“What a place! We ordered Polpo alla griglia and Burrata con piselli for our appetizers. The octopus was cooked perfectly with the right balance of flavors, and the burrata was light and well-balanced with asparagus. For our main course, we had Linguine con aragosta and Rigatoni alla buttera. The pasta and meats were cooked and seasoned just right! The craft cocktails were unique and delicious, and the perfect balance of flavors. Thanks to Andres and Christian for their drink and food recommendations, as well as their excellent customer service! They tend to get busy quickly after opening, so it would be best to make a reservation!“

“This was a lovely place to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon! There were two pages of beer options, and michiladas! The servers and other patrons were friendly. I love that you can order by the half or taster glass as well. They had a couple of prize winning beers on the menu that were great for IPA lovers. We stayed for dinner, getting nachos and tacos from the taco truck on site.We sat outside on the patio, soaking in the sunshine. When it got chillier as the sun set, they turned on the heat lamps. Eventually we moved inside, with comfy couches and tables to avoid the wind as we finished our food and beer. It’s great to have a place with so much seating and drinking choice!“

“Had a lovely breakfast in the restaurant in the morning and then went to the bar later that day for drinks. We asked for a tequila old fashioned cocktail and the lovely bar man Luis made us one of his own creations. He called it a Mexican old fashioned and it was honestly the best cocktail we have ever tasted. Luis is a very skilled mixologist and hopefully his Mexican old fashioned will become a regular drink at the C bar.“

“Alvarado is a great place for drinks and dinner. The food is always great and I’ve been told the beer is good (but I don’t think beer). However, the cocktails are great too! The place definitely gets crowded really quick so prepare for a wait if you wanted a table or else I recommend just eating at the tabletops.“

“Always outstanding and a go to lunch spot when visiting. Great selection of oysters and the horseradish will clear the sinuses (the waitress warned us which was nice but we loved). Just finished the fish and chips with skinny fries. Super flavorful and fresh and the batter wasn’t too heavy.“

“Disappointing americanized italian food for this price point, consistently not well prepared or seasoned although ingredients were good. Service was good and laid back, and rooftop was nice. We had soup, pizza, pasta, salads, sides, and desserts and they were underwhelming. Pizza dough was good and fluffy but lacked salt.“
“Great atmosphere. The food and drinks are great and reasonably priced. Great service. Interesting military heritage and history in the Hotel del Monte. A must visit in Monterey on the Naval Postgraduate School campus (must have base access).“

“This is my first time visiting Seaside and I stopped by this place due to the positive reviews. Ordered to go enchiladas plate, birria tacos including consume which they had a special Thursday deal for, and the super burrito. I was totally amazed by how fresh the food was even though it was for take out. The birria tacos were crispy on the outside but the birria meat was moist on the inside packed with meat. The enchiladas were packed with chicken which shows they are not stingy with their meat. Also, the food came out fairly quick rather than having us wait a while. There are a lot of seats and tables provided. Will definitely stop by again when I come back to seaside. This place is a must if you're craving mexican food.“

“A semi-formal atmosphere with high-level service and food which is only outmatched by breathtaking views. This is a golfer's paradise, but the views of Monterey Bay are breathtaking for golfers and non-golfers alike.Come to The Bench...you will not be disappointed!!“
“I have been here 3 times, I work nearby and love that I can make an order and its ready by the time I arrive. The first experience was hands down the best and deserves 5 stars! The server was a woman, very helpful and friendly, she had everything packed perfectly in the bag and the food was phenomenal, I ordered the chicken pesto panini. I decided to order again the next day as it was so perfect the first time, this experience was nothing like the day before, I was handed a box and sent off, no napkins, utensils, not even a bag to carry it out, and the sandwich was nothing like the one from the day before, disappointing!I decided to give it one more shot because I wanted to share the sandwich that I at this point was pretty obsessed with with a coworker and because I could get lunch fairly quickly. Third time definitely way better than the 2nd, almost as amazing as the first, I don't know if they had a different cook or what the issue was, but overall for all 3 trips I think I will definitely return, hopefully I will be lucky and get the friendly woman server because she is amazing! The person answering the phone is also pleasant.“

“We enjoyed the new interior atmosphere of The Covey. It's softer, warmer and more inviting. Our party of four enjoyed beet and Caesar salads, pastas and the classic hamburger. Our waiter was terrific- he treated us with the professional familiarity appreciated in a club (we are Quail members).“

