“Nice local Indian restaurant. But of a cafe-like feel but really good food. Onion pakoras were nicely cooked and not oily. Excellent sauces with the lamb tikka masala and chicken coconut curry. Naan was nice and crispy on the outside. Tandoori prawns were a bit overcooked. Service was very friendly and fast. Great place for a quick meal if you are in the mood for Indian.“

“Artis is probably the best Indian food in Marin county! I love this restaurant and the people that work there. They are all so kind, friendly, and all very attentive. During the holiday season they even put on a community lunch and gave away huge plates of several different items and even had vegetarian and vegan options available! Pretty special thing for a small business to do for their customers and community, especially in this day and age when so many restaurants are struggling. Their restaurant is also nicely put together, has a warm ambiance even though the restaurant is small inside, and have a nice patio area to sit outside when the weather permits it. So many good things to say about this restaurant, the owners, and their staff! This place is and will continue to be one of my go to spots in Marin County!“

“I highly recommend this place for authentic and delicious Indian food. My favorite dishes are the following: 1. Butter chicken - chicken very tender and juicy, sauce tastes so good especially with the naan bread (they should bottle the sauce and sell it!) 2. Yellow dal - we enjoyed this dish. ordered mild spice but next time will order medium spice as we want a little more heat. 3. Appetizer Samosa - comes with 4 per order, generous amount of filling with potato and green peas. It was a little spicy. Comes with 2 dipping sauces - green sauce and sweet sauce.“

“My entire family loves Lotus and we appreciate that the food is made with high quality, organic ingredients. This food is the closest we've gotten to how food tastes back home in India :) Recently I worked with the Lotus team to cater a 45-50 person event. Surinder, the owner, was phenomenally helpful. He was in touch with me regularly, on time for delivery, provided everything I needed including the matches to keep the chafing dishes warm throughout the night. He went above and beyond. We were already HUGE fans of this place and are now SUPER fans. My preschool-aged daughter loves this place too and asks to go here all the time :) HIGHLY rec!“

“I am not Indian but I’ve worked in an Indian restaurant, I’ve been to India, and I consider myself an Indian food aficionado… this place is the real deal. Probably the best Indian food I’ve had in Marin and definitely better than other parts of the U.S. Everything we had was homemade, including the chutneys, samosas, etc. the achari eggplant was delicious. “Lovely experience at Avatars. GF had a salad with plain chicken while I had their famous salmon enchiladas. I think the tangy nature of the sauce comes from a reduced curry mix, salt and lime pickle. The hybrid Mexican / Indian theme is something that’s becoming bigger and bigger in the Bay. “Spent the afternoon outside of the city and found the perfect spot for lunch. Food was delicious and prices were even better. Staff were beyond friendly and kind. The Samosas were to die for. W got samosas, chicken tikka, and extra nan. IYKYK. 10/10 will be coming back!“
