“biscuits “sent from heaven” Keyshia Cole voice Stopped by John O’Groats for some pre archery lesson fuel. Off rip, I knew it was gonna be bomb because my boyfriend actually has great taste and recommended it. I mean why would I date him otherwise? But I still had to be the one to taste it to believe it. Those biscuits put them on the MAP! I had lost faith in biscuits & gravy in this city. I have been let down time and time again because it was so weak. But these gave me hope for the future 🥹 I could see this place being my breakfast new normal. So if you ever want to stop by there, hit me up beforehand and we can brunch together🫶🏼🍽️ this is the type of place I would have FOMO over“

“Call ahead! The wait at the sandwich section can - at times - be a bit slow & tedious and can cost you half your lunch hour. Plus I don't love the fact that their default channel is "Fix News". Still, the salad bar is fabulous. Also, Maggie and Ruby absolutely rock! :-)“

“Great breakfast entrees including super tasty pancakes and great omlettes. Parking lot is tiny and usually full. Prepare for a wait on weekends by late morning. One of the better casual breakfast spots near USC.
Parking: Small parking lot. Be prepared to park on the street.“

“We wanted breakfast food and ordered the salmon bagel sandwich and breakfast burrito. Both were delicious and wait staff were very helpful and quick. The restaurant itself is a bit sparse but was comfortable to eat in.
Dietary restrictions: They had vegan options and substitute milk“

“Our Elite Tabletop Family cannot say enough great things about Cafe 50’s! From the way we were GREETED, TREATED, & SERVED, to the way they’ve continued to treat our daughter like FAMILY since she’s arrived in Santa Monica. They’ve been nothing less than spectacular and are the epitome of what a True, neighborhood nostalgic 50’s diner encompasses. No other establishment has ever provided fun toys & items of entertainment while waiting for our food. We thank Benjamin for that! Victor the GM checked on our table and made sure Kim our waitress was taking care of us! Kim was a fantastic server and we never once waited for a refill on anything. The staff @ Cafe 50’s take pride in their customer service & establishment and they deserve all the recognition! You have our family’s support for life Cafe 50’s! We would ❤️ to support you, supporting the local community!“

“This secret coffee breakfast and lunch spot is the best tasting food and value in the Westside bar none. Tucked into a lobby spot on Sawtelle, you can get a giant delicious egg breakfast with fantastic potatoes or chicken sausage for under $20. Coffees, waffles, sandwiches top notch. Why go to all of the douchey influencer spots. Great service and the guys here are always friendly pros. Check it out!!!“

“Food was good, you could sit inside or out. The service was good but we had just finished our food and we were finishing up our drinks when our waitress just leans across the table to start restocking items. She got one walked away then came back a minute or two later 5 times. Never said excuse me or anything. There were plenty of open tables. Just didn't feel like she was very polite. My and my friends opinion.“

“The Original Pancake House in Redondo Beach is one of our absolute favorite breakfast and brunch spots. This place is pure heaven, especially for my 7-year-old son, whose love for pancakes knows no bounds – he'd probably eat them for every meal if he could! Thankfully, their children's menu wisely includes a half order of his beloved chocolate chip pancakes, which makes him one happy camper.
And speaking of pancakes, the name doesn't lie – their selection is incredible! I've counted about 20 different kinds, which means there's always something new and delicious to try. While my son is a predictable fan of anything chocolate, I love upgrading my usual order to one of their signature pancakes. My personal favorites are the coconut pancakes, the vibrant fresh strawberry pancakes, and for a savory twist, the bacon pancakes.
Beyond the glorious pancakes, their omelets are equally fantastic. You really can't go wrong with either the classic ham or bacon omelet. If you're leaning a bit healthier, their fresh vegetarian or mushroom omelets are also delicious and satisfying choices.
My wife, for her part, has been completely hooked on their homemade corned beef hash during our last couple of visits. It's a rich blend of corned beef, potatoes, onions, and heavy cream, perfectly topped with two eggs cooked any style. And the best part? It comes with four of their famous potato pancakes, served with a choice of applesauce or sour cream. It's truly a hearty and flavorful dish. Just FYI, she never finishes it and usually eats about half and saves the other half for another meal.
One of my favorite things about The Original Pancake House is their attentive staff. They seem to make it their mission to top off your water or coffee before you even have to think about it. I absolutely love places that do that – no awkward waving down a server just to get a refill!
Now, if you're feeling adventurous or just want something extra special, you absolutely must try their Dutch Baby. This oven-baked pancake is served with whipped butter, a squeeze of lemon, and a dusting of powdered sugar. It's big enough to share, light, airy, and utterly delicious. Seriously, try it at least once – you won't regret it!
The food is consistently fantastic, the atmosphere is cozy, and it's simply a joy to start our day here. This place is a solid 5 out of 5 stars for us!“

