It was a delightful experience, with the coffee being not only delicious but also incredibly smooth. It's safe to say that this spot is a hidden gem in LA, and I'll definitely be returning for more of that amazing brew.“

“Newberry is a hidden gem in the Southbay. The coffee is always great, the baristas are always friendly and the wait is always minimal. I have sampled the regular coffee, espresso, cold brew and cappuccino and all are great. I have even purchased their whole beans and have been equally impressed. My only complaint is that I wish that they had more seating.“

“I've been here quite a few times now when in the area. I love they offer different sizes for their drinks unlike other coffee shops with just a standard cup. I'd say the drinks are on the sweeter side but can be modified. The service is okay depending on who is there. My favorite was the coconut Vietnamese latte, my daughter had a caramel frappe which was pretty good. Pour over coffee also great just takes longer to brew of course.“

“Stopped by on my lunch break and had to try the coffee spot my coworkers always raved about. I was pleasantly surprised to find this location in a cute little trailer. The barista was very friendly and gave me a run down on where exactly the coffee is grown and roasted. I love that there's no extra charge for syrups or milk. I think I found my new coffee plug by work!!! Will be back!“

“This is my favorite coffee shop although there are a lot in LB. I’ve probably been to all of them and this is the best by far. Their coffee is just right…you can taste the coffee and not overly sweet. I’ve tried about six different coffees here and they’re all excellent. My favorite is the 007 and their matcha. Their scones are also freshly made and sell out. Highly recommend this spot.“

“I ordered a matcha latte and a breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel with egg, cheese and avocado instead of bacon. The matcha was mediocre because of the quality but the barista did an excellent job making it with cinnamon and honey. Just couldn't taste much of the matcha flavor itself. The breakfast sandwich was incredible! Bagel perfectly crispy warm on the outside and soft inside, tomato jam incredible flavor. This place is a hole in the wall so not much space to sit except for some benches outside with a stunning view of the ocean. I went early morning around 8am on a weekday. It's a great grab and go location for locals or someone stopping by the area. Baristas were very friendly and chatted with everyone which created a welcoming atmosphere.“

“The store has been around for 30 years. They roast their own coffees and they have many great selection, including the un-roasted ones. I bought Indigo after reading a review, and it is a strong aromatic coffee for espresso. I really like it. And so does my partner. They also host an baristas class sometimes (check their web) which I someday should attend :) Tips: bring cash for a discount. They give you 1 to 5 bucks (depending on size) discounted price for customers paying with cash“

“While vacationing we like to find local small businesses. I am so glad we found offset. We ate breakfast here every morning. We had the lox, avocado toast and an egg and bacon biscuit. These delicious dishes were made with fresh ingredients and were also visually appealing. The coffee is roasted here providing the best quality product. The talented baristas are super friendly and able to answer your questions. Ample parking is available next to the building and handicap parking and ramp are out front.“

“I go here to buy coffee beans and have their espresso every time I go. The beans are very good except their decaf beans which I didn't like all that much. They serve espresso with sparkling water and a piece of chocolate which makes my day. However I have also been to the Culver City branch and I felt that one is just better when it comes to espresso.“

Jake is an incredible, one man army, who was handling the cashier, barista and food duties. He was friendly and knowledgable, confirming they use V60 and ~1:16 ratio of coffee beans (ground) to water.I asked for something funky, and he recommended the Tiki Punch emerald series as his favorite with notes of Salted Carmel, Lemon Rind and Rose. Since we ordered one of their excellent savory pies, I asked for a shot of sparkling water (that's a sign it's a place that takes their coffee seriously) to cleanse my palate. Another thing that points to a serious coffee afiocionado status was the ground up coffee beans they give you with your coffee tumbler, so you can cleanse your sense of smell and truly take in the aroma of the brew. Let's just say, it was delicious, and I should've taken more time to savor it, but I chugged in all the goodness.One of the best pour over coffee experiences. If you are in Culver City/ Mar Vista/ Venice, this is a must-try for any coffee connoisseur.“

