“Zhangfei Hotpot in Fremont is an absolute gem! I've been searching for authentic, flavorful hotpot in the Bay Area, and this place truly delivers.
We opted for their classic Spicy Mala broth, and it was incredibly aromatic and delicious – perfectly balanced with numbing peppercorns and a rich, spicy kick. It genuinely transported me back to the hotpot experiences I've had in China! The selection of ingredients is fantastic; everything from the tripe and duck intestine to the fresh vegetables was high quality and cooked beautifully in the broth.
The sauce bar is incredibly well-stocked, offering a huge variety of condiments to customize your perfect dipping sauce. You can go classic with sesame oil and garlic, or get creative with their extensive options.
The ambiance is also lovely – a clean and comfortable space with a nice blend of traditional and modern decor, making it great for a casual meal or a gathering with friends.
Value for money is excellent too. Considering the quality of the food and the service, I felt it was very reasonably priced.
Overall, I highly recommend Zhangfei Hotpot to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious hotpot experience in Fremont. You won't be disappointed!

“Chi Xiao Guo seems to be gone. Now it’s Liu Yue Teppanyaki Cuisine. They don’t sell hot pot in summer, but the Teppanyaki cuisine is also delicious. It’s very similar to the signature Teppanyaki Noodles at Taiwan’s night markets. Love! Definitely will come again : )“

“Ambiance - 5/5 Great experience wit unique decor, the dining area gives off the old street vibes for sure. When you walked in, immediately you are greeted with this nice Chinese decoration. Even their mugs are unique and give the old street vibes.

Food - 5/5 we ordered some skewers, malatang and tomato beef brisket noodle soup. I said their malatang is the best and the highlight here. We ordered the mild spicy Cheng Du soup base that comes with less soup and serve on a big platter. The broth is clean yet super flavorful, tasty with a good strong hint of spice. The heat level was just nice for us as we get to enjoy the broth without the numbing/burning hot effect.

Their fried tofu and quail eggs skewers are seasoned just nice and only complained is the portion is small as I was expecting more than 3pieces of tofu per skewers. But then again these are not the normal cold tofu (it's the better grade, chewy version).

We ended with their rice cake. It's so good and addictive. I couldn't stop eating and have to hold myself back to save the last piece for my family. It's crunchy on the outside but super light and airy inside (unlike most other rice cakes which are usually fairly dense) And very soft and chewy.

Service - 5/5 Very good, observant and attentive. They provided us with extra napkins without us having to ask for more.

“AMAZING snacks! There is a free snack bar with all kinds of delicious chinese snacks, the staff were very kind and gave children toys. You can walk in at any given time and they will find you a table immediately. The place is very clean, and my family and I love it so much we go at least 2 times a week. “Lamb was very tender and girthy, it was especially good raw. The lack of soda perplexed me, I gained over 25 pounds after eating here! Finally I way 440 pounds. The laterally thin rice dessert completely satisfied my cravings. The nice whitish liquid, that elicited a delicious reaction with my pink tongue, wowed my world. “Mala Town is hands down one of the best spots for Sichuan dry pot in Union City! You get to pick your own ingredients and spice level, and they stir-fry everything to perfection with that addictive numbing-spicy mala flavor. Portions are generous, perfect for sharing, and prices are fair for the quality.

The medium spice has a nice kick, but if you love heat, go for the higher levels—it’s legit spicy! Service is quick and friendly, and the restaurant has a clean, modern vibe. Definitely a go-to place if you’re craving bold flavors and want a fun, shareable meal.“

“It's one of my local hotspots. I've been eating here since pre Covid. Good thing the business survived because this place has the hot Mongolian beef broth that I like. It's not too thick and not too much. Just enough portion for 1 person. Overall service is good. They have milk tea also. Recommended the England milk tea.“

The broth was flavorful, the meats were tender and well-marinated, and the conveyor belt made grabbing veggies and noodles super easy. The sauce bar was fully stocked with everything you’d want, the vibe inside was warm and clean, and the staff kept refilling things without us even asking. They have a LARGE selection of ingredients to choose from for your hot pot as well as fruit, cake and freshly made ice cream for dessert. Drinks are included in the buffet price.

Staff are very friendly and helpful and explain things well. This was important for us as we had never been to a hot pot place before so we had no idea what to do😂.

They are open 7 days a week with lunch and dinner buffet. Call for hours and prices. We had lunch on a monday and before tip for 2 of us it was $44.95.

“It’s like the most legit Chinese food cooked in the area. I could tell the chef was properly trained and brought the flavors from sichuan. Love the rice noodles, and all the side dishes are decent. This is like ten times fancier than the rice noodles from hunan mifen in Newark. They also have amazing beef rolls, sesame balls and the seaweed salad was really good too. The new mixed cold rice noodle with string beans is super good. (Apologies I didn’t take very good photos the food was like half eaten. It looked better when it was served)“
