“My wife and I were craving some hotpot and found this place on Yelp in San Mateo. The parking was easy and this place was located on a corner of a building. It's huge...nicely designed and very welcoming. We came during lunch time and no other customers were there. I was surprised and felt bad for such an awesome restaurant to not have it filled with people. I ordered the lamb, beef, wagyu, veggies, rice and noodles with spicy broth. The mild broth is still hot so request for less spice or have them dilute it. Customer service is top notch..our waiter was informative, helpful and took care of us. They have a cool sauce bar with chicken feet, oranges, edamame, and cantaloupe as well that you can help yourself to. I would highly recommend this place. The pricing averages out to about $30-$50 per person depending on what you order and add on.“

“I used to visit this place when it had the name, “little sheep”. I guess that my last visit was more than 5yr. I thought that this restaurant is closed. So, i’ve used MuMu hotpot in Foster City. One day before my today visit, i saw that the restaurant has a new name “happy lamb” and has a lunch menu. When i visited that i found out that the restaurant runs by the same owner with the different business name. ( even same waiters )I like the lunch menu portion. It was good for me and my wife. The restaurant has some kind of self-serve bar for some sauces, little sour salads, and ice cream. I thought it was free, but it wasn’t. It was less than $2 per person. I liked it.I will go this for hotpot from now on.“

“We were in as a group of six and treated our friends who have been amazing helping us move to our new condo nearby and puppy sitting the past half year.We had enough people to make a reservation so waiting was minimal despite the weekend. The atmosphere was on the loud side, music and TV wise so not a lot of conversation (but how much taking when there’s SO much food anyways, I guess?). The variety was pretty good; a nice mix of fresh veggies, decent meat and seafood and lots of fun bits like wok fried peanuts and sesame balls to round out the usual sauces and fruit. The service was good, we got our orders in and everything arrived pretty fast.We did get stuck on a table without the conveyer belts so we didn’t exactly get the immediate satisfaction of grabbing what caught our eye but it was fine as a one off.“

“Food is sichuan style and perfect for people who love spicy food. I recommend the bean spouts, the goats in spicy sauce and other famous dishes. Service can be hit or miss. The owner who is a kind and generous lady gives great advices, but one server dude is not too friendly. Well maybe he had a bad say. Anyway I really like Chef Sha and I will go back again.“

“Nothing but good words about Shabu house, my favorite Shabu chain! Always hit the spot in every location I've been to because they're consistent with their flavor and quality. Staff is always so friendly here even when very busy. This location is relatively large compared to their other two locations in San Francisco. Great spot for parties/ large groups of five plus and more. They take reservations for larger groups but I normally come with one or two friends at most and get seated pretty quickly. I like that there sign in to join the waitlist is on a large whiteboard easily visible.I ordered the Large Individual Shabu Entree - lamb with spicy miso soup, and was already pretty stuffed halfway through, but everything was so good so I powered through it LOL. The entree comes with a large platter of thinly cut meat( cut to order), a large platter of vegetables including cabbage, spinach, mushroom, Enoki mushroom, carrots, and tofu and carb options including udon and rice included. I love that they give you the whole Sesame bottle now along with the ponzu sauce to refill at your own pace. I could literally drink their sesame sauce... it's just that good to me. I like to add garlic and green onions to my ponzu sauce, and sesame sauce in a separate bowl.Parking is a doozy here, hit or miss depending on what time you go and if it is a weeknight or weekend. There's residential parking on the same block as a restaurant and needed parking on the main road. The entrance of the restaurant is very unassuming, and tucked on a very quiet street.Great spot, awesome vibes, there's always sports playing at the bar. Save room for the complimentary ice cream. Lastly, big FYI, they automatically charge a service fee AKA tip (regardless of your party size).“

“Mumu always hits the spot! This was our first time at the Foster City location. We normally patronize the Pleasanton location, but as we were coming from SFO, we thought we’d try this location.First off, they have outdoor hot pot tables available; we didn’t do it this time, but next time for sure! The restaurant staff is great here, very friendly and go above & beyond… there’s also ample parking available too.The veggies and meat are all fresh and fantastic and the sauce bar is loaded. We’ll definitely be back!“

