“Food was good. Complaint though about the fact they wouldn’t write us separate tickets. 😡 another way to gouge the public because they planned on us rounding up when it was $37.80 to $38 even and there was a nearly 5 dollar surcharge that they didn’t explain. Not really a good experience“

“Our group of eight was searching for a sit-down Mexican restaurant with an open kitchen after 9 PM and found Jalapeños. We decided to give it a try, and the service was excellent—helpful and attentive staff. I sampled four different tacos, all of which were delicious, and the margaritas were fresh and flavorful. Overall, we had a great time, and I’d consider returning to explore more of the menu.“

“Wow it's been 20 yrs. Since my dad passed. We no longer have Luis's which I'm sry I grew up with and loved. So we go for some authentic mexican. We had crispy beef tacos, cheese enchiladas. And 3 enchilads beef. Chicken and cheese. It was just awful. Tortillas were store bought and extra charge, sauce and salsa for chips tasted like out of a jar or can. Beans were good.Waiter was surly felt not one smile beneath that mask.(I saw the black girl's comment) We are white if that helps) Service was fast. Ambiance is great but I was just really cravin some good authentic mexican. We won't be back.left most of our food on the plate. $79.00 for 3 of us.“

“Excellent every time! A family favorite of ours. The new owners are just as wonderful as the old owners and there’s always a genuinely warm greeting when we come in. The food is amazing. It’s one of the few places where you can confidently say everything on the menu is great. I wish they took cards, but I understand why they likely don’t, but really it doesn’t matter in a place as good as this.“

“This place is armed to the bone with security. Follow the smell of chicharrones (fried pork things). The food place that serves it will have very low prices for traditional Mexican fare. I paid $3.25 for a chicken burrito and it was poached chicken with rice and refried beans. They did not add anything else so be prepared for that. I paid $13 for the same thing somewhere else in sac for chicken stew inside of the burrito so that’s 75% cheaper to order it here… that being said the lines are out the door and long. I waited almost 20 min to place my order and retrieve it. Make sure to ask them for salsa with your order after you get it too. They’ll gladly hand it to you.

Parking: Be kind to the homeless nearby. Really annoyed I saw people giving dirty looks to the guy that was parking his bike and was hauling a cart. Mind your business. That could be you one day you low life pos.“

“I enjoyed eating here when I lived in the area and it was nice to stop by for a hungry bite again. They have a next level salsa bar and their plates are generously portioned. Prices have gone up noticeably since I last came here to enjoy some Mexican food. It's not quite the value that it was. Their plates used to be $13.99 and that's gone up to $17 for comparison. That said, they offer overall quality food.“

“10/10 Recommend. Our first time in was Saturday night and we were a bit nervous prior, will the food be good? Will it be a long wait for food? How will the drinks be? Food was absolutely perfect and was out very quickly. Drinks were delicious and refreshing. Very family friendly environment. We will for sure be back and highly recommended going. Staff was attentive and we felt well taken care of when we were exhausted and hungry just needed a comfort meal close to home. Successful and great visit for sure.“

The tortillas where so fresh, beans were like no other I've had and the portion size was perfect. Salsas were great along with friendly service. We are definitely coming back.“

“The ratings do this place justice. It is tried, tested, and well deserved. Even my spanish friends who barely speak english know of it and highly recommend it and it's regarded as the best Mexican food restaurant in the greater Sacramento area by a lot of people that I know. I only go for the food but they have a full bar and lot's of tv's. The food is the best part, as it should be in any restaurant; it's why we go. It's taco truck level quality with the whole restaurant experience and when I say taco truck quality food I mean that level of quality you'd expect from a single person who's worked on the same equipment for decades. It's clean, has bathrooms, really nice employees and that special mucho beuno absolutely bomb food. The menu is huge! And honestly, the bigger and more complex menu a restaurant has, typically, the lower quality food you'll find there but this place is the exception to that rule. Go there, try it, and then you'll know.

Parking: Plenty of parking although I wouldn't be surprised if the lot was full seeing how good this place is. If so, easily park on the other side of northgate.

Wheelchair accessibility: I can't see why a wheelchair user couldn't get to it. Wide open and level, flat sidewalk out front.“

“This is one of the affordable and delicious Mexican restaurants in my list. The place gets crowded during dinner time and weekends. You get in line, place your order, get a number and find a table. We’ve been coming here since 2012 or so. Last time we were there, my husband ordered the fish tacos combination. He was very pleased with it.“

“My family and I have had the most wonderful experiences at Vallejo's. The atmosphere for dining is one of the best. The staff are so kind, and the owners go out of their way to speak to their customers. When my father passed away in 2018, the Vallejo's family surprised us with catering at his funeral. They fed over 500 people, and didn't charge our family one penny for the food. They have also catered for various family functions, including graduation events. The food is amazing and is definitely worth trying.“
