“Sweethoney Dessert in Foster City offers a sweet retreat for fans of Asian-style confections, especially those drawn to Hong Kong-style recipes. The menu leans heavily into fruit-forward creations like mango pomelo sago and coconut milk pudding, with textures ranging from chilled jelly to smooth herbal soups. Many of the desserts are freshly made in-store, and presentation is thoughtful—perfect for sharing or photo-worthy moments. The café feels cozy but modern, with seating best suited for small groups or solo visits. Peak hours can get busy, especially after dinner, so ordering ahead or visiting mid-afternoon tends to be easier.
While service is usually efficient, staff interaction is minimal and seating turnover happens fast. Parking is shared with neighboring businesses, and restrooms are available only outside the café in the plaza. Pets aren’t allowed indoors due to health codes, but leashed dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables. If you’re looking to enjoy the desserts picnic-style, nearby parks like Marlin or Boothbay are within a short drive. Overall, Sweethoney strikes a nice balance between traditional flavors and clean, accessible presentation—earning a solid 4/5 rating.“

“Buffet breakfast was great. Not just regular american breakfast, they also have porridge with condiments including Chinese fried donuts. Plenty of fruits strawberries melons, bananas and oranges. They also have waffles, omelets to order, and choices of bread and muffins. Our coffees always get refilled. Service was great!“

“Fiero Cafe is truly a hidden gem in San Mateo! From the moment you walk in, you can feel the passion and authenticity behind everything they do. Filippo Guarino, the owner, pours his heart into every dish, and it shows. His handcrafted Italian food is nothing short of extraordinary, fresh ingredients, rich flavors, and the kind of attention to detail you only find in true Italian cooking.
I tried the catzo sandwich, and it was fantastic, perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. On top of the food, Filippo makes you feel like family, welcoming you with warmth and genuine hospitality.
If you’re looking for an authentic Italian dining experience in the Bay Area, Fiero Cafe is a must. Do yourself a favor and go, you’ll leave planning your next visit before you even walk out the door.“

“I’m a huge fan of dirty chai lattes and I’m always searching for who has the best. The dirty chai at Antigua is definitely near the top of the list for me. Not too sweet and not too spicy which is the way I like them. Will def be back for the chai. Pastries were also delicious. Haven’t tried the food yet but looks like it would be amazing.“

“I missed the drop off day for donating for the animals in need. Stopped by there this morning with a donation. Loved the greeting with a smile that I received when I walked in by the young man behind the counter. he was totally surprised when I handed him an envelope and explained that I had missed the drop off date. Now I know why this Cafe receives 5 stars, very friendly atmosphere. I will be back!!“

“I really enjoyed my Friday morning visit around 10 a.m. There was about a 5-minute wait, a short line, and all the chairs were taken, lots of people standing around and the space was loud and crowded. I was meeting a friend, and even in the bustle we were able to have a wonderful conversation. By about 10:30, the crowd thinned out, and we found a table to enjoy not just our conversation but also some delicious coffee.
She ordered a flat white and loved it, saying it had a caramel-like taste. I had the Tahitian vanilla latte with oat milk (so good!) and an avocado toast. Next time, I’ll definitely order the avocado toast with an egg and try the miso latte the barista recommended.
The café has seating for maybe 15–20 people, either individually or paired up. Overall, a great spot, I’ll definitely be back!“

“The bagels were incredibly fresh—crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, just the way they should be. What really stood out was the wide selection of bagels and spreads. The variety of cream cheeses and other spreads is just as impressive—perfect for mixing and matching. Definitely a must-visit for any bagel lover!“

“You can tell when you walk in that this is a well-established fixture in Palo Alto. The breakfast menu is limited, but the food is made fresh and the ingredients were whole and healthy. And the coffee is very good, which makes sense since they advertise coffee from around the world and have a big roaster sitting off to the side.
The veggie omelet had a good number of veggies and was accompanied by a bagel and a cup of fruit. Although I was hungry I couldn't finish it all. They are generous with the coffee, and I also needed a to go cup for that. The seasoning on the omelet was pretty tame, but they provide salt and pepper, along with Tapatio got sauce to spice it up for those who like a little more flavor.
The counter service was courteous, and attentive, and our orders were correct.“

“I had to stop by Royal Donut Cafe because of all of the great reviews I saw on Yelp! And I must say that I wasn't disappointed at all! The staff was awesome! From the cashier, to the cooks, and the server. And I even got a chance to meet the owner, Terri, who has taken over the business for the past 15 years! Definitely going to be a regular here! I ordered the vegetarian omelet! 😋“

“Stanford in campus counter style cafe offering a blend of Southeast Asian flavours. One has to lower expectations given that this is within the university and caters to a diverse set of diners, so the tastes are milder vs the local Asian staples. A good representation nonetheless of Asian cuisine. The dining area is soley outdoors but relatively clean and provides a good campus spot to have ones meal and to meet up. No toilets available.
Vegetarian options: Counter style gives you options but ask servers on specific ingredients used
Parking: Stanford University parking system in effect while free parking lots are further situated with the use of free shuttles
Kid-friendliness: Ample options for kid's tastes
Wheelchair accessibility: Spacious seating outdoors but ordering has to be done by counter“

“Had Breakfast here during our stay in San Mateo. Our Hotel was nearby and didn't serve breakfast, after a quick search, decided to check out this place. Glad we did, great Coffee and Food. This was the first place we visited during our trip to San Francisco. It's located in an Office Building, lots of parking. What we loved too was how everyone here knew each other. Staff were very warm and friendly. Will definitely visit again.“

“The food here is good and so is the coffee. They offer açaí bowls, breakfast options, and a bakery that is completely Brazilian. So if you’re Latino and want to try something different from the usual spots, this is a great choice. The dishes are very healthy and while this location doesn’t have an espresso machine, so coffee options are somewhat limited, what they do have is tasty.
If you’re planning to order by phone, make sure to call ahead as it can get pretty busy and your order might take a while. Overall, it’s a good café, affordable, flavorful, and a nice break from the typical spots. If you’re in the mood for something non-traditional, give it a try.“

“This place is pretty small but cute. There are not that many seats inside, and most people seem to be taking food to go. I got the tonkatsu quesadilla for $12 and it was essentially cabbage, corn, and tonkatsu, and cheese inside a tortilla(?) shell. It was an interesting item, but tasted pretty good.“