“The choice fell on this place because it's open all day and serves steak. The reviews of restaurant are very good, with a magnificent view of the ocean, and the service is above average - a good balance with mediocre food. It's worth trying once, but I'm unlikely to return. There are much tastier restaurants in Monterey.“
“A too rare case of what a true, nearly extinct classic neighborhood dive bar should be. Ages 21 to 70+ in equal numbers. Full crowd most evenings but I most always found a barstool. Tonight a live duo backing up piped in karaoke. Dogs allowed. The last old school bar left in the Monterey area unfortunately, that I am aware of.“

“After learning Le Bicylette had a 1.5 hour wait on a Sunday, we peeked down the little alley way and allowed ourselves to be enticed to select an outdoor table for a delicious pizza lunch. Started with the Cesar salad (extra anchovies!) followed by the Pepe Board. The four of us then split two pizzas, the San Vito and the Diavola. Took home the last 3 slices for lunch the next day. Charming patio! Definitely worth a return.“

“4/10/24 It's been a while, but back ordered the Salmon $27 dinner with mashed potato and veggies. The Salmon cooked perfectly, tender and moist. All ingredients are well balanced, not too heavy of garlic, I don't want to scare off my vampire friends, lol.The atmosphere is nostalgic of the old pubs. The Service is very good, I have been coming here now off and on for two years. It's been consistent most of the time.“

“This is the very best sushi restaurant in the area! The food is amazing, the server was so attentive and the ambiance was clean and calming. I came on here to rave about the food but truly had a wonderful experience and plan on coming back soon!“

“The place is always bustling with activity, but the bartenders and servers always stay on track with great customer service, drink recommendations, and good attitudes! Recently, one of their bartenders Sharen won a local cocktail challenge too! They are always coming up with new and innovative cocktails!“
“Where to start? The owner greeted us with open arms and even fed us! Vibes were vibing and the time was flying. Bartenders George and Dj had excellent service, place was packed and they were still quick and friendly. Got out of there much later than expected! We love the compact disco.“

“Been here multiple times now and love it everytime. The parker house rolls and calarmari are a must and the food is consistently delicious. The space is beautiful (our favorite seats are tucked next to the fireplace). The bread pudding = the best night cap!“
“This bar and grill is wonderful. It's beautiful and the food was delicious. Savanah, who served us at the grill, then the bar, was fabulous. She was friendly and professional and made the best lemon drop ever! She made the place extra special!“
“Great location, great staff, never a long wait. This is the place of you want to play pool in Monterey. I’ve been going here for years and have never had a bad time. Sure the prices have crept up a little but it is still relatively cheap entertainment for a couple hours of fun!“

“To be clear, there is no food, it's just drinks. However I love the location, the ambiance, and said drinks. They put care into creating these recipes, and just as much care into making them. Service is wonderful, and the live music is great. Be prepared to put some money down for drinks, average price off happy hour for the drinks is in the neighborhood of 16 bucks. We spent about 80ish bucks for two drinks each between my wife and I.“
“This hotel is aesthetically pleasing with the recent renovations. It is such a vibe that you'll love being there. The breakfast was amazing, there are coffee, mimosas, OJ, mimosas, GF muffins, potato dish, chia seed yogurt, other yogurts, fresh fruits, salsa, avocado wrapped eggs, 3 kinds of breads, butter, croissants...etc. There are to be made waffles and omelets, outside the buffet breakfast. There are two sitting area but I think if it gets packed you can move to the Garden Room. There are fireplaces lit up during the day and night for chilly areas. I couldn't believe there was a fresh fruit bowl in the lobby area. Initially I thought it was a decor; there were grapes, mandarins, oranges, and green apples. I couldn't resist and took two mandarins, I wasn't sure if I could take it. XD The con is having to ask for the WiFi information and parking. I didn't know where the parking was because it was in the back and had forgotten to ask. There's no map available for breakfast, you just follow everyone and the smell. Overall, I would definitely stay again in the future. Don't forget about the late night cookies starting at 7:30 pm-9pm. I think you can take as many as you'd like.“

“Flight to SFO was delayed for 2 hours. We had to find some food and chose here. Food was at a good portion and cooked right. For airport food, it wasn’t bad not all. A little bit pricey of course. If you don’t mind the noise, you can sit outside and watch the planes takeoff and land.“

“I went to Abalonetti for dinner with my two young boys. The host quickly sat us and the waiter was very attentive. It was a much better greeting than at Fisherman's Grotto, where the host host rudely greeted us with “No strollers, no crying babies, no loud kids”. I have no idea if he ever actually said hi because we just walked away in the middle of his rant. My kids are well-behaved. Creep. Anyway, I appreciated it when the waiter at Abalonetti even catered to my five-year-old, who wanted freshly grated Parmesan cheese on his fish and chips! My boys love the food at this restaurant and tend to eat really well here. We come about once or twice/month.“

