“This restaurant is out of the fray of crazy Berkeley traffic, in a quaint brick building off the beaten track. Parking was easy and we walked into a warm atmosphere with high ceilings, long tables with comfortable chairs and professional service. The food was exquisitely presented, and the taste of the food was intricate. It was the best experience that I have ever had at a Thai restaurant. I highly recommend it!“

“First time eating in this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. We had the steamed dumplings with crab, garlic fried rice, whole branzino with fish sauce and green beans with mushrooms and half half purple rice and jasmine rice. They were all delicious.
The steamed dumplings came out right away but we had to wait awhile for the next dish. Then the green beans and mushrooms came out which were perfectly crispy and in an oyster/fish garlic sauce. The next dish didn’t come out for a long time. We were so hungry that we essentially ate the entire side before our second two dishes came out.
It was obviously not our server’s fault. The kitchen could have timed it better.
We did not have any beverages nor dessert. The bill to $148 with an above average tip. We will be back but it’s not going to be a regular thing due to the price.“

We tried:
• Pad Thai Tofu — recommend but their Tofu isn’t deep fried like some other places. Maybe Inquire or push for this if it’s important.
• Mushroom Dumplings 🥟 — also recommend
• Mango Sticky Rice — decent; not the best I’ve had, but still enjoyable
• Deep Fried Veggie Rolls — pretty good
• Thai Iced Tea — solid and refreshing

Overall, we had a nice experience. The food was tasty, service was attentive, and it’s a great casual spot for a date night.“

“We've only done takeouts from this spot. They have some tables for dine in but it seems most people get takeouts or delivery from here.

The Khao Man Gai (Thai style) favor is good and their soup is one of the best chicken soup I've had. However, they reduced the amount of the chicken recently (compared to when they just opened), and the thickness of the meat is also much thinner(1/4 or 1/3 of an inch at almost at the thickest part). I don't like restaurants that do this and would prefer they increase the price. Otherwise you get the food and realize it's not as filling as it used to be.

Considering it's just rice, sauce and cucumber as the other ingredients, I think the price they charge warrants more chicken meat.

5 stars for the flavor but minus 1 star for the portion size.“

I can customize my food by asking for nothing spicy... and they comply! However, I must say that I'm addicted to the Crab Fried Rice!!! I don't have to customize any of it. I was even brave enough to order the Tom Tom soup which is Hot and Sour soup. This soup is a tasty medicinal soup for any stomach issues or cold and flu issues. What I like the most about this soup 🍲 is that my feet are dancing while I am basking in this flavorful dish You owe it to yourself to get wrapped up in the warmth and and flavorful aroma while healing your body and soul. “Just wrapped up a fantastic dinner at Sukko Thai and I have to say, every dish hit the mark. We ordered the chicken pad Thai, mango fried rice, and basil eggplant, and honestly, it was tough to pick a favorite.

The pad Thai had that perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and savory, with chicken that was tender and not overcooked. The mango fried rice was a standout for me. Sweet chunks of ripe mango paired with perfectly seasoned rice made for a dish I'm already thinking about ordering again. And the basil eggplant? What really impressed me was how fresh everything tasted. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in their ingredients. No heavy, greasy aftertaste, just clean, vibrant Thai flavors done right.

“Lao/Thai Cuisine family favorite! Small business owners who serve their heart and soul into their customers!

We came for New Years Eve as our plan to BBQ got ruined due to the rain that day.

We started with some hot tea, sodas and even Thai tea.

We ordered a little bit of everything and shared in between all 10 of us.

• Egg Rolls were extra crispy (exactly how we love them) and filling was yummy.
• Chicken & Beef Pad Thai which were perfectly sautéed and with a squeeze of lime on top was perfect!
• Lamb Curry was a hit on our table. Just like it came in; it was gone easily! The curry sauce with white rice is a must try!
• Salmon Curry was another hit. Grandma loved it! And if she’s happy we were happy!
• Crab Fried Rice was really good and it was big chunks of crab. Flavors brought me back to the street food of Chiang Mai. A lot of places lack on that detail.
• Pho Lao Style was delicious and with that extra lime squeeze was even better. Lots of noodles and beef to go through. Very filling. Had to order it since it was so cold outside.
• Spicy Eggplant was a little too spicy for me but family enjoyed it!
• We also had 3 other veggie dishes I can’t remember the names which were devoured very quickly!

For dessert:

• Mango Sticky Rice was okay but nothing special. Mango was perfectly ripe in a way it wasn’t too ripe if you know what I mean.
• Fried Banana with Strawberry Ice Cream. Delicious! Dessert is huge!

Every dish is packed with the freshest ingredients. The flavors and textures are amazing. Restaurants in Thailand don’t make a Pad Thai as delicious as the Pad Thai at Bua Luang—believe us, we have tried Pad Thai all over Thailand and we still longed for the Pad Thai at Bua Luang. The chef at this restaurant is a culinary master!

Not only are the dishes at this restaurant superb, the atmosphere is serene and delightful. The indoor space is clean, cozy, and modern with soft old-world touches and whimsical lighting. I pulled up their website while standing outside, and looked at the "Chef's Suggestions" list. I thought the Grilled Short Rib with Garlic Noodle dish sounded good, so I went for it. Everyone inside was extremely friendly to me and polite while I placed my order and waited for a short while. I like my food spicy, but I forgot to say anything about wanting extra heat while ordering. The gentleman at the register said he could include hot sauces for me, and I thanked him. I got my food to go as I planned to walk back to the hotel to eat, but when I opened it 5 minutes later in my room I was not disappointed. The meal was beautifully put together, and it was delicious. I squeezed the orange over the marinated beef, and I added the extra hot sauces: fantastic! I highly recommend trying Tha Siam if you are in the area.“
