“Masa Ramen BistroStopped off at Masa Ramen Bistro for an early Saturday dinner. Street parking, but it wasn't an issue. Only a handful of people in the restaurant. These are the dishes we ordered in descending order of my preference.Diamond Head - this ramen bowl is legit. Soup is rich and creamy. Noodles have a good chew to them. The flavor is great and you get a nice whole soft boiled egg.Broke the Mouth - we ordered a 3 out of 5 which was spicy but not knock me over spicy. It was kind of interesting with a mountain of shredded parmesan in there. Despite it being tasty, I think my preference would be a straight black garlic version (Kuni).POG - pretty sweet and tropicalDa Kine Chicken - the chicken was well fried and marinated. I don't think there was much seasoning on the breading though. Also thought the pairing with the ponzu sauce was a bit odd.Bruddah Brussels - these were brussel sprout halves, coated with panko and parmesan and fried. Hot and tender in the middle. Just wasn't working for our family and it largely went uneaten. Normally when we're getting fried brussel sprouts, they're crispy, greasy, well-seasoned, and gone faster than the Flash. All in all, I'm always ecstatic when I find a good bowl of ramen in the East Bay. They are just so few and far between. Definitely will come back for that and maybe try out some of the other appetizers.“

“This places never disappoint. Visited today due to the gloomy weather. And ohh man the spicy cheese ramen hit the spot. The fried boneless mild chicken amazing as always. Would recommend this place to anyone who in the mood for Korean food. Fast and fresh. Thanks once again staff.“

“Excellent selections and tastes. Not too expensive and high quality dishes. We tried a number of dishes and surprisingly everything was wonderful. Really! Atmosphere is jovial and a bit noisy, but in a good way. Definitely worth a visit, even if you are not a Japanese food fan.“

“Got the spicy tan tan ramen. Came packaged with the broth, noodles, and toppings all separated and spill free. I ordered from a delivery service because the reviews mentioned a long wait/cramped seating - tasted fresh and came hot. The egg was perfectly cooked and jammy, noodles had a good bite to them, broth was rich and creamy (not really spicy imo, although it came with a spice powder and I used all of it still wasn’t as spicy as I hoped but very flavorful) took one star off for the chicken. It was ground too fine and I barely ended up tasting it in the ramen. It gave a very gritty and chalky texture which I didn’t like. If the chicken wasn’t ground up to dust / came as a couple of small pieces the ramen may have been more enjoyable. Still good though, Id probably get a different one next time.“

“My friend and I wanted ramen and this place has excellent vegetarian ramen. It's as good as Marufuku, without the lines and the noise. One portion is big enough to share, but since a serving has one egg, it's easier to get two portions and take home what you can't eat.“

“Our go-to place for sushi! A cozy, romantic spot. They make pictures with the sauces - fun for kids! Update: eating out less, kid grown, but still really love this place for a cozy self-date. Great service and the food is always exceptional. On street parking, which isn't too bad.“

“Not kidding when I say it’s the best sushi I’ve had in recent memory. The Bansho House Roll with shrimp and tempura salmon literally melted in my house. I normally like sushi, but I don’t love it. I LOVED their sushi. My family also absolutely loved their ramen. Don’t walk here, RUN. Cherry on the cake was that it’s a cute little place.“

“Fairly good and fast sushi. Good pick of specialties and offers rice and noodle dishes for those who don't like sushi. The ramen was actually really good.Feb.2024 update: ordered here several times but keep forgetting to review it and post pictures. We odes quite a bit of sushi and they were all really good in taste and quality. The rolls are pretty big and you get your money's worth. The fish was fresh and melted in my mouth. My son got the tempura udon and the tempura was really good but they didn't give enough of the accompanying sauce. Because we odes over$40 in good they added free chicken Karaage. The chicken was okay, the pieces were just a bit too small though like they were crumbs from the bottom of the frying basket. The taste was a bit too salty for my liking.Overall, I would definitely order from here again. ?“

“The food is amazing! My go to order is Shrimp Fried Rice with an order of Egg rolls and a mango tea! The service is great, everyone is kind and greets you when you come in! It's usually not packed when i go, but it definitely should be because it's great here! The only issue is the parking spaces, it's limited but if you're lucky you'll find some, close by!“

“God bless em! We were looking for a special meal at 9pm on Christmas Eve and Ippudo was OPEN and serving up the best ramen we could ever ask for. They were friendly and attentive- the server suggested her favorite- the spicy pork ramen, and it was INCREDIBLE. I would absolutely go back there, and thank you for being open on Christmas Eve. Those employees are angels. ?Vegetarian options: They also have great meat options. :)“

“We mostly come for the atmosphere and friendly service, great cocktails, and awesome music. Unfortunately, the food tends to miss the mark. I really want to love it, but it seems to have declined over the years. If craving ramen, I would choose elsewhere. Please also beware of ordering ramen for takeout, as it comes cold, and with a long wait. Best experience is in-house.“

“Food is competitive to other spots in the area, but what I do like about katana-ya is that it has wonderful variety of Japanese food. It may not have superior sushi or ramen but i go here for dishes that I can’t get anywhere else in this area.“

“Ramen restaurants are popping up everywhere nowadays! Yummy house is good and the prices are competitive with other ramen restaurants. I had the vegetable ramen and it appears to be the only ramen dish that don't use pork broth. For $12.99 it was a tasty bowl of portions. I also had the salmon tuna poke and that was a very tasty treat that I took to go and ate it at home while watching Fubar on Netflix, lol. Sorry, i forgot to take a picture of the ramen bowl. ?“

“I came to this restaurant because I really really needed to pee. Other restaurants refused to give me the key. However, the owner here was kind and very understanding. Super nice and has a great attitude. Gave me the key in exchange for ordering food and holding my credit card which of course is fine because keys are expensive to replace especially through the landlord.I decided to get the potstickers as it was my first time in Berkeley, the potstickers are amazing. Tasty, fresh, meaty and crispy. Parking was a challenge but I’m definitely going to be back to try their Ramen. I mean, Ramen is in the name. Should’ve tried it but I went Korean BBQ before I came here.Thank you again for the tasty food and for letting me use the outside bathroom! Kudos ? 감사합니다“

“Very good Kale vegan ramen. Very good service. A bit pricey ($15 for a bowl of ramen). Seating in was at narrow counters but the staff's service was good enough to more than compensate for the limited space. All in all a very good experience. Recommended.“

“I always come here since they've opened!! The food is always super fresh and tasty!! Lots of flavor made with lots of love!!:) Today I ordered from doordash & we all know doordash can be a bit goofy when it comes to modifying orders... Not an issue when you have awesome people working at this restaurant:) I called to tell them the issue I was having on the app.. I wanted to add-extra macaroni to my order (who doesn't love the macaroni!! I mean come-on it's the best!) the nice lady who I was speaking on the phone with told me not to worry about it; fixed my order and gave me extra macaroni - no extra charge! It's the little things that make me happy and us customers happy! Now I'm happy and full :D“
