From the moment we walked in, the warm welcome and genuine smiles set the tone. The staff was not only friendly but also really helpful in guiding us through the menu. The food itself was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and made with care. The homemade corn tortillas were a standout, and everything tasted authentic and fresh. “We went this evening to be so disappointed. Normally order Fish n Chips unfortunately they changed their brand and most of all Quality. If I wanted a Gortons Fish Fillet with minced fish meat then I would of bought a box from super Market and served those with Oreidas fries at home. Usually they serve nice pieces of Cod. Always in the past been Good. Tonight's Quality and Quantity was lack there of. $18.50 for 1 Piece of minced Fish and my husband had literally 16 bits and pieces of French fry on his plate. He was still hungry when we left. According to waitress there have been several complaints so I'm glad we aren't only customers to complain. Waitress took our Dinner off Bill we paid for our beverages and tipped her nicely because it's not her fault. Word to the Owner: In this economy when people want to dine out and come to spend their hard earned money on a nice meal Don't Cut Corners on your Quality of Food. Otherwise you will find customers will make other dining choices and boycott your business and eventually your business will suffer. We won't be back anytime soon. We DON'T recommend the Fish n Chips“

“All of the staff is very friendly and the sushi wraps are always yummy. The consistency of the seawood wrap job itself varies - sometimes it holds together well and other times it completely falls apart and I have to use a fork, which defeats the point for me.“

“They messed up our order at my job holiday treat dinner and I was so upset how my Store Manager Monique went out her way to treat the crew. I called and General Store Manager Wuan gave the Manager who is a faithful customer the whole meal over and done right. He didn't not complain or be mad he was very polite and nice despite my attitude remained very courteous and professional and I respect that. “This is one of my favorite lunch spots in Davis and I come here often. It's easy to access from the highway, with a decent parking lot, and ample outdoor seating. You line up right inside to counter order and they'll hand you a number stand, then they bring your food out to you when it's ready. There's a self-service tortilla chips and salsa bar in the back, and you can choose from any of the self-serve drink dispenser options (including the horchata) if you get a fountain drink (a la carte or as part of the daily special). I love how fast the food comes out and it's my go-to restaurant when I'm in a rush. I've had their tacos, burritos, quesadillas, enchilada specials, etc and they've tasted great every time. I highly recommend it!!“

Let me start by saying our server Tara (I think that's how you spell it), was the best server I have encountered in decades. Decades my friend! Sushi was absolutely amazing! The skewer thing was a big hit and everyone loved the pot stickers. The fact that Hisui hit 5-stars in the food, service, and atmosphere criteria should tell you it's great. To the management, give Tara a raise! Employees like her are part of the winning combination of why people will return. I loved it all!

It's obvious these girls value great customer service, and are quite the saleswomen to boot. Popped in just to ask some questions, left with the answers and an unplanned sandwich. “I used to come to this restaurant in the mid '00s, and it changed both name and ownership at some point between then and now. Perhaps I'm having a bit of nostalgia fogging, but it seems the quality declined somewhat the change. However, Nami is still a perfectly serviceable mid-range sushi restaurant even if they are no longer a hidden top-tier gem the way I remember them having been in 2005. Their sashimi continues to be decent, as do their bento boxes. They rolled out an AYCE menu at some point as well, but I haven't tried this as I tend to be skeptical of AYCE anywhere. The lunch service tends to run a bit slow even when the place is nearly empty, which I find mildly frustrating when I'm in a hustle to get back to work. The staff does seem to have some difficulty with English (they speak Cantonese as their primary language), which has made for difficulties in recent visits (explaining that I was not in fact ordering AYCE), but I have since become somewhat of a regular so they remember my preferences, which is a nice touch. I wouldn't call this a destination restaurant, but I appreciate it for its convenience and its prices which I find to be far more reasonable than many other Japanese restaurants in Davis. All in all, a good mix of quality, convenience, and cost -- a good lunchtime choice for folks who live and/or work in East Davis.“
