“love love love it here! my mom and I stayed in fairfax for a whole week and we ate here several times. food is amazing, atmosphere is amazing, staff is amazing. special shout out to our main man Ty who remembered us by name and was always super fun and friendly every time we came in. he may even play you a few songs on his guitar if you’re lucky. this place was definitely a highlight of our trip and i’ll miss going there when we leave. we could also tell that this place is a huge hit with the locals which is always nice to see. thanks for all of the great food, drinks, conversations, and songs Barefoot Cafe! until next time! -Ebony“

“I always have a great time, great drinks and great food at Stillwater but today I got their pork chops and holy shit was this dish unreal. The 2 thinly sliced and perfectly bone-in grilled pork chops were accompanied by delicious mashed/pureed turnips (I think), broccolini and delicious grilled pears. Expertly done and super seasonal. “I can’t recommend the Garden Cafe enough! I had a wonderful first experience here today having lunch. The food was delicious & nutritious- I got the Salmon Greek Salad (comes with garlic bread) and the “San Rafael Sunrise” drink, which is a juice including veggies and chia seeds. Lots of seating options indoors and outdoors with good lighting. Free wifi for those looking for a good study spot.
The service was AMAZING and contributed to creating such a friendly, inviting atmosphere. I have to give a special shout-out to Miguel, who was so gracious and apologetic about my juice being made wrong the first time. They were out of beets and I believe Miguel called someone and had more beets brought in while I was eating lunch so that I had a corrected juice with beets to enjoy before I finished eating! To be clear, I told Miguel it was completely fine that they were out of beets but he insisted it wasn’t fair to not get what I ordered and made sure I got my beet juice. I can vouch for how much the Garden Cafe values each customer there! I will be recommending to friends and coming back.“

“Outstanding restaurant. My husband was in a wheelchair and they were extremely accommodating! The scallops were perfectly prepared and sat upon the best risotto I have ever had! The cocktails were refreshing and beautifully presented. They surprised us with a delicious complimentary crème brûlée for our Anniversary! Again...this is a MUST go to restaurant for foodies who want a gorgeous view of ocean on top of amazing food and drink!“

“We had friends coming to visit from Arizona and wanted to take them somewhere special for dinner. We heard about the newly reopened Paseo in Mill Valley and decided to try it. We were welcomed by the friendly manager Kevin as we entered. After giving us a tour we were seated in the main dining room by a cozy fireplace. We ordered cocktails along with a charcuterie board and roasted Brussels sprouts. At the recommendation of our knowledgeable waiter Will, my sister and I ordered the beet salad. One of our guests had the Market Green Salad and another raved about her Potato Leek Soup. Wanting to try different entrees we ordered California Halibut, Braised Osso Busco, Mary's Chicken Breast, Rib Eye Steak, and Roasted Duck Breast with orange glaze. The taste and presentation exceeded our expectations. As we were enjoying coffee along with Chocolate Indulgence, a (layered torte) and a Peanut Crunch Bar, Chef Branden approached our table to see how we enjoyed our meal. We all told him how much we enjoyed the food, his beautiful presentation, and the smiling staff. We had a great five star experience and will definitely be back!“

“Really cute family friendly place. Food was delicious although on the expensive side. Had the Bulgogi Tacos, and my wife the morning tacos. Both were really good. Kids had their Mickey Mouse pancakes and they added chocolate chips when the kids asked for it. Very fast service, no wait on a Saturday morning. I would strongly recommend!

“The fish and chips are delicious!! Im a Brit so eaten a lot of them and must say that these were definitely in the top 3! Fish was super fresh and the batter nice and light.
I also had the huevos rancheros for breakfast on a different day and they were also great, nice blue corn tortillas!

“First time visit, meeting my 82 yo dad, so we were worried about the noise level in the restaurant. But the host when we checked in was amazing, and suggested that we wait five minutes and he was able to get a table in the back corner of the restaurant where it was much quieter. Amazing care!“

“This is a cute find. Croissants are buttery and flakes, very good.
We've been here from breakfast and lunch. The hamburgers are grass fed antibiotic free beef. Very good and filling. My husband has had the omelet and chorizo scramble also good. I usually order a latte and they bring it i a little tea pot so it fills my cup a few times and they have dairy alternatives.“

“Absolutely amazing little breakfast spot. Located at great location in downtown San Rafael and is one block away from 2 of the public parking structures. It is a pretty small spot so it could be packed at times and tight quarters. The food is absolutely amazing especially for the price that they charge. We got the huevos rancheros and the eggs Benedict with corn beef. I would definitely say the highlight was the corn beef and the eggs Benedict.. service was quick and they were always good on refills“

“Best food and drinks all weekend long. Marco was just an amazing individual. He made our anniversary even more special. My husband is a huge mezcal fan and asked if there was a drink the bartender could make and sure enough they made the most spectacular drink! We loved the food and drinks so much we stopped in after our long hike from Angel Island. I ordered the same mezcal drink as my husband did the night before. G was just an amazing bartender and helped us out with all the different types of mezcal and what characteristics they bring to the table. Marco even recognized us and said you guys are back. I have been telling everyone about your amazing restaurant and not just the quality of food but just the atmosphere and experience we had with the staff. They are all welcoming and make you feel like family.“

“Order the chicken club and a side of cole slaw - it’s enough for two… and the most amazing sandwich I’ve had in awhile! Bacon, avocado, cheese, onion, lettuce etc… chicken was moist and tender… and a bargain to boot… there were Dominican Univ students there… and they’re good at finding the bargains on 4th st…
This place looks a little dodgy from sidewalk looking in… but don’t let that fool you… it’s main sign is saying fish and chips - I’ll try that the next time…