“This place was so great! It has a great neighborhood feel and everyone was so incredibly kind! Rodney, our waiter, was very attentive. “Our waiter was Rachael and she was outstanding. There was 8 of us and 4 of us were turning 70 so we were pretty rambunctious we'll say. Racheal was so much fun and patient. I shared the lamb chops and the bararta salad with my partner and they were great. The lamb was cooked perfectly. We will for sure come back next time we are down!!! Thank you Beach House & staff..“

“Best late night spot in Carmel. They have late night food and a full bar. The bartenders know their stuff and have great cocktail options. The mezcal margarita is probably the best mezcal drink I’ve had but there is a sweet and spicy note. It turns into a little dance club at night too.“

“My wife and I go there at least once a month. Last night the place was hopping, busier than usual, Big Sur marathon weekend I guess. We were seated quickly and the server promptly took our order. Drinks and food came out quickly and were fabulous. We will definitely return soon. Only down side is it's quite loud( being a sports bar I guess) but not unbearable“

“Food is good, but not everything was OMG. The bruschetta was spot on, and the pistachio gnocchi was a tasty surprise and delicious. I ordered the ribeye, one of the most expensive dishes on the menu. Although it was good, it was all steak. There were a couple brussel sprouts and baked gnocchi balls underneath but nothing to speak of, so basically I just had a steak which for the price was not worth it. Really needed more sides and sauce to justify what they're asking for it. My girlfriend had spaghetti and meatballs, which was dry and not nearly enough sauce. Service was good and it's a lovely restaurant, even had a guitar player and singer which made the atmosphere nice. But for the $300 for 4 people (no wine just 2 beers) it was a hard ticket to swallow. I advise knowing what you want and not going high price hoping it's the best. UPDATE: I've changed my review of the service to 5 stars, thanks to the kind staff that picked up my credit card I had left behind and mailed it to me at no charge! I really appreciate it!“

“Saturday night is a great time for dinner and music! Frida, an up and coming local singer, filled the restaurant with her songs: originals, covers, Spanish ballads, and yodeling! From 6-8, she performs and it was so beautiful!! The menu is also delicious. From Russian to BBQ, lots of options. The beet borscht was tasty. We also enjoyed the brisket! The hot tea is brewed from organic garden herbs. Variety of bar drinks, too!“

“Stopped by for dinner after some Xmas shopping. It wasnt busy at all. We were seated right away. The staff we interacted with are very friendly and seemed happy with their job. Made it ver pleasant to be there. Dining room was clean and inviting. Restrooms were also clean. I did not bring a sweater, It was chilly inside the restaraunt, I was really cold. It was 50’s outside and felt like 60’s inside. The food was pretty good. We ordered the 3 for me deal. Enchilada soup was really good. The crispy chicken sandwhich was crispy and the sauce it came with made it even better. It was plenty of food. I couldnt finish it. Took most of it home. Less than $30 for two is a great deal! Would definately come back for lunch and try their appetizers. Will Bring a sweater next time :)“

“It's always a hopeful sign when vegan (V) and gluten free (GF) are clearly identified. That's the reason I chose Jacks at the Portola Hotel in Old Monterey. There were more than one item I can order. We selected a salad, The Sesame Ginger Bowl without the hoisin sauce, a side of fried tofu for protein, and the Turkey Pot Pie. Both items were delicious. The server forgot about the fried tofu, but when it finally came, it was oil soaked and not very enjoyable. The salad was enjoyable. The Turkey Pot Pie came with a spoon because it was kind of soupy inside, but enough turkey and very delicious. The hotel interior was nicely designed by the ambience at our table was not as nice because it felt like a low end sports bar. If we came back to Monterey or Pacific Grove again, we would definitely dine here.“

“My family and I ate at El Torito for lunch while on vacation. We were seated but had to wait awhile for a waiter. Our food was pretty good overall. The waiter tried his best but was too busy to be as attentive as he should have been…not his fault, more staffing was needed. The bathrooms also needed to have some cleaning done to them.“

“This bar is the type of clubby leather clad place that is perfect for a “final final”. The bartenders give great service and there is a wide selection of scotches and bourbons and cognac. There are also several televisions and they serve a limited menu of pub food. Sit by the fireplace and relax after fighting the winds at Spanish Bay.“
