“Very nice place for a wine tasting on a lazy winter’s afternoon. A three-piece band was playing music outdoors as we arrived, which was a nice, unexpected touch. There were five of us and we sat at a wrought iron table with wrought iron chairs that rocked back & forth - how fun! Our wine tasting consisted of six wines. All six were very good, but that didn’t stop us from comparing and contrasting each sip that the five of us took. It made for a very enjoyable late afternoon as the sun dropped low in the February sky. As we closed the place down, we purchased several bottles of our favorite wines from that day. We’ll definitely be back.“
“Make Pondl your FIRST stop of the day and you will not regret it! This is a small winery, but we had the best experience here compared to visiting other larger wineries. The owner is fantastic, he showed us how he made the wine and entertained us with the history of how Pondl came to be. He was so delightful and had many stories to tell us, we were laughing so hard! This place is an absolute gem and the wine is very unique and the reds have a much more stronger kick compared to other wines I have tasted. We've visited over 15 wineries in Lodi and this by far was our favorite!“

“My wife and I had a wonderful afternoon at Provenance on September 6th. Although I had Provenance wines before, I had not actually visited the winery. We arrived early for our tasting so I told Ryan, the Assistant Hospitality Manager that we would just sit outside until our scheudled reservation time. While we were sitting outside, Ryan brought us two glasses of Sauvignon Blanc to taste. My wife and I both agreed that the Sauvignon Blanc was quite good and refreshing especially since it was very hot outside. We also appreciated that Ryan just didn't give us the wine and leave, he actually sat down and talked with us for a while. Since we were doing the Cabernet tasting, Ryan suggested that we would have better experience doing the tasting inside since it was so hot outside. When we went inside, Dick was our host. Our tasting included these wines. 2017 Barrel Select Cabernet, 2017 Star Vineyard Cabernet, 2017 Sleeping Lady Cabernet, and the 2017 Howell Mountain Cabernet. Additionally Dick put together a very nice cheese tray for us to enjoy while we tasting. Prior to each pour Dick would provide us with a nice overview of the wine we were drinking a long with information on the vineyard the grapes came from. We were very impressed by Dick's knoweldge of the wines especially since he had just recently began working at Provenance. It wasn't to busy the day we visited so it what was nice that we didn't have to rush and just could take our time enjoying some great wine and cheese. At the end Dick also poured us a tasting of their Fortitude Cab. My wife and I thought all of the wines were great and decided to purchase a bottle of the 2017 Star Vineyard Cab to enjoy on a special occasion. “The young lady helping my Comadre start her club membership was very helpful. The wine here is nice. The atmosphere is super comfy. I was here last month and we celebrated my Comadre's birthday outside. They let you bring your own snacks which I think is very generous. Almost makes me want to switch my membership over so I can hangout with family without having to spend money on everything else too .“
“They were very busy when we visited, and it was an especially blustery day. Sitting outside was not an option. It’s a small, family owned operation, but what makes it unique to other local wineries is the goats and freshly made goat cheeses. We enjoyed the wine and cheese pairing. We left with a Moscato and two chèvre cheeses: a dill and a chocolate cheese. I wanted to smuggle a baby goat home in my purse!“
“I met the winemaker at a Rhone wine event, and love their wines...they specialize in white Rhones. I work in a nearby winery and often suggest Acquiese when asked for recommendations. While I knew the wines, I had never actually been there. It is a terrific destination if you are in Lodi (they are actually in Acampo). You need to make a reservation, and they will prepare for your visit with pairings designed to complement the wines. An added bonus (for me) was to learn that the tasting room manager, Wendy, is a friend I had lost contact with! What a great visit!!!“

“At Christmas time this winery is decorated beautifully! It reminds me of an Old vineyard in Italy with it's massive furnishings and large rooms. The people that work there are so friendly and informative of the vineyard. I recommend going anytime, but my first adventure was during the holidays so I definitely recommend going then.“
“My husband and I have visited 99% of the wineries in Lodi and don't know how we missed this gem! I know it's one of the newer tasting rooms but not so new that we shouldn't have already visited! “Loved this place! Such a beautiful view to enjoy. We were here for a fundraiser which included a great 3 course meal and of course wine. A great deal of people showed up this particular Friday evening. It was nice to see the face that was behind the meal choice of the even. Polite and fries. Beautiful gardens, fountains and seating. While looking at some of their barrels I noticed the stamping on them as a product of France. Possibly where the Barr originated from. I do see myself visiting here again to experience a wine tasting very soon“
“Julie who runs the tasting room is so warm and welcoming, and has been part of this winery's journey since the early days so she can share a lot of history. She even brought out Gouda, their black fluffy winery kitty!We did a regular and a reserve tasting so we could try everything. The Reserve tasting in particular was really fun, with very interesting takes on sparkling wines. Prices for these wines at this quality are insanely low - we took home 3 bottles of the Grand Cuvee (which was our favorite).I would consider this a "can't miss" winery stop in Lodi! We look forward to returning.“

Good food catered by Wine and Roses restaurant/hotel next door and a good selection of wine tastings from N2, Michael Klouda etc. We enjoy the wine club here because we get 4 reds from different member wineries each quarter. The winemaker and his wife were pouring and were super accommodating even though they were busy! we enjoyed their wines and the descriptions on each one of them. A great variety and the taste was typical of Lodi. We walked out with our purchase knowing we will be back for sure.“

“Local gem that is often missed. I've been in Galt for 9yrs and was missing out. My hubby found a Groupon yes Groupon for tasting here. We went and had a great time. Very friendly staff, owner included and drinks were perfect. Things were so great we joined their quarterly membership. We've been here for Friday night music, wine club pick ups and I often frequent for a slushy. Definitely a missed spot in town. I suggest you go to and have a ball.“
