“Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience here. The service was extremely poor, and our server was incredibly rude and had a bad attitude throughout our visit. He repeatedly rolled his eyes at us and made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.

What bothered us most was the way he served the food. Instead of placing the plates down normally, he would practically drop them onto the table from above with such an aggressive attitude that it felt disrespectful and almost as if he wanted to throw them at us.

Good food can’t make up for service that makes customers feel disrespected. I really hope management takes this seriously and provides better customer-service training.“

“Excellent middle Eastern food. The Mediterranean salad is exceptional. The shwarma is delicious as are the desserts. Very casual dining. Order at the counter and food is brought to the table. While waiting for food they bring tea to the table. A very nice touch.“

“We had Hyderabadi Goat Dum Biryani and it lived up to the billing that they should rename it to ChAr Minar. I was pleasantly surprised that the biryani tasted so authentic and delicious that for a moment I was transported to an Irani restaurant. We also ordered Rangooni Burmese Paratha stuffed with chicken pieces which was a bit spicy but tasty. The atmosphere is nice, clean and modest like a typical small restaurant where the food matters more than the decor. #HiddenGem“

“The lemon potatoes are so simple yet delicious. The chicken skewers are always cooked perfectly. The seasonal watermelon salad is SO good, my only suggestion would be to add pistachios or something for crunch. I stop here for lunch quite a bit and the food and friendly service are always consistent. Ordering ahead and picking up is also super easy on their app, though when I’ve walked in they’ve been fast without sacrificing yummy.“

“This place was pretty good, with fresh ingredients and a nice variety of vegetables, including plenty of vegetarian options. There was a good range of choices, which made it easy for everyone to find something they enjoyed.

The service was good overall, although it did take longer than expected for our food to arrive after we placed our order. It was also a little confusing figuring out which order belonged to whom. It would be helpful if the orders were clearly marked with names or table numbers to make things easier.

The ambiance was one of the highlights. The restaurant has a great modern-industrial design that gives the space a stylish but relaxed feel. They also offer outdoor seating, which is a nice option when you want to enjoy your meal outside.

“Our party of eight recently went to the Iftar buffet at Haroon Afghan Cuisine, and the experience was truly wonderful. The buffet offered a great variety of dishes—at least eight different options—each prepared with care and full of authentic Afghan flavor. One of the highlights was the delicious leek and potato bolani, which was crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Along with the main dishes, they also served beverages, tea, and dessert, which made the meal complete and very satisfying.

What impressed us the most was the freshness and quality of every dish. Everything was served fresh, warm, and beautifully prepared. Unlike many other buffet restaurants where food can sometimes sit out for a long time and lose its freshness, Haroon Afghan Cuisine clearly takes pride in maintaining high standards. The food tasted homemade, authentic, and full of rich traditional flavors that reminded us of real Afghan home cooking.

The service was also exceptional. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout the evening. They made sure guests felt comfortable and well taken care of, which created a warm and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone. You can truly feel their hospitality and dedication to providing the best experience possible for their guests.

“Alora Social in San Ramon is such a fun spot for a night out! The atmosphere is vibrant and inviting, making it perfect for date night, a celebration, or an evening with friends.

The food is excellent and beautifully presented. Definitely don’t skip the hummus platter—it’s fresh, creamy, and served with warm, fluffy bread and delicious accompaniments. Everything we ordered was flavorful and well prepared.

The cocktails are another highlight. They have a great selection of creative, handcrafted drinks that pair perfectly with the food.

For an extra special experience, I highly recommend visiting on a Saturday evening when they have live belly dancing. It adds such a fun and energetic element to the night and really makes the experience memorable.

One tip: make a reservation, especially for Saturday nights and weekends. They can get very busy!

Great food, fantastic cocktails, welcoming service, and a lively atmosphere make Alora Social one of my favorite spots in San Ramon. Definitely worth a visit!“
