Team Barbie and I rolled in Coronado's sole dive bar around 9:30am on Thursday, July 4th. A little preparty before marching in the famous Coronado 4th of July Parade. Interior is from the 1980s or 70s...but still clean, dark, faded red carpet, vintage wood panel walls, beer decor, a single pool table in the back, an older, friendly and gentlemanly bartender, and a clientele that was 90% men at this early hour.

Three craft lager beers and a generous mimosa was $29, which I thought was very reasonable in an expensive, ritzy, and yuppy filled city like Coronado.“

“I visited the Del Coronado hotel on Thanksgiving day and it was a beautiful experience, nicely complemented by the food at Babcock! We tried the Bavarian pretzel and the veggie pizza (more like foccachia bread), both were good for a quick evening bite. The restaurant is located inside the hotel lobby and has a great holiday vibe with live music and lights!!“

“We are locals and were there for the first time. The food is generous and very good. Service OK, could have been a little faster. It was very busy, being Valentine's Day, but very NOISY. Suggest altering the decor to absorb some of the noise. Lighting could be a little bit brighter also. All in all, we enjoyed our experience there and plan to return. “

“This was a great little rooftop bar that I just happened to notice while waiting on our shuttle. It decorated very modern and cute! The host/waiter was very personable and super friendly. The Wagyu burger and chicken sandwich were ok, but the herbed cauliflower was delicious! The view was great too! We would definitely visit again!!“

Open seating, not rushed,and great service. Drinks and food service was prompt,albeit a little pricey, but worth the special atmosphere. “Honestly could be considered a bit pricy until you finish your first drink. The bar tenders make some of the best drinks I've ever had and at first they seem to just be heavy on the fruit but about halfway thru you realize they balance the alcohol perfectly so you cant tell that they definitely make them very sturdy for a day at the beach. As for the tacos, I usually end up having several by the end of the day they are just so balanced and flavorful. Good portion size too (I usually get several fish tacos and one or two shrimp thru the day). I will always recommend the classic margarita with a tajin rim or the watermelon drinks they make. The fruit garnish is to die for and very refreshing complement to the drink itself. I am very passionate about this place.“

“This is not a place for food, but the drinks are so delicious! I need to go back to be able to try the rest of the drinks. That's basically the reason why I didn't give 5 stars, I really would wish more opportunity to try the other drinks. Overall I am in love with the place.“

“Very fun and lively atmosphere! The design is very well done. The food was great, I personally loved the oysters as they were served differently than I have experienced. The jalapeño Caesar salad was also amazing! Had a kick! Main dishes I enjoyed were the burger, and the chicken, very good and flavorful. Very fun and different cocktails to choose from along with fun zero proof options which is great if you do not drink alcohol. Service was spectacular, very kind, professional and knowledgeable about the menu. We will be coming back!“

“I always love a good speakeasy and this place did not disappoint. I love the concept. As soon as you walk in the room, you feel like you're being transported inside of a ship. The staff was friendly and the service was great. The drink menu is robust and I enjoyed the cocktails. My wife and I tried the Island Bird and La Vela. Both drinks were great. I was a bit disappointed with the food. We ordered the Tacos and Papas Bravas. Food was a bit underwhelming. But I would absolutely return just for the cocktails, vibes, service and ambiance.“

“First time here. It’s your typical dive, don’t expect anymore, don’t expect any less. Quarter machine was out of order so could play some of the games we wanted to but the bartender was pretty nice which is always great when it comes to drive bars“

I don't think anyone would mess with ??. Bathroom was very clean and the long mirror A+ ???. “Fabulous food served in a no-frills, casual atmosphere. The service was excellent and Chef Luciano Cibelli comes out of the kitchen and checks with every table to see how diners are doing. Great place to celebrate a special occasion. We enjoyed the seafood fettucini, chicken parmesian, and the catch of the day, which was sea bass on a bed of roasted vegetables, with beet purée and a delicious beurre blanc. Delish!“

The music was so much better when there was a DJ. He was really good. Bottomline is: if you’re going to save money, at least make a proper playing to avoid embarrassment. 😘“

But if you have to walk half a block, its like being in a Norman Rockwell hood if he was a chill beach hippie that liked tattoos and beer. Three pool tables. Avid and amenable local bar shooters. Solid tenders. Free pool on Tuesdays.“
