When I fell outside their store, they offered me an ice pack. Today they gave me two cherries in my sundae, so I have sworn allegiance to them forever. My favorite flavor of the day that has ever happened is banana caramel, but I also have enjoyed most of their flavors of the day. If I don't like their flavor of the day, I get a brownie sundae or a lemon raspberry sundae. Anyway, very tasty, highly recommended.“

“The ladies who were working there today were really nice. I had a beef taco and it was very good. Spicy as we love it! It came with jalapeño, grilled onions and lime. I ate it at home with rice and salad, cucumber (picture with the plate). But the take away is well done, in a box and covered by foil paper.“

The venue itself is beautiful, clean, spacious, and thoughtfully maintained. & a kitchen space could be included in the rental. It’s the kind of space you can easily imagine transformed for a special event. But what really stood out was CJ’s kindness and humanity.

We had just lost our wedding venue only weeks before our wedding. An incredibly stressful and emotional situation and CJ was beyond understanding and compassionate. He was willing to work with us, took the time to listen to our needs, and never made us feel rushed or pressured. Even more impressively, he went above and beyond by connecting us with another venue that ended up being a better fit for our wedding, even while we were actively touring his space.

That level of integrity, empathy, and genuine care is rare. City View Commissary is not only a lovely venue, but it’s run by people who truly care about others and that matters. We tried a number of the others, and this one is consistently the best taste, value (3 tacos for $9)and portion sizes. The grilled onions and sliced radishes they serve with the street tacos is a nice addition.“

The churros are delicious in their own or with a variety of fillings. My favorite is the caramelo (caramel) filling that's made with goat milk. (It's like dulce de leche but warrrrrm.)

The people who run it are also the owners, which means they're invested in creating a friendly, community atmosphere and gladly cater to special requests.

“I went there mid afternoon on a Thursday. I was the only one in the dining room but I was received with smiles and great service. I ordered suya beef, a side of jollof rice and a moi moi, all of which are familiar to me.

The suya was delicious and spicy, just the right combination of dry and tender. The jollof was very flavourful, truly excellent. It didn’t have the scorched flavour that some people might prefer in a party jollof but for me this was great.

The moi moi was a bit dry and it has both an egg and some fish in it. Not my favourite but you can’t win them all.

Over all I felt this was very good and will happily return. I enjoyed the Afro beats music and the friendly staff.“

Quite disappointed on my last visit, their take on cappuccino is 10oz, so you have a faint coffee flavor, and it’s a latte by rest of the world standard! Just came back from Japan and it would not be possible to order a late this size. They have a latte and petite latte on the menu, but that would essentially be the same drink. For a coffee roaster with the finest beans this makes no sense. Buffy, if you were to create a 6oz petite cappucino, the vast majority of locals would go for that, you would save on milk, preparation time, and you can still charge $7.5 for that petite latte, we just want to taste the coffee beans! I was given a free beignet, fresh and hot to enjoy while I waited.

They didn't have the burger when I was there and I was between the mushroom sandwich or a chicken thigh pita. If I could go back, maybe next time I would try the chicken pita. The mushroom sandwich was good but I am personally not a fan of very thick bread. The fries were delicious, thick cut fries and fried perfectly. Nice and hot. Friendly service“

“You can easily miss this truck tucked away on the corner of a parking lot. They are busy non stop on a Saturday night. They are quick to get you your food though.

The Al Pastor had great flavor with a slight sweetness of pineapple. Pairs well with their salsa, which is neither red or green, but it was delicious. The Asada was good too, with good taste and texture. The Lengua was very tender and went well with the salsa too.

I will def be back to try the other Cortes and horchata. My only suggestions is they should use order numbers or get a name to the order. They read out whole order for pickup and it gets confusing. Would save them and customers time.“

An afternoon operational run to evaluate one of Oakland’s highest-volume street culinary hubs. Service was incredibly fast, and the covered outdoor seating plaza made it easy to sit down and analyze the payload immediately.

Everything we ordered was excellent:

The Torta: My partner had the carne asada torta and loved it. It was packed with a generous amount of steak that was flavorful but not too spicy. The bread was perfectly soft but held together much better than he expected without getting soggy or falling apart.

The Tacos: I tried three different tacos—carne asada, fish, and al pastor—and all of them were fantastic. They were well-built and easy to eat because they didn't skimp on the tortillas. The kitchen put the perfect amount of salsa on top of each one so it didn't overwhelm the flavor of the meat.

The Standout: The al pastor was hands-down my favorite. It had that perfect balance of deep seasoning and those crispy, caramelized edges you look for in great pork.

The Drink: The strawberry horchata was delicious and super refreshing in the sun. It was creamy, sweet, and the perfect counter to the savory meats.

The Verdict: Tacos Sinaloa completely defends its reputation. Fast, delicious, and pristine street-level execution.“
