“As someone who’s passionate about clean eating and mindful of digestive health, I’m always looking for restaurants that balance authenticity with freshness and care. My visit to GS Cafe was a wonderful experience that checked many of those boxes.

I ordered the veggie platter, which came with great portion sizes and fresh ingredients enough for a 2 or 3 more meals! The injera appeared to have some barley mixed with teff, so while it wasn’t entirely gluten-free (as other reviewers mentioned), it was still light, fluffy, and beautifully made. I did miss a bit of that traditional sour tang, but it was clear that real attention went into its preparation.

The Key Sir (beets) were the star of the show — tender, perfectly cooked, and incredibly flavorful. Honestly, it was the best beet dish I’ve ever had.
The Misir Wot (red lentils) was surprisingly mild — a thoughtful touch for those sensitive to spice like me. The entire platter leaned toward a gentler spice profile than most of the 50+ platters I’ve tried over the years, but the staff provided traditional spice mix on the side, which was a lovely option for those wanting an extra kick.

The Gomen (greens) had more of a creamed-collard texture than the al dente style I prefer, but it was still well-seasoned. The Fasolia (string beans) and Atkilt (cabbage and carrots) were cooked nicely, though a touch on the oily side — not enough to upset my stomach, but it could be lighter.

And wow! the Ethiopian smoothie was a beautiful surprise! A refreshing blend of avocado, mango, and strawberry, it struck the perfect balance of sweet, fresh, and hearty.

The staff were outstanding; kind, welcoming, and clearly proud of their food. The young man who served me had such a positive attitude that it genuinely added to the warmth of the meal.

Overall, GS Cafe is an excellent choice for those trying Ethiopian food for the first time or for anyone seeking authentic flavors served in a gentle, stomach-friendly way.”

“It had been nearly 15 years since my last visit. I must say the decor is exactly as I remembered. Took 3 minutes to be seated then we were greeted by the most friendly and attentive waiter I’ve EVER had at any restaurant . I’m a huge lover of the cabbage salad so I gorged on a big bowl before dinner. I ordered a medium rare fillet and potato and it was cooked to perfection. I so wish I lived nearby as I would pay it a regular visit. I’m so glad the Clearmans Northwoods inn has not been changed.”

“It's located next to Mi Pulgarcito Pupiseria Salvadoreña and near GS Ethiopian Cafe. I had went to this plaza for another restaurant but they closed already for lunch. I decided to try this grilled chicken place, reminds me of Juan Pollo or El Pollo Loco. It seems family owned with a young teen taking my order.

I chose to try the 16 piece family special with half spicy and regular chicken ($44.99) which came with 4 large sides, tortillas and salsa. I chose their macaroni salad, potato salad, rice, and beans. I got a lunch special for myself that came with a can of soda. The seasoning on the chicken was good, the spicy chicken had a good heat. The skin was crispy and the chicken was moist. My family did not like the sides of macaroni and potato salad.

The staff was nice and the wait time was not long.”

Very friendly staff and inside decor has a very Hispanic/Mexican homestyle warmth. Now the food... so far I've been stuck on their carnitas and asada tacos! Comes with grilled onions and roasted jalapenos! Sooooo gooooood! Meat not dry and very tasty. They are not cheap on the meat either! I also love the abodado burrito (may have mis spelled that), I will try that on a sandwich next visit. Great little gem in town. Us over at the Acura dealer enjoy their food very much! Best around street Tacos and Burritos all their food is packed of flavor, fresh and best of all unlike other taco stands that barely put any meat, not here they always put more than enough meat on their tacos and Burritos so definitely you get your money's worth.

All the times I've been here they keep their taco stand pretty clean again unlike others that have trash laying around their taco stand this one here they keep it clean. Service as well pretty friendly, dudes cooking the food as well friendly with that welcoming attitude no salty faces here.

Overall awesome spot to hit up for some late night taco cravings. Prices are really reasonable, some of these taco stands around the area are way overpriced that's why you never see anyone hitting those up, so definitely recommend this one!”

“Townsent is a hit or a miss. I guess it depends who is manning the kitchen and who is taking your order. Today for lunch the food sucked. I ordered for 2 people, 1000 year pork, crispy fried shrimp, stir fried clams with ginger sauce and Kung Pao scallops. The 1000 year pork was a little chewy, normally it should melt in your mouth. The ginger clams and scallops had no flavor at all, we had to spice it up ourselves. It tasted like it was just boiled in water. The steam rice was soggy and looks like it’s been steamed way too long. The only thing I enjoyed was my hot tea. The waiter never checked on us at his own. We had to whistle him down. Maybe their food and services at night is a better hit. All I know is that I had good dining experience with them in the past. But today. It really sucked!”