“Auntie Beulah's isn't just a meal, it's an experience. From the fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits to the hella hot biscuit's fiery kick, every bite was a flavor explosion.Let's start with the star of the show: the poutine gravy fries. Creamy, cheesy gravy blanketing perfectly crispy fries - it's the ultimate comfort food, elevated. The chicken tenders were juicy and perfectly seasoned, offering a delicious crunch with each bite. For a sweet treat, the French toast sticks were heavenly. Dipped in maple syrup, they were soft, fluffy, and the perfect way to satisfy a sweet tooth. But wait, there's more! The smothered biscuits were smothered in rich, flavorful gravy, making them a hearty and satisfying dish. And the cheesy grits? Oh my, the cheesy grits! Creamy, cheesy, and oh-so-good, they were the perfect side to any dish.Speaking of sides, the banana pudding was a delightful ending to the feast. Fresh bananas layered with creamy pudding and whipped cream - it was the perfect touch of sweetness to top off an incredible meal.A special shoutout to the hella hot biscuit. This one packs a punch! If you love spicy food, this is definitely for you. It's not for the faint of heart, but for those who dare, it's a flavor adventure worth exploring. The service was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall warm and inviting atmosphere. Auntie Beulah's is more than just a restaurant; it's a place where you can feel the love and passion poured into every dish. I can't wait to go back and explore more of their menu!Highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for delicious Southern comfort food with a modern twist. 5 stars all around!P.S. You won't regret ordering everything I mentioned, but if you have to choose, the poutine gravy fries and hella hot biscuit are must-tries!“

“What can I say? It’s across the street from a busy high school, it’s on Sunset Blvd. and there are quite a few encampments that you’ll need to step over to get to the front door. BUT…. The craving needed to be satisfied. Crêpes with the strawberry topping on the side (I guess it would be strawberry SIDING then?!), hash browns crisp, 1 egg over medium, turkey bacon crisp and an Arnold Palmer extra ice please and it HAS to be from iHop. The food always tastes good, the atmosphere is just fine (it’s clean!), and the service was great. The man who helped me was super friendly, very accommodating and he laughed at the joke I made! If you have to have crêpes at 1:00 a.m. or 5:30 p.m. go to iHop. You know you’re not eating crêpes in Paris at Galette Café next to the River Seine.
As a matter of fact I’m going to have that very meal delivered by Uber eats, not from Galette Café I mean that’s just a little too far from West Hollywood it’ll get cold but, I can pretend.“

“My husband and I loved the Philly cheesesteaks! We met the owner, Sergio, and his wife. They are the sweetest couple! The food was delicious and the friendly interactions were great. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a filling meal and a reasonable price! We got two Philly cheesesteaks, one with fries and the other with potato salad, and a large fountain drink to share. Total was $33. They had just enough jalapeños to give that spice, but not too many that it was distracting from the other ingredients. Come check them out!“

“It’s not fancy, it’s just good food served up fast and hot! Big menu with lots of options. We did a very casual Father’s Day brunch here. Be mindful that parking can be sticky so not there is a lot a block or two, to the North. Also, it can get busy on weekend mornings!

“Honestly very impressed with this place. Don't expect fine dining or anything unusual. But if you're looking for classic diner fare you won't be disappointed. Got their big French toast (available all day) which is a feast of breakfast food (eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, and of course 4 pieces of French toast).“

“After a day of traveling, I arrived at IHOP in search of 1. comfy seating and 2. food. I skimmed the menu hoping to find something light but tasty. I noticed they had so many different kinds of pancakes! I decided to get the short stack and a glass of milk. My milk was so refreshing and my pancakes were delicious! It’d been years since I ate at IHOP. The restaurant was so clean and the staff were super friendly. This definitely the spot if you want to sit in a comfortable spot and enjoy a meal. It was mid afternoon and so quiet and calm.“

“I've been coming here for years, for many reasons: the people are friendly, the atmosphere is inviting, and the food is perfection. My faves are the breakfast burrito and Spanish latte. The juices are great too and my son loves the croissants. It is a little pricey, but the portions are big. They have a big parking lot in the back, along with indoor and outdoor seating.“

“While we are in LA, we decided to get breakfast on Thanksgiving day. Luckily this place was open! We ordered the spicy hot link breakfast, pancakes, and pupusas. Literally the BEST pupusas we’ve ever eaten. Perfectly seasoned and so flavorful. The pancakes were so soft and fluffy, they fell apart. The flavor was sweet and really satisfied my sugar craving. The hot links were spicy enough for any spice lovers. The hash browns! Omg the hash browns were too delicious. They were perfectly browned. I was so full but I had to take a couple bites of them. Portions are huge and affordable! I could not recommend this place enough! This will be my go to place for breakfast (and lunch). Best Salvadorian food ever! The place is small and unassuming on the outside, but reminds me of a mother’s house when you go in. It’s cozy and the man at the register was very kind.
Vegetarian options: They have pancakes and vegetarian pupusas. I got the bean and cheese ones that are my favorite
Kid-friendliness: Kids would love the pancakes and you get 3 huge ones for $8-$9“
“Your average donut place with coffee and pastries. Only cash, has an ATM but just take cash. Nothing out of the ordinary. It is simple and easy. Pastries are really good. Only outstanding thing is how cheap the donuts and coffees are, really good price.“
