“The peppercorn deep fried Dungeness crab was delicious. It was cooked just right. Meat was fresh, tender and tasty esp with the chopped garlic and peppercorns. The lightly breaded deep fried shell was perfectly seasoned, not too salty. Definitely will come again!“

“It's always a treat getting food from here. They mostly do takeout, but there's a single outdoor table for those who really wanna eat ASAP. The owners run the place and they're both really sweet. The banh mi are solid: fresh, full of textures, well balanced. They serve some other options like vermicelli bowls and occasionally a beef noodle soup on weekends (bun bo hue). They've never missed with my order. Do try their Vietnamese coffee, too!“

“I usually have Pho in the San Jose area. I was visiting my brother-in-law and they took me here for lunch. Street parking space can be hard to find. The restaurant is nice and clean. The service is very good. The Pho is good but not great.“

“This place has very tasty and authentic Hong Kong style food, even though it’s name makes you think it’s Vietnamese. In particular, the breakfast sets are a good deal. One of the sets that I like in particular includes a big bowl of rice porridge and rice rolls or steamed Chinese greens. If you pay one dollar more, you can get a Hong Kong style milk tea. All for around 13 or $14 dollars. You have to come before 11 AM. What I really like about the food here is that they don’t overwhelm the flavor with spices. Most dishes have very little or no salt and even the sugar is moderate in the Hong Kong milk tea. So basically this place seems very healthy. And if you need more soy sauce or salt or pepper or whatever you can add your own.“

“Excellent service and fast delivery of food. Had house special large size noodle that's satisfactory with plenty of noodle and beef with various textures. No thrills shop, not the best broth but with very solid offerings. Service team was wonderful thanks 🙏🏼. Worth the visit😎“
“This place is really great! It’s much better than Nijiya. I wish I knew about this place sooner. I don’t think they accept food stamps, but they’re also a small business (and not a corporate Japanese grocery store). I know it’s not the same as the also-cool Mexican grocery store near the Caltrain station that accepts food stamps, but people are trying. I don’t know what happened to the store, but there was a break in and they called the kops. This was after 2023, but I did ask the owner if they wanted me to reach out to some friends. I know that sounds sketchy, now that I’m writing it out. But I was trying to say that I was going to ask people to non-violently talk to people, like the talking circles that native people use. You can see an example of that on the “reservation dogs” tv show in season 1 (it’s the last episode of the season). Also, the people in the “this fool” comedy are Mexican and/or latine (some of them are not, so there’s diversity) and they also non-violently communicate with people too. That’s why, people in the community - who are not trying to get anything from anyone - should ask people, and it should be a team of people with diverse experiences who understand cultural differences. The people in this town have seen me around, and they know I’m not a drifter Whos just passing through (which is not all that different from a tourist). So I pray for the “tourists” and/or “drifters” because it doesn’t matter how much money or how little money they have: it’s not ok to harm anybody.“

“My favorite dessert spot ever. You will have to see the amount of points in my reward account to understand my love for this store. Whenever I walked in the store, the coconut milk fragrance brought me right back to Vietnam. Chè is my fav dessert, so I am so happy that this store make chè in a pretty authentic way to make me feel less homesick.
This exact Bambu in Milbrae is my fav. I think they make the dessert better than the other location near Stonestown Galleria in SF. My go-to order is number 10 Bambu Special or something like that. The chewy pandan jelly and the red water chestnut jelly in number 10 is the best combo 🤤🤤“