“A cozy place to get some work done. They have a few tables for outside as well. The coffee is good and they always seem to have new concoctions. I tried the Abuelita Latte with oat milk, tasted like my childhood hehe the right amount of sweetness and creamiest latte you'd want. 10/10 They also carry a variety of pastries for about $7. “I was visiting from outside of town looking for a good coffee to try in the morning. Any coffee house with the word 'roasters' in the name always enticed me to try it versus a regular coffee shop. Parking is not ideal so I recommend just going for street parking instead of attempting to drive in their little lot. It is shared with 2 other businesses and there's only 2 spaces actually reserved for the coffee house. It is a decent sized space with lots of seating available, especially for those that opt to work there. Can't comment on whether there are a lot of outlets available or not cause I was just in and out. But it is very quiet and calming space, very welcoming and would be a great place to sit and work at. There is just one register to order at and the cashier was very friendly and helpful when inquiring about their menu. I ordered the espresso dul'sal: an iced espresso that's whipped with cream and sugar, with a sprinkle of black salt on top to finish it off. HOLY COW I love this drink so much. The texture was creamy and velvety, like drinking a cloud! It wasn't overly sweet and the salt was such a nice pairing. I will never try another drink on this menu because it is my new obsession. When ordering there's a giant pastry cabinet next to the register and it's hard to ignore all of the goodies in there. I got a banana chocolate chip coffee cake and they warmed it up for me. It was so light and fluffy, not crazy sweet and the chocolate balanced everything out. Super good but I would still like to try other pastries they offer. This is my new go to when I'm in LA!“

“It's cute, simple and minimalist. The service was great and they do not carry themselves like other pretentious coffee shops like GoodTime or recreational coffee claiming to be diverse. The coffee is great and their donuts are also good. I usually come here to study and it's low key. Come out sometime!“

“Smokey Hollow is convenient, quick and has an ambiance that is super chill and welcoming. The cafe is located in a building that’s walking distance from everything so no matter where I order from, my food will be hot and ready. If the food is not ready, there is a courtyard there where you can play ping pong, corn hole, or miniature golf while waiting. Plus the staff Johnny and Kush need a shoutout as they are pleasant and make amazing coffee drinks. I love working in this building and this one of the best amenities offered so prop to the building management team as well!“

“This place is super cute and I'd say a great place to meet up except that when a friend and I went late afternoon all the tables were completely full with people working on their computers. I love a good coffee place to chill and work, but sheesh! We finally grabbed the one tiny table out front on the busy street. This place is huge, too. But the coffee and staff are awesome. I'd go again... maybe it's how many folks are unemployed due to strikes, or just a busier time that we came by.“

“What a cool coffee shop. I really enjoyed the caramel latte hot with whole milk. So delicious. I also purchased some whole bean dark roast coffee and can’t wait to grind a cup. The breakwater dark roast says it is local. And that they roast to accentuate sweetness, draw out nuances and orchestrate the unique range of acidities. “In Short,It’s a good coffee shop in a good location.With a few more details,Coffee is good. Matcha Latte was good did not need to be sweetened.They seemed to have a good amount of pastries in glass box which protects it and looks good too. Only problem was it had a tiny bug flying around in it. Wasn’t a deterrent honestly. It happens.I tried the almond croissant. The paste inside was amazing and very delicious, but the croissant was a bit too crunchy and hard in some bites which made me think that it was a bit old. It was still good but the coffee and other factors it keeps this place at 4 stars.Decor looked clean and bright and fresh.Staff was helpful and friendly.I like the standing room area. Maybe add another standing bench like that outside too. Just an idea.Location was great for people watching or doing some work (if you find a seat) while being close to the pier and the beach or just meeting someone and hanging out.Also pretty central to grab coffee and continue walking alongside the green belt or boardwalk.Anyway I enjoyed this spot.“

“Decided to purchase a chocolate vegan cake for my cousin since most of the vegan friendly bakeries are closed. The cake was pretty delicious, very chocolatey and sweet. It has raspberries in the middle and on top as well. The only downfall was that the raspberries weren't as fresh, they were a bit mushy. Side note: they aren't writing on cakes during Covid-19.“