However, the staff, Lenis was so incredibly nice and sweet. She made my dulce de leche latte, but it was much too sweet for my taste, so she immediately adjusted it for me. Not only did she fix it, but she even gave me extra shots and milk just in case, which was so thoughtful. She also handed me a little cut-up dessert as a treat—she's truly amazing!”

This small, family-oriented Juice bar is located on Arrow Hwy & Hollenbeck Ave. by Vicky's Barbershop with a small private parking lot.
Their menu consists of so many yummy treats such as 'Ice cream, Raspados (shaved ice), Bionicos (Fruit salad), shakes, smoothies, iced coffee, fresh juices, and even food such as hotdogs, sandwiches, salads, tortas, taquitos', etc.
I tried their 'Strawberry smoothie' and a 'Bionico', which is a fruit salad with sweet cream and toppings over it. I liked that the cream was not too sweet. The fruit was fresh and everything tasted great, ideal for this hot weather.
They also have 'Fruit Party Trays' which are perfect for a potluck or simply a gathering.
Service was amazing, very friendly, and welcoming.
Overall, I had a good experience here and will definitely return to try other goodies.”

“So I've been coming to Rude Dogs for years. I stopped but recently went back after a comedy show at the Laugh Factory a couple doors down. Thursdays are Kayoke nights (super fun). We love seeing our favorite Bartender, Kevin!!! Drinks are strong and great, and the vibe/ ambiance is one of an upscale bar. They have pool tables and dart machines. The bar is a wrap around and they have nice comfy booths and tables. Music is always on point (at least from what I can remeber). We happened to pop in on a Thursday night and they were doing karyoke (every Thursday, all night). Nice bar, great service and always a good time. You can find a parking lot behind the bar or street parking.”

“I went today to Covina Burgers which I have not been in a very long time. With all the good things I was hearing my son and I went for lunch. First off my son is picky he ordered a breakfast burrito and didn’t finish it because it was too big. But his take was this is better than Farmer Boys. Because the amount of egg to meat and potatoes is even. He went on to say the fries were tasty with the right amount of salt. I ordered the chefs salad and it is big enough for two meals. I also ordered the zucchini because those are a favorite and was not disappointed. They were light crispy and delicious. We will definitely be back!”

I recently took my wife back to her hometown in La Puente, and we stopped at Snap E Taco in nearby Covina. The food was excellent — flavorful, fresh, and made with care. The portions were generous, and everything tasted just like authentic home-style Mexican food should.

The service was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere had that classic local charm that makes you feel right at home. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why small, family-run spots often beat the big chains.

Today on June 14 at roughly 6 PM I saw a homeless guy outside with crutches. I asked him if he was coming inside because I was gonna open the door for him and instead of him answering the question he told me he was a schizophrenic and asked me if I was buying him food. I told him I couldn't afford to buy him food. I was just wondering if he was gonna come inside cause if so, I was gonna hold the door for him. He asked for my name. I gave him a fake name and he followed me in inside Carl's Jr.. Then when I was buying my food, he interrupted me and Anna's conversation and asked if I was gonna buy him food I told him I didn't have enough money for him to buy him food, and I looked at her after I paid and asked for the restroom because I felt uncomfortable. She gave me the code and I was about to walk to the restroom when I heard oh I need to use the restroom too coming from the homeless guy after I went into the female restroom not long after he went into the male restroom and I went back to Anna and talked to her about the guy for a bit because at this point he's acting strange. She's following me and she can see it too so she gives me my food and she tells me to be careful because I was gonna eat at Carl's Jr. when I ate inside the homeless guy came out of the restroom and began to bother me asking if I can buy him dinner saying is it dinner time and he said I'm sorry to bother you then luckily thank God for Anna. She stopped the guy and asked if everything was all right. He began to ask her for a water and then she asked him to leave luckily because of her asking him to leave, he left and I was able to sit down comfortably for the rest of my meal. I want to give the biggest shout out to Anna for doing this for me Because I was put in the scariest situation that I didn't know that was gonna obviously happen and because she was there, he stopped bothering me. I think she should get rewarded with something. Thank you Anna and I will gladly becoming a Carl's Jr. again because of the great service I had.”
