What a gem and aren’t you lucky she’s working for your company because she is really 10, but you only allow me here to give her a five star. Not only is the food very good, she made a great margarita to allow us to sleep on our afternoon flight. “Great food. I ordered the chicken blt and chips and salsa. The salsa wasn't hot enough but ooh well it was good enough. Andrew the bartender was amazing. The karoke was nice. My only problem is the karoke host did not at any time wipe down any mics after countless people used it and with the drinks flowing and people having a good time like me that made me nervous. I wanted so bad to get up there and sing.“

“Loved this place, glad we could stop by here for some lovely food and drinks…. We were a bigger group of 8 and they do have sitting in the back for big groups but guess 8 was the upper limit…
I tried BEYOND BURGER and it was good, not great but liked it overall. My friends tried protein plate, fish and taco etc and everyone loved the food
I also had tequila based cocktail which was nice
The server was very kind and the vibe of the place was good
Overall would surely recommend visiting them if you are in the area“

“Food was delicious and our waiter was super kind! She even went out of her way to offer me and my friends katsu, an udon katsu bowl, as well as a sample of a new katsu rice hand-roll they're working on (picture attached) all on the house, which was awesome! All the portions were great, and we still emptied all of our plates, leaving stuffed. Highly recommended!“

“Food: Ordered Malatang and Street Squid to share, and both were great. The Malatang, which feeds two people, had a nice heat to it (take caution, those who are heat intolerant) and a nice assortment of ingredients. The Street Squid was addictive and tender. Overall, great first impression. Who knew this little gem was sitting in our backyard!

Service: No complaints! We were waited on by two guys, who checked in on us a few times.

Ambiance: Casual, modern, retro.

We are soccer fans and the barmen all looked after us by ensuring we could watch our teams in the Champions League. \nPlenty of TVs, friendly staff, drinks well priced, tasty snacks and bar meals. “Came for fish and chips 🤣 nothing Irish here but the burgers are GOOD and the people are FRIENDLY.. We asked why it was named IRISH, they gave us Irish swag 🍀 and green jello shots....Dive bar, friendly bikers came/went. I will definitely return if back in the area.“

“Its been a long time establishment in the community catering to its devoted clientele, especially to its hispanic and LGBTQ community. As recently as last Friday night, the Silver Platter has prevailed in its effort to provide an outlet of entertainment and appreciation for the community that it supports.
They've upgraded their environment and at one time also provided valet parking, however, with the current stringent limited parking availability, it's been difficult to accommodate and support this historic bar; very much worth a visit though. With the support of those who know this bar well, they should be commended to continue to support a mainstay of L.A.

It's been a while since I posted the above review. It's January 31, 2026. The Silver Platter, subject to being evicted and demolished should definitely be relocated. Its historic value and undeniably a dive bar, provides an ambiance that is unique to its community. Those that can't appreciate the need and value of this establishment in serving the community are too quick to criticize its patrons and deficiencies. This place is a haven to many. It exists to enjoy a cold beer, enjoy the music, people watch and have some fun. We should do what we can to keep the Silver Platter thriving!“

“We dropped in for breakfast. Partner says great coffee! Had avocado toast and corned beef hash. So tasty!! Had some deeee-lish pickled red onions on top. Reasonable pricing. Beautiful staff that was very attentive. Seems also like a great rendition of an Irish pub right on the beach and near many of the Hermosa motels. Can't go wrong here!! Tie one on and dont have too far to crawl. Weeeee“

“It was nice that they were open before 5pm because of our flight schedule.
The waitress was super nice.
My daughter and I were ordering Ahi Nachos, she suggested to share.
It was very delicious but huge, it was a great suggestion for us.
My husband said chicken in sandwich was hard, so I put 4 stars.
Our son in law liked his pizza.
Music wasn’t loud at all, maybe because there were not so many people because of the time.“
