“My husband and I ended up getting lost. We ended up in forestville, I personally wanted a coffee and he suggested ice cream. We ended up at this quaint little shop. I personally don’t like a big crowd, my anxiety tends to get the best of me. There was a worker there who was just an absolute gem that I still haven’t stopped raving about. Kali was gracious, knowledgeable and just so charismatic. She made this environment friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend to anyone. Also to add, I forwent the coffee and got a scoop of snow hopper. Delectable! If you haven’t been, I highly recommend. We will be back!“

“We had a great prix fixe meal of 3 courses but the also offer 5 courses. No bad selections except for the cauliflower steak. I don’t think that is worth a steak or shrimp pasta but that is my opinion. Outdoor dining is available and they have heaters by the wall of sliding windows that open up totally he outside. Awesome deserts. I had the cookie butter cheesecake. I died and went to heaven.“

“The mocha was delicious! Love when you can tell that a place uses real chocolate in their mocha. The Meyer lemon and blueberry scone was a bit disappointing I can't lie. Tasted a little sour almost like they exclusively used the lemon rind and added no sugar. If you're into that, great but I gotta say I was expecting something a little more satisfying. They were out of the sticky buns when we tried to order them so they automatically ordered us the Egyptian. Okay sure, I get it, but maybe ask first lol. The Egyptian was also kind of a let down and reminded me more of a piece of black licorice than a sweet sticky bun. Some artisan food for sure but I think it's a bit overrated.“

“Can't say enough great things about the Madrona! The hotel is gorgeous and chic while still very comfortable and welcoming. The staff is friendly and attentive without becoming overbearing. I ordered three street tacos—chorizo, chicken, and steak—and that steak taco? Buddy… it tasted like someone grilled the most excellent steak known to mankind, whispered words of encouragement to it, motivated it to reach its full potential, then sliced it into bite-size greatness. The salsa inside? So good I considered taking it home and introducing it to my family. My son ordered the happy hour cheese quesadilla, which came out perfectly toasted—crispy golden edges, soft cheesy center. Basically a work of art Picasso wishes he painted. Then we shared the habanero wings, which came with a medley of tomatoes and sliced cucumbers so fancy it felt like they were auditioning for a cooking show. The dressing? Absolutely delicious. I briefly thought about drinking it like a tiny salad smoothie. I didn’t… but I thought about it. In conclusion: If you’re not eating at The Hole in the Wall, are you even living? 🌮🔥🍗“

Our server Manny is a gem and was excellent about answering our questions. We'll be back! While I appreciate some attention- it was over the top with more than appropriate amount of attention. “We came here on a Friday night around 6pm. There was a few seated tables and no wait for our family of five.

This appears to be a husband and wife shop and probably could use one additional pair of hands. Husband was behind the sushi bar making the rolls and such while the wife takes orders, bus tables, answer phones and serve the food. Have some patience as they can get backed up when it gets busy.

“The service was good, the flavor was phenomenal, the texture was a bit off like it had ice crystals formed in it--not very creamy, and the atmosphere was... well, bougie tourist town, what do you expect? The price is absolutely absurd. I paid $7 for a single small scoop in a cone so bland and stale that I felt like I was eating a paper cup and wished I had just asked for one instead of having to keep biting through the gross waffle. I had the bourbon plum ice cream and I'd highly recommend that flavor if you want to try this place out.“
