Pet Friendly Restaurants in El Portal, CA

“We stayed 4 nights in mid-May at Yosemite Cedar Lodge #YCL and were very pleased with its proximity to Yosemite. We were typically in the valley within 30 minutes. The location is definitely a 5/5 stars. For an old-style hotel, the rooms were spacious and had the refrigerator and microwave typical of chain hotels. The service was excellent. For example, around 7 pm of our first night, we asked at the office for more facecloths and a second luggage rack, and someone brought them to our room before we even walked back to it. It was very convenient to have a diner/bar so close, and we ate some good sandwiches there twice and had some really excellent drinks - especially the blackberry margarita! We also bought several things in the gift shop and grocery store. One morning I walked over to the office to get a cup of tea and the sun was up and I was on Eastern Standard Time and didn't realize it was 5:30. I knocked on the office door and then I noticed there was a sign that said they open at 7, but someone came and opened the door and I was able to get some tea, which was very nice of them. There is a lovely picnic area/gazebo across the street from the hotel also. The only negative thing I can say about the room is that there was an old leather chair in our room that had seen better days, and the beds were pretty soft. The wi-fi was intermittent, as was the TV, but I think those problems are not unexpected given the location of the hotel. Otherwise, the walls had beautiful pictures and a large wood hanging laser inscribed with a map of Yosemite. We enjoyed our stay and felt comfortable.“
