“i tried cafe hopping and this place really hit the spot! there is free wifi, but im not sure if there's any outlets so come with your devices fully charged. i ordered the matcha bliss which came out perfectly and quick. if you like your matchas sweet, then this is the place to go. the menus tell you what's in the drink too, so ur not left wondering what's in it. i would definitely come back here again to study! not too packed and quiet environment“

“LOVE LOVE LOVE. The BESTTTT hot chocolate in all of Berkeley and can confidently say that I've had in my life. I've been going here for probably 3 years when I need a pick me up or craving chocolate and have never been disappointed. I've tried their hot chocolates, their coffees (the mocha is amazing), their pastries, you literally cannot go wrong. Everyone there is so sweet, have never had a bad experience. It's really small inside, always pretty crowded with people studying or reading. It's a bit of a hike from campus but worth it.“

“After trying many matcha einspanner drinks in LA, I've been craving one in the Bay Area. I tried the iced mindspanner matcha and ceremonial matcha latte with suggested sweetness. The iced mindspanner matcha had a very light matcha flavor, so I'd definitely recommend adding extra matcha for $1.25. This one didn't compare to the other einspanner matcha drinks I've had in LA. But, there wasn't an extra charge for oat milk so that was nice. The ceremonial matcha latte had a good matcha flavor and was definitely the better drink of the two.“

“Starter bakery is a spacious, modern bakery located a block away from the Rockridge BART station. There is a lot of indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. Starter Bakery's pastries can be found in many coffee shops around Berkeley and Oakland but I was super excited to discover that they have a couple of their own locations. The service is quick and friendly. The staff go above and beyond to make your experience enjoyable. One day I went at 7:30AM and the scones were not glazed yet but the staff glazed one fresh for me. I go to Starter frequently and it is my mid-week sweet treat. Everyone deserves a little treat to get them through the week! Anyways, these are some of the pastries I've gotten so far: -Twice baked ham and cheese croissant: I was so blown away by this croissant. The croissant itself was flaky and served warm. On top of the croissant there is this delicious combination of ham, caramelized onions, a hint of Dijon mustard -Dried orange and cranberry scone (seasonal) This scone flavor is one of my favorites! There is a perfect balance of sweet, citrus, and freshness. The scone is moist and the glaze on top compliments each bite. -Raspberry Kouign Amann (seasonal) -Dried ginger and pear Kouign Amann (seasonal) Every Kouign Amann that I've had from Starter was delicious. The fillings have strong flavors and the pastry itself is crisp with a taste of caramelized sugar at the bottom. It is not overwhelmingly sweet and there is a pleasant balance of sweet/savory. I will continue to come back to Starter Bakery and next time I want to try their breads and sandwiches! I've been to a couple of bakeries in the Bay Area and Starter is a stand out.“

I decided to treat everyone and my choice was I have to say that they make the best apple fritter anywhere and having a cuppa coffee in the morning may sound like a bit of a sugar overload but it's my happy place . we didn't stop there. I also bought regular donuts bars and cream puffs and you just get started. You can't stop.. “iScream for ice cream! As a child, it was always special when my family would take me here for a sweet treat. Fast forward, now that I'm dairy-free, I haven't been to iScream since I was a teen but I'm so glad that I've come back with my childhood best friend! My best friend and I came on a weekday afternoon. It was the perfect sunny day for dessert. The ice cream parlor is on the smaller end with a couple of tables, but it mainly operates as take-out. Plenty of happy families and customers come in, and service has always been inviting and kind. Operating as an artisan ice cream shop, you can taste the quality of their ingredients, plus free samples. They offer traditional and specialty flavors as well as different sizes and cups and cones. Their Burnt Caramel was my go-to as a child but this go around I had baby scoop of the Pink Grapefruit Sorbet. The Pink Grapefruit Sorbet was sweet and the grapefruit flavor came at the end, though it melted quite fast. My only wish is that they offer more vegan flavors! My friend enjoyed the Marzipan. iScream is a special place ice cream lovers gravitate towards on Solano Ave. Find street parking in the area. There's always a group of happy customers coming in and out! I'm looking forward to coming back again soon.“

Tonya was enthusiastic and flexible about helping me set up the event.The event was run by Darren with help from Siyoon. Darren was patient, engaging, and deeply knowledgeable. He guided us through every step of the process, giving us tips and tricks along the way, and by the end we had both a lot of pizzas to enjoy right then and plenty of dough to bring home to make more ourselves. Would come again if I'm around in the neighborhood. There was only 1 person working at the time I went, so keep that in mind to be okay with being patient when there's multiple customers!“
