“This was my fiancé and I's first time dining here during brunch time and after our experience this morning, it won't be our last. Food was A1, our waiter Mike was a great server and and even better gentleman. He made the experience even better. We both tried the Belgian Waffle, shared an American Breakfast and a fruit plate and everything was delicious! Will be back next weekend ? 10/10!“

“Had lunch here last week. I thought the food was great! We both ordered a salad topped with salmon that was great. The salmon was seasoned nicely. After the main course we had bread pudding and coffee. The coffee (for 2) came in a French press and was really, really good! It's the first time for me that a restaurant came to the table with a French press!The service was excellent. I really didn't know what to expect going to lunch here but was very happy with our choice. You can also see the mountains out the window.“

“I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. I am a business owner a few doors down and I wandered in with a friend after work one night about a month ago. We were met with such incredible warmth from the staff and the environment itself, even without a reservation. We sat at the bar and were greeted by Josh, only to find out later that he is the owner. He made excellent recommendations on everything from our drinks to dessert. The bar didn’t feel isolated from the rest of the restaurant and guests, but rather was lively hub frequented by kitchen and serving staff and warmed by a smoldering wood fire. The coziest. We swooned for the poke appetizer, complete with house-made toasted, but not crisp, blue corn tortillas. The pork shoulder tacos—also to die for. I have to say though, that the star on the sidelines was the beans. I honestly didn’t know I could feel this way about beans…but I digress. Josh bounced around from table to table all night, never letting a single ball drop, making every guest feel like *his* guest. A pot de crème sealed the evening in perfect bliss. I’m back a month later with the same friend, eating different and somehow even more incredible entrees: ribeye, halibut and a rhubarb crisp for dessert. I scarcely ever take the time to write a review as I prefer to vote with my $ and my feet, but I simply couldn’t eat here again without taking the time to sing it’s praises. Eat here.“

“Last Saturday we ordered a lot of food from the melt. The whole crew was working overtime and we all ordered multiple items and the crew absolutely killed it. Lady working the cashier was absolutely amazing. Sweetest lady ever. The cooks were amazing and they have a very good crew working. The only names I received were Mar, Janeka, Dom and Tone but everyone was incredible and we definitely will be back.“

“Such a fun, iconic spot! I loved the atmosphere and it was really easy to find parking. The food was fantastic also, and I'd recommend in particular the bouillabaisse and the shrimp scampi.

The service, however, was lackadaisical. It took nearly an hour to get our food, and the server didn’t bring the appetizer first (in fact it didn't even arrive with the main meal). He seemed unconcerned about our experience.“

“I can’t recommend the Garden Cafe enough! I had a wonderful first experience here today having lunch. The food was delicious & nutritious- I got the Salmon Greek Salad (comes with garlic bread) and the “San Rafael Sunrise” drink, which is a juice including veggies and chia seeds. Lots of seating options indoors and outdoors with good lighting. Free wifi for those looking for a good study spot.
The service was AMAZING and contributed to creating such a friendly, inviting atmosphere. I have to give a special shout-out to Miguel, who was so gracious and apologetic about my juice being made wrong the first time. They were out of beets and I believe Miguel called someone and had more beets brought in while I was eating lunch so that I had a corrected juice with beets to enjoy before I finished eating! To be clear, I told Miguel it was completely fine that they were out of beets but he insisted it wasn’t fair to not get what I ordered and made sure I got my beet juice. I can vouch for how much the Garden Cafe values each customer there! I will be recommending to friends and coming back.“

“Delicious Breakfast at Pat's Café

I had a chance to stop by Pat's Cafe for breakfast during the work week. Even though I wasn't very hungry, the Polk Street Omelet caught my eye, so I ordered it along with a cup of regular coffee. The omelet is made with bacon, ham, bell peppers, onions, and cheddar cheese, and it comes with home fries and your choice of toast.

The coffee was still great! I loved its flavor, just as I did on my last visit a few years back. The omelet was as good as I hoped it would be. While sitting and sipping my coffee, I noticed how the staff interacted with other customers. I was so impressed with their attention to every table that I had to compliment Ricardo, who served my table, and the young lady who seemed to be the manager. They were both so attentive that it made me wish I could hire them if I were a restaurant owner!

The place is cozy and well-maintained. The service is excellent, the coffee is awesome, and the food is delicious.“

“This place is an awesome neighborhood cafe. The food is seriously good!!! I bet 90% of the business is local.

We checked google maps for 4.5 star or better and this place was on the list. The menu looked interesting. We were visiting from Phoenix and had been eating really heavy for the past few days (I think we gained 5lbs!). We wanted something light and different.

I had the turkey club with clam chowder. Very yummy, chowder was not as creamy as you would expect but was very fresh tasting, very good!!

Wife had the lobster and crab melt. Normally I would avoid this, I immediately think of a frozen old tasting seafood mix with cheese on toast. This sandwich was delicious!!!!!! Seafood was very fresh!!

The oldest had the Ultimate Breakfast, fluffy pancakes and everything cooked perfectly!!

The youngest had the Angus cheeseburger. He said it was very good and finished his meal before everyone else!!!

This place is a great neighborhood cafe with delicious food!!“

“My wife and I spontaneously went to PLS at 8:30 p.m. (Wednesday) and ordered a “The Supreme” shake and a “Blue Cheese Smash” burger.

Unfortunately there wasn't much going on, which was good for us. I don't think we waited 10 minutes for our food.

The shake was planned for my wife and the burger for me. The staff was so nice and arranged everything so that we got two spoons, two straws and the burger to share - really great.

Both the shake and the burger were great. If today wasn't our last evening in SF, we would go straight back ?!

The restaurant was clean and new.

“Just a great place to hang out in the neighborhood. They have a great selection of wines and really get the recommendations right. The food though, SO GOOD. The grilled cheese and fries are simple and yet, packed with flavors. You could easily go here for a glass of wine and leave full.

We ordered cocktails along with a charcuterie board and roasted Brussels sprouts. At the recommendation of our knowledgeable waiter Will, my sister and I ordered the beet salad. One of our guests had the Market Green Salad and another raved about her Potato Leek Soup. Wanting to try different entrees we ordered California Halibut, Braised Osso Busco, Mary's Chicken Breast, Rib Eye Steak, and Roasted Duck Breast with orange glaze. The taste and presentation exceeded our expectations. As we were enjoying coffee along with Chocolate Indulgence, a (layered torte) and a Peanut Crunch Bar, Chef Branden approached our table to see how we enjoyed our meal. We all told him how much we enjoyed the food, his beautiful presentation, and the smiling staff. We had a great five star experience and will definitely be back!“

“Amazing atmosphere and delicious food with portions that don't have you leaving hungry. Plenty of seating both inside and out. Their latte was a bit rough for my liking. Their David rio spiced chai was a pleasant, well balanced chai that kept me wanting more. If I was spending more time in the city I would have had one of their fun cocktails. Their breakfast burrito was delicious and full of flavor. Not sure if they offer it, but I would recommend getting extra pico. It adds a little extra zing with every bite, and I went through it way too fast.“
