“Pondl is a MUST for me whenever visiting Lodi because of David! I first stumbled upon this lovely winery when my cousin who’d never been wine tasting before visited from Chicago, and I brought her here. David was so animated, accommodating, and welcoming and made her first experience very memorable. We loved the beautiful outdoor settings with the barrels that make great photo ops and backdrop of the open vineyard. My favorite wine here the Playboy. My sister made a sangria with it, and she asked me to buy her a bottle as well. When I come here, I enjoy chatting with David, hearing his epic stories, and having a glass or sharing a bottle outside where there’s also a table and benches to sit at. Since I love the wine here so much, I asked David if he’d supply the Chardonnay for a big community event that will be taking place, and he so very generously obliged! I’m blown away by his kindness, generosity, enthusiasm, and overall demeanor as a human being. I will ALWAYS visit Pondl when wine tasting in Lodi, and you absolutely HAVE to as well! Cheers!“

Support local wineries like Harney Lane. Order their food or bring your own snacks while sipping their tasty wines. It is a fantastic way to spend a few hours and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of life.“

“This is another place you're made to feel like old friends. This is family owned and they welcome you with a genuine warmth. Denise (mom of the family) is your hostess and along with excellent wine usually has a home made treat to offer up. Its a place you immediately become friends with other patrons. I had the Cab...excellent ! And my gentleman had the Zin. P.S...NO small pours here! Check their schedule as they are not open everyday, but usually open at noon over the weekend. Highly Recommended!!“

“Matt and Evonne are some of my dearest friends. I have experience harvesting grapes with them back in 2001. They are hard workers true to family, friends and their community. Their winery is lovely, but it’s the service that brings people back.“

“Great winery. My wife and I really enjoyed visiting here. We came to watch a Motown performance, which was great. The food bar was amazing as well. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star review was their bathroom situation. It is a shared male/female arrangement and my wife felt very uncomfortable when a man came out of one of the stalls. She immediately exited because it felt so weird. I came out of a stall and a lady seemed very uncomfortable seeing me in the same restroom. I know wineries might have to take measures to cut cost, but this shared bathroom situation is not the right place to do so. I hope they fix this or it will definitely turn some people away.“

“I love this family winery and their Rosé’s. To celebrate the autumn season, the 2024 Rosé paired perfectly with pumpkin gnocchi and mushroom ravioli, both in a butter sage sauce at home. I even enjoy sipping it alone.“

“What an absolute gem of a place! We always have such a genuinely joyful time here. It’s a beautiful, family-run farm, and you can feel how much love they put into everything. The goats — mamas and babies alike — are impossibly cute and so much fun to be around. Their goat cheese and wine are delicious, and the whole setting, with the garden and chickens, is just perfect.

We’ve done a couple of their events and they were a blast — goodnight goats (babies everywhere) and painting with goats. Next up for us is goat yoga! We also sponsor a mama goat which comes with some nice perks. This is one of those rare places that just makes you happy the moment you arrive. Highly recommend!“

“Really glad we discovered Prie while on a trip to the Sierra foothills. Their wine was on the list of one of the restaurants we visited and we realized that the tasting room was on our way back home through Lodi. John is doing low alcohol, mostly little known varietals. What really caught our eye was the mencia, which is barely grown or produced in the US. He is doing a low alcohol, minimal intervention version which is very clean and food friendly. The Prieto picudo was also excellent. We didn’t try the mencia/prieto picudo blend but picked up a couple bottles regardless. If you are looking for something different, contrary to the huge California wines that have ruled for too long, this will be right up your alley. Cozy little tasting room on a quiet property. We will definitely return next come we come through.“

Lori was so warm and friendly, making the whole experience top-notch. Do yourself a favor and try the 2024 Pinot Grigio—it is easily the best I've ever tasted. We will definitely be back!“

“Very relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed the concert. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I was worried about using their porta potties but they had staff constantly cleaning them and restocking supplies. Their wine is delicious. They have good food trucks as well. Will be back!“

“The Stonum family came into my life when I was a child, Francesca is a life long friend, I can speak from experience that this entire family is filled with quality people that produce a high quality product.“

“Service and friendliness was off the charts. We tasted all the reds and loved all of them. Bought a case and joined club on our first visit (we never do that). Then they set up a table and a couple of chairs out side under a tree so we could enjoy a glass of wine and a cigar. The owner came out and introduced himself and answered all of our questions. “Besides Napa Valley, d’Art wine possesses a certain red referred to as dog day, and it is the most delicious red wine, parallel to wine that I have had from France, that I have ever had. d’Art’s dog day is wonderful, especially chilled. The grounds are peaceful and beautiful and Helen, the owner, is a wonderful personality.“

“Kinker Brink is amazing. Great staff and a nice place to relax, try some wine and take a little, or a lot home for later. But find yourself wanting to have a drink there. Like Cheer's, everyone knows your name, and glad you came. My Brother-in-law does a catering service for them every year and I come to help where I can. By cooking the food 😂. But the staff and people are always kind. The wine is great. I recommend the Rosé. Come by yourself or friend's you'll always have great company here. Taste the wine before you buy like all great wineries do. Enjoy!“

Paul welcomed me and guided me through wines from Anaya Vineyards, Lucas Winery, and Markus Wine Co., while explaining Lodi’s vineyards, grape varieties, and wine industry.

As a WSET Level 2 student preparing for my WSET Level 3 exam in a few days, I especially appreciated meeting Markus from Markus Wine Co. He spent time discussing winemaking in Lodi and shared several helpful tips for my upcoming exam.

“The service was slow at first for a tasting but we eventually had a host that spent time with us. You do have to pay for a tasting - $30. Instead of paying $60 for 2 tastings, he asked if we wanted to buy a bottle of the wine we liked for $50. That was a no brainer.“
