“love love love it here! my mom and I stayed in fairfax for a whole week and we ate here several times. food is amazing, atmosphere is amazing, staff is amazing. special shout out to our main man Ty who remembered us by name and was always super fun and friendly every time we came in. he may even play you a few songs on his guitar if you’re lucky. this place was definitely a highlight of our trip and i’ll miss going there when we leave. we could also tell that this place is a huge hit with the locals which is always nice to see. thanks for all of the great food, drinks, conversations, and songs Barefoot Cafe! until next time! -Ebony“

“I'm biased. My nephew's girlfriend is the manager here so I know the place is terrific😄 that being said, the duck fat secret herb seasoned fries are to die for. The rotating menu offered a killer Baja fish taco which was fabulous. I lived on the beach in Baja for 2 years so I know my tacos😋 The cocktails are professional. They have a great Happy Hour for food too! Good background music but not too loud for conversation.“

“My husband and I came here for breakfast before our hike in Muir Woods. Husband got the huevos rancheros with house potatoes which was really good! I got the Mexican scramble with hash browns and I think this was literally the best omelette I’ve ever had. I was so full for hours afterwards (and yes, even after the hike I barely had any room for anything else). Would highly recommend!

“The steamed clams and mussels were the best I've had in years. Perfectly cooked, not overdone and small like so many places. The ribeye was delicious and the mashed potatoes that came with it were perfect 👌. Fish tacos were complex and delicious. You can tell they have an artist back there. Service was great and added to the experience ❤️. We went with a toddler and sat outside, luckily most people were inside, but they were very kind and seemed to enjoy her antics which always makes it more enjoyable for the adults.“

Good:
- Prompt service - our food came out quickly!
- The strawberry matcha oat latte was super tasty! Wasn't too sweet either
- The korean scramble was great! Huge portion sizes and the potato was freshly crisped
- Cute interior, but it's pretty small inside

Bad:
- The french toast special here is way too sweet it made me a bit nauseous at the end
- Pretty expensive, about $38pp for 2 entrees and a drink

Overall this was a solid brunch spot and super full by the end.“

“Contrary to what people say about the food, it’s good and fresh. From my experience, people just don’t know how to look and read the menu. We loved the food and drinks so much we stopped in after our long hike from Angel Island. I ordered the same mezcal drink as my husband did the night before. G was just an amazing bartender and helped us out with all the different types of mezcal and what characteristics they bring to the table. Marco even recognized us and said you guys are back.
