“Got the spicy tan tan ramen. Came packaged with the broth, noodles, and toppings all separated and spill free. I ordered from a delivery service because the reviews mentioned a long wait/cramped seating - tasted fresh and came hot. The egg was perfectly cooked and jammy, noodles had a good bite to them, broth was rich and creamy (not really spicy imo, although it came with a spice powder and I used all of it still wasn’t as spicy as I hoped but very flavorful) took one star off for the chicken. It was ground too fine and I barely ended up tasting it in the ramen. It gave a very gritty and chalky texture which I didn’t like. If the chicken wasn’t ground up to dust / came as a couple of small pieces the ramen may have been more enjoyable. Still good though, Id probably get a different one next time.“
“My friend and I wanted ramen and this place has excellent vegetarian ramen. It's as good as Marufuku, without the lines and the noise. One portion is big enough to share, but since a serving has one egg, it's easier to get two portions and take home what you can't eat.“
“I must say, from the service to everything I tried today. It was all amazing! Quick and friendly service, flavorful dishes and awesome drinks. Nothing short of 5 star service. To know there’s a Anime themed ramen shop in the neighborhood brings me joy! I grew up watching pokemon and this place definitely brings back childhood memories and puts me in my element. Thank you all for such amazing service and food!“
“This is a place of culture.. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure was playing as we walked in. Everything was good from noodle texture to individual ingredients. Also dig the layout and interior design of the restaurant. Their exterior design is pretty unassuming, which makes the interior design that much better.Side note: The website hasn't been updated so the prices were a bit higher than expected. Still reasonable considering how bad prices are in Bay Area.“
“Coming here feels like a glimpse of Japan as a super tiny diner. The ambiance embodies that of a train station with signs and tv's stationed to tell you when the next train is. And there's solo seating with borders covered up too so you can eat in private. Pretty cool if you ask me. If you are a solo diner, this is the place to come. But I did come with a few friends, and we were able to get the window seating, but we just had to stand up to eat. But you order your food through a kiosk and wait for your food to be delivered through a pass-through. I got the black garlic ramen and it definitely tasted good but wasn't anything to really rave about. It tastes like a simple, classic ramen. I love the ambiance and structure of the place and if I really felt like coming here personally by myself to grab a bowl here, I definitely would. If you wanna get that peep of Japan, definitely make your trip here!“
“Sobo Ramen has a 2 for 1 Happy Hour from 5pm-7pm Mon-Fri. Everybody wins!I just got the email announcing the offer and ate their again last night. I've eaten and ordered take out from Sobo at least 20 times. Since I like it spicy, I get the Black Garlic Tonkatsu which has this little pool of delicious black garlic oil floating on top. Its all so rich and satisfying. This is definitely my favorite Ramen place in the entire bay area.“
“Your quest for ramen is over. Itani is the best ramen spot hands down. I have tried countless other places across the bay and everytime I find myself saying it's not as good as Itani. I have yet to be disappointed with any item on there menu. Slurp up my friends, it doesn't get better than this.“
“It's been years since I've had Mensho in SF, and claim it as my favorite in the Bay Area. Unfortunately, location and finding parking discouraged from me going back. I've gotten their a5 wagyu and it was absolutely divine, and I miss it. Sooo I finally got to try the Oakland location, and much to my surprise I was there at 6:30 pm and was able to get a table. Lots of tables were available on this particular Thursday night. Street parking wasn't that bad either. I got the a5 wagyu shoyu and the wagyu melted in my mouth like I remembered. The blend of flavors just harmonized, not taking over the other. We also got the signature ramen which was really meaty. It was really good too and had a hint of smokiness. The meat just wasnt as melt in your mouth as the other. Enoki mushroom chips is a must as well. Service was really fast. We were out within 35 min. They're really friendly too. We were also greeted with salutations by all staff. I can't wait to go back, and more often.“
