SCALLOP VINAIGRETTE, AGED CHEESE and PEPITAS, SUNGOLD TOMATO is so good.
There is nothing you will not like. They have nice selection of beer and port as well. Have fun.”

“The signature dish is the crab in sauce, which comes in medium and large sizes. medium is two crabs with two bowls of rice, and large is three crabs. Compared with other Korean restaurants, the sauce crab taste is mild, and it will not be salty enough to explode in the middle of the meal and cannot continue to eat. The crab is fresh, not fishy, and the meat is firm, not squishy. The crab meat is also very full, the crab legs are full, there is no empty shell crab. The sea urchin rice is a little smaller but the sea urchin is enough. regular sea urchins are not particularly sweet, but they are fresh and worth the price. The sea urchin Rice bowl combo will be served with steamed eggs, runny eggs and two prawns in sauce. Raw marinated salmon rice is amazing to me. The salmon is marinated just enough to be flavorful, but not overly salty. The portions are generous. You can eat two bites of each piece of salmon.”

“Food was delicious! We tried the molotes de plátano, which are three small, crispy banana fritters filled with cheese, served on top of a rich, flavorful mole sauce. We also enjoyed tacos de suadero, tender brisket cooked to perfection; Taco Sonia, a specialty with beef rib, chorizo, potatoes, and cactus; and flor de calabaza quesadilla, a savory quesadilla filled with tender squash blossoms and cheese. Additionally, there was a daily special: taco de huitlacoche, made with truffle-like corn fungus that has a smoky, earthy flavor. All dishes were served with warm, homemade tortillas made from fresh maize dough, enhancing the authentic taste.”

“Sushi Takeda is easily one of the best omakase experiences in downtown Los Angeles. Chef Takeda brings an incredible mix of precision, warmth, and traditional technique that makes every course feel special. The ingredients are unbelievably fresh, the pacing is perfect, and the flavors are clean, refined, and deeply memorable.
We also appreciated how balanced and approachable the menu is, with a nice mix of warm and hot dishes. The experience never feels intimidating and the food is beautifully prepared with absolute care. Chef Hide San is also incredibly friendly, humble and passionate about his craft which makes for a great experience from start to finish.
Located on the third floor of Weller Court in Little Tokyo, Sushi Takeda is a hidden gem that is perfect for an elegant edomae style lunch or dinner. We have no doubt a Michelin Star will soon follow!”
