“We had a very nice lunch on Mother’s Day.The place wasn’t busy, which was great for Mother’s Day because we didn’t have any reservations anywhere. They have a good size patio and the service was excellent. We really liked both the bacon Benedict and the African dish that we got for breakfast.We will return again.

“Had the gyro plate with fries and salad. Went close to closing time and my gyro meat was a bit dry but still tasted good. Big salad to go with it too. Didn't give me enough sauce though...my fault for not getting more! Overall a good experience...the cashier was very nice and super helpful with this being my first time.“

“A couple of months ago my friends and I all went to visit La Jolla cove. However what I would come to find out then was they were all going to be an HOUR late. I needed to use the restroom so I went to the nearest place from where I parked. By sheer luck I stumbled upon Spiro's.

Knowing that I couldn't wait for them to eat lunch, I decided to try Mediterranean cuisine by myself for the first time. I asked the friendly cashier what was popular and she recommended the chicken gyro which is what I got. That gyro was gone in 10 seconds to say the least.

Additionally, the atmosphere was very welcoming with open doors, a very aesthetically pleasing design, and family pictures on display to show the history of the business I presume. They also had water with fruit and some kind of tea/coffee on the house!

After my friends finally made it to La Jolla I told them they had to try Spiro's.

Parking: If you go on the weekend attempting to find street parking is a nightmare. I probably looped La Jolla for 20 minutes before I gave up and paid for parking (fair warning it is pricey and costs $25 at the time of this post!)“

“This is a surprisingly good cafe in the most unusual place. They have great Italian food and health foods for lunch, plus some great kombucha tea drinks. However, they're located on a college campus. They have a wonderful patio for outside dining where you can watch the paragliders go by, but you're not quite close enough to see the ocean. There are no other nice restaurants or cafes close by so this makes a good option if you're visit Blacks beach or the paragliding facility down the street.“

“I went there for lunch. There were only me and another couple the whole time. The waiter spent most of his time in the kitchen, not in the front. When I finished my food, I waited for a while but he did not come out so I went to the restroom. While I'm in the restroom, the waiter came knocked loudly on the door and asked loudly several times if I was in there. I found this very rude and told him that. He then said sorry and said it would not happen again if I come back. I don't think so.“

This is a brand new location for this business with new employees and new policies and procedures.

“I attended the monthly themed dinner. The food was unique and very well prepared. The service was slow and descriptions of the dishes were not exactly enthusiastic however staff was friendly and accommodating when they were able. The atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxing and beautiful.

Parking: Timed street parking depending on the time you go. Parking could be very limited depending on day and time. I was there on a Thursday night and had no trouble finding parking.

Wheelchair accessibility: There is a WC ramp on the north side of the building to access the restaurant. Restaurant is very spacious with plenty space for wheelchairs.“
