“love love love it here! my mom and I stayed in fairfax for a whole week and we ate here several times. food is amazing, atmosphere is amazing, staff is amazing. special shout out to our main man Ty who remembered us by name and was always super fun and friendly every time we came in. he may even play you a few songs on his guitar if you’re lucky. this place was definitely a highlight of our trip and i’ll miss going there when we leave. we could also tell that this place is a huge hit with the locals which is always nice to see. thanks for all of the great food, drinks, conversations, and songs Barefoot Cafe! until next time! -Ebony“

“I'm biased. My nephew's girlfriend is the manager here so I know the place is terrific😄 that being said, the duck fat secret herb seasoned fries are to die for. The rotating menu offered a killer Baja fish taco which was fabulous. I lived on the beach in Baja for 2 years so I know my tacos😋 The cocktails are professional. They have a great Happy Hour for food too! Good background music but not too loud for conversation.“

“I have gone several times and love every dish I’ve tried. The service is excellent and they are pet friendly. Sometimes when I went, there was live music which really added to the experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant.“

“My husband and I came here for breakfast before our hike in Muir Woods. Husband got the huevos rancheros with house potatoes which was really good! I got the Mexican scramble with hash browns and I think this was literally the best omelette I’ve ever had. I was so full for hours afterwards (and yes, even after the hike I barely had any room for anything else). Would highly recommend!

“Came here after a long bike ride and there was a longish line but it wasn't too bad.

Good:
- Prompt service - our food came out quickly!
- The strawberry matcha oat latte was super tasty! Wasn't too sweet either
- The korean scramble was great! Huge portion sizes and the potato was freshly crisped
- Cute interior, but it's pretty small inside

Bad:
- The french toast special here is way too sweet it made me a bit nauseous at the end
- Pretty expensive, about $38pp for 2 entrees and a drink

Overall this was a solid brunch spot and super full by the end.“

“I've been eating at this establishment for over 25 years. It is a staple of Marin. Excellent food and service. The Chicken Fried Steak is the best you'll find anywhere. There may be a place that does it better, but I haven't found it in all of my travels including 7 states.“

My husband is a huge mezcal fan and asked if there was a drink the bartender could make and sure enough they made the most spectacular drink! We loved the food and drinks so much we stopped in after our long hike from Angel Island. I ordered the same mezcal drink as my husband did the night before. G was just an amazing bartender and helped us out with all the different types of mezcal and what characteristics they bring to the table. Marco even recognized us and said you guys are back. I have been telling everyone about your amazing restaurant and not just the quality of food but just the atmosphere and experience we had with the staff. They are all welcoming and make you feel like family.“

“First time there since the remodel. Very clean restaurant! I had a great American breakfast with sausage that tasted just right! We all commented on how good the sausage tasted! My friend had Desyuna and the chorizo and plantains were just right.

We checked out their dinner menu and we will be back.

“Jose Luis took care of us! I don't know why this place doesn't have better reviews, we came into town on a motorcycle trip and didn't want to ride to dinner. He was prompt with our drinks and dinner and the food was great for a hotel restaurant. Definitely would do it again!“

“Contrary to what people say about the food, it’s good and fresh. From my experience, people just don’t know how to look and read the menu. Glad this is a smaller shop so they have more autonomy to deal with people’s lack of reading skills. Some people are just never please. Perfect place to get food with a group of 4 too.“

“This restaurant is not only very nice but also is conveniently located. I recommend the salmon which is nice, affordable and tasty. I enjoyed eating the turkey and avocado club. When I was last there, it wasn’t crowded rather quite and the service was great. The decor is comfy and classy. Go there to eat good quality food such as burgers, salad, sandwiches, and others.“

“There are no words to describe such a location. I would say it was peak, legendary even- but those feeble words would not do it justice. To be fair I probably have a bias from 3 hours of jetlag and a lack of anything to eat it prior, but- its not the food. Its the man. Aziz, oh Aziz. If there was an embodiment of pure soul this man would fill this roll. From his kindness to his service, he has to be the nicest bartender I've ever encountered. The description I've given does little to even scratch the ray of sunshine that is his personality. I cant for the life of me see the drag of darkness in his presence... and food.“