“My partner and I wanted to eat hot pot and Shabu Shack was perfectly located near our place. We went in around 8:30pm and were seated pretty quickly. Staff was attentive and quick. The atmosphere was clean, organized, and open. Between the two of us (and we weren't outrageously hungry), we shared: a large Kobe beef in medium sichuan spicy broth, Kobe fries, and potstickers. I also had a lychee soju beverage, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Overall we enjoyed all the the dishes. The hot pot broth (medium special sichuan) was yummy but a little too punchy and spicy. I might opt for mild or a different broth next time. The large portion of beef was the perfect amount between the two of us for being not too hungry. My partner really loved the Kobe fries. Overall, I would totally come back again. While I felt it was a little pricier (paid a total of $85 and we could have went to an AYCE hot pot for about the same amount), I enjoyed the meal, service, and close location. If you're in the area, I'd recommend you try this spot.“

“The most authentic Peking duck I’ve had in the U.S. The duck is baked per order. So if you didn’t make reservations for the duck, you will have to wait for an hour for it to be ready. The duck is served on a plate with little candle underneath it, in order to keep it warm. The duck skin is must try. It is so crispy and tasty. The best way to have the skin is to dip it in the sugar and eat it right away.Hawthorn (not always available) is a great addition to add another layer to the overall taste. You put the duck in the spring pancake, together with cucumber slices, green onions, hawthorn slices, and some sweet bean sauce. It makes a perfect Peking duck roll!!!Highly recommend this place for people who loves Chinese food and Peking duck!!“

“A dear friend invited me to experience a bit of "traditional" Hong Kong style hot pot. It was a different experience for me as I had not been to a restaurant where you get literally a hot pot and then you have to dip meat of one form or another into it and you add all the ingredients on the fly -- egg, veggies, tofu? Etc... And apparently I started off wrong, but once she showed me how it was yum yum all the way through. Be sure to come hungry because it's an unending supply of soup and you can always order more of the beef, lamb or other meats. #TheBrokerWithAHeart.Parking: This is a mall in this thing and parking is always available.“

She just came and took our order for the soup choice and brought our sodas. It's clean, and even as we seen people leave, she sprayed and disinfected the table and area.“

“Yes, you can have both hot pot and BBQ at the same table. We were party of 13 seating in two adjacent tables and enjoyed the food and drinks. The restaurant gets super busy so it is recommended to make a reservation beforehand especially on weekends. We ordered soups and BBQ for us. Soups came out but they didn’t bring spoons. We put stuffs on soup already and still no spoons… May be they were out of spoons? Probably after 15 minutes or so they brought spoons to one table and still didn’t have for another. We would understand if we were communicated the sort of utensils at the moment but no one informed us. Finally after 20 minutes we got our spoons. Had to request to three different servers for soup spoons. We were only given soup serving spoon , we managed with it...Food and drinks were good. They have beers, sake and sake pitchers. It’s a really good place for large groups. They also have private rooms for large groups. We ordered six rice in our table and 7 in another and for us, it came out in one big bowl with no serving spoon. We were like ??! What a service! it should have come out in the individual portions bowls… again if there’s sort of rice bowls, just communicate with us.Parking: Located near 24 hours fitness center and some other retail stores and banks, usually the dinner time there are lots of empty parking.?️“

“We came to Earl Spicy to celebrate Lunar New Year 2024. Our friends have been several times and suggested it for our Lunar New Year celebration. Everything we ordered was delicious! The spicy crab was so unique. Sichuan at its' best! I am Asian and this might tbe the best crab I've ever had! The fish was also so delicious. Savory, spicy and just perfection. We had lamb with noodles which were expertly prepared. The noodles were cooked to the ideal peak. The owner is very sweet and came to our table to ensure we were enjoying our meal and to bring us a special treat for dessert. I highly recommend, especially if you enjoy lots of delicious, spicy, yet balanced flavor.“
