“We’ve been coming to this Japanese-style pasta restaurant for over 30 years. The chefs are very dedicated to preparing delicious food. Even though we no longer live nearby, whenever we crave it, we still drive over to enjoy the same delicious flavors.“

“A small spot right on Venice Beach with about 20 seats—all outdoors, but they have heat lamps, so it’s pretty cozy. Prices are fair for the area at around $ 16 a plate. We showed up at 7 PM, just 30 minutes before closing, but still found a table easily and got served super quickly. The staff was really friendly! As for the pasta, it was okay, but a bit plain and nothing to write home about. Overall, a convenient and affordable option near the beach.“

“Where do I start. Liz and Maggie are amazing. They made my family feel like some type of celebrity. I can’t state in this short paragraph how blown away I was by the service we received. THE BEST SERVICE, I’VE EVER RECEIVED. The drinks were excellent and the food was so good. I recommend the wagyu meatballs. The dessert was so tasty. You really can’t go wrong with anything you order here. The piano bar is a musical nice touch. I really appreciated the attention to detail on the decor of the restaurant when it came to the music. “Cozy, classic Italian dinner!!!

I ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara and the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo and really enjoyed both. The carbonara was creamy and flavorful without feeling too heavy, which I loved. Total comfort food!

The Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo was also really tasty! The pasta was cooked perfectly, chicken was tender, and the sauce wasn’t overly thick or greasy.

Everything tasted fresh and absolutely satisfying.

Definitely ordering from here again!“

My wife just brought me back a Mr. G's (she did it right and got everything on the side that wasn't meat and cheese) and it was still the best Sandwhich I've ever had. It's truly that good. “I can’t believe this has lower than a 4.8. Pizzana is the real deal. We just came back from Italy and it’s not too far off from our favorite spot in Italy, truly. The Neo Margherita is our go to, it’s so delicious and not like any other pizza in LA. Their salads are also super fresh and the focaccia is so yummy. Pizzana stays in our rotation and never disappoints.“

It was towards the end of the evening and they were only a few people left at the restaurant, we had to ask the waitress for our bread four times which was unusual. Otherwise, we appreciated the quiet atmosphere, the very nice wine and high  quality, wine glasses and the good food. We were a little bit disappointed because at the end of the evening we noted we smelled cigarette smoke coming from the back of the restaurant we felt was quite unprofessional. “Lapaba is owned and partnered by famous restauranteurs Nancy Silverton, Tanya/Joe Bastianich, and Robert Kim and led by husband-wife chef McKenna Lelah and Matthew Kim who met at Osteria Mozza. Lapaba certainly flexes its expertise in Italian cuisine, however as many other reviewers have pointed out, the menu offerings and execution misses the mark of Italian-Korean fusion. I loved the open kitchen concept and the long bar seating. Our server for the night was not the warmest person nor cared for whether we were enjoying our experience but was otherwise attentive.

We were somewhat disappointed to find that all their cocktails were exclusively soju based without any information about their source and were relatively simple. I got G-ma's Boricha which I felt was very mild in flavor from both the soju and barley tea perspective.

Starters: 1) The milk bread had a great crust and soft inner texture. The choice of black garlic and honey buckwheat for the butters hit the Korean fusion goal. 2) The scallion pajeon was probably my favorite dish of the night with a crispy texture contrasted with the creamy and savory leek fondue.

Pastas: 1) The radiatori and galbi jim was probably my least favorite dish. The pasta overcooked, the texture of the meat did not feel like short ribs, and the addition of red wine made the ragu nowhere near reminiscent of the sweet and rich flavor of galbi jim. 2) The agnolotti and cheesy corn was delicious in its own right (can't go wrong with brown butter), but that gooey melted mozzarella we're used to seeing in the popular Korean BBQ side dish was missing among the pool of melted butter fat. 3) The orecchiette and sausage was my second favorite dish of the night and probably captured the essence of Italian-Korean fusion the best.

Dessert: I was extremely excited to try the tiramisu-garu but felt like I could not taste the misugaru nor makgeolli at all (understandably the former is pretty light in flavor to begin with). Rather, I was getting mostly the powdery black matcha flavor with every bite. I think incorporating more misugaru (or entirely switching to injeolmi - a more flavorful, sweet, and nutty powder) as the egg yolks are double boiled and then folded into the whipped mascarpone and cream could potentially add the flavor I was craving for in this dish.“

“​Stopped by Pasta Corner at the farmers market and had a great meal. I absolutely loved the Alfredo it was fresh, saucy, a huge portion, and piled high with cheese, which totally made the dish! My son ordered the spaghetti and thought the sauce tasted great, but the texture of the pasta was a bit off for him. I also paired my meal with a really good Italian soda . Service was quick with zero wait time, though the cashier wasn't overly friendly. I'd definitely come back again for the Alfredo!“

“If you’re anywhere near Santa Monica and craving AMAZING pizza, this place is an absolute must. From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel so welcome, the vibes are always warm, friendly, and cozy. It’s the kind of pizza parlor that instantly feels like your go-to spot.

My personal favorites are the Spicy Bear and the Bianco pizzas… both are insanely delicious and packed with flavor. And don’t even get me started on the spicy BBQ wings, the PERFECT balance of sweet and spicy. I literally crave them all the time.

“Their famous Chicken Mattone was not edible. It was beyond dry, and I even talked to the waitress about that before ordering it--she said she would make sure it wasn't dry. However, they handled it well--took it off the bill and comped two glasses of wine. The pizza was good, but the pasta and meatballs were a bit bland. Stick with the salads and sandwiches.“

It was 2am & We had never tried this place before. I was so surprised at how high-quality it was my husband and my son also loved it.
These are hands-down, the best meatballs in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills!!!
Believe me, I have tried meatballs, everywhere and 99% of the time I’m disappointed. I am so happy that I found these meatballs! The Alfredo sauce was creamy and on par with some of the best I’ve ever had and the Caprese salad was fresh.!
I just read someone else’s review who claimed that the meatballs were frozen… That person obviously doesn’t know the difference between fresh meatballs, and frozen Because these were definitely FRESH“

I had hoped the notes regarding the table for my guest and dietary restrictions would have been communicated in advance, as I had to reiterate them upon arrival.
