“This place has very tasty and authentic Hong Kong style food, even though it’s name makes you think it’s Vietnamese. In particular, the breakfast sets are a good deal. One of the sets that I like in particular includes a big bowl of rice porridge and rice rolls or steamed Chinese greens. If you pay one dollar more, you can get a Hong Kong style milk tea. All for around 13 or $14 dollars. You have to come before 11 AM. What I really like about the food here is that they don’t overwhelm the flavor with spices. Most dishes have very little or no salt and even the sugar is moderate in the Hong Kong milk tea. So basically this place seems very healthy. And if you need more soy sauce or salt or pepper or whatever you can add your own.“

“My favorite dessert spot ever. You will have to see the amount of points in my reward account to understand my love for this store. Whenever I walked in the store, the coconut milk fragrance brought me right back to Vietnam. Chè is my fav dessert, so I am so happy that this store make chè in a pretty authentic way to make me feel less homesick.
This exact Bambu in Milbrae is my fav. I think they make the dessert better than the other location near Stonestown Galleria in SF. My go-to order is number 10 Bambu Special or something like that. The chewy pandan jelly and the red water chestnut jelly in number 10 is the best combo 🤤🤤“

“This is hands down the best bánh mì I’ve had in San Francisco.
The meat-to-bread ratio is incredible — the sandwich is generously packed with beef and super satisfying. The flavors are beautifully balanced: a little sweet, a little spicy, with a bright tangy kick. As you keep eating, you can even notice the fresh aroma of lemongrass. Absolutely delicious.
I’m very particular about bánh mì baguettes — they shouldn’t be too thick. I like them light, airy, and shatteringly crisp on the outside. The bread here is exactly how it should be, and it even looks beautiful. Everything just works. I’ll definitely be coming back.“

“Love the food here. Can’t go wrong with any of their banh mi sandwiches! They’re all good!!! Got the bbq pork today and shrimp and chicken spring rolls. The bread is soft with a perfect crunch on the outside. Spring rolls was a perfect size and you get 3 with your choice of sauce. It’s located in a shopping center so lots of parking. Got our food at a reasonable amount of time… about 10 mins. Store is clean and staff is super friendly. There is outdoor seating in case you want to bring your pup:).“

“Third times a charm. They were open this time. So i put my laundry in the wash next door and headed over to Kitten.
I had the shrimp Mayo toasted Bread. I thought it was great. Also had the egg roll plate. They were pretty good. Both items were served popping hot. I had to wait and let them cool. This is always a must for me... hot food needs to be hot.
I had the BBQ pork sandwich. It was a little salty for me but im also getting over a cold and my tastey buds are probably a little wacky.
The bread was fresh and perfect crunchy.
All in all I will give this place another shot.“

“It's always a treat getting food from here. They mostly do takeout, but there's a single outdoor table for those who really wanna eat ASAP. The owners run the place and they're both really sweet. The banh mi are solid: fresh, full of textures, well balanced. They serve some other options like vermicelli bowls and occasionally a beef noodle soup on weekends (bun bo hue). They've never missed with my order. Do try their Vietnamese coffee, too!“

“Café Bunn Mi in South San Francisco is hands-down one of my favorite spots for comfort food!
Their garlic noodles are absolutely delicious full of flavor and perfectly cooked every time. I pay for extra noodles! I spoil myself like that all the time!
The imperial rolls and egg rolls are always crispy, fresh, and packed with goodness. For the imperial rolls I always pay for extra lettuce! They come with the vermicelli noodles and fish sauce!!!
Their fried chicken sandwich is another must-try: crunchy, juicy, and so satisfying.
And of course, you can’t forget the Thai iced tea sweet, creamy, and the perfect drink to tie it all together.
Great food, great service, and always consistent. Highly recommend!“

“The pho, noticeably fragrant. 20 hours of simmering evident in the deepness of taste, buttery from the marrow drawn from bones. Clean and translucent broth, an indicator of quality. The wait time, a result of perfectly boiled-to-order rice noodles. What’s missing in decor is over-compensated by taste. Come for a rare-find bowl of solid noodle soup — no frills, but very simply delicious.“

“the atmosphere is big and some space but its loud and it feels like a pit of people but tbh its not bad but in general sense its quite loud and alot of people in a small but big room, service is good but they can be feisty but not really but they ain’t scared to be but this pho is very comforting and delicious the broth is bussin this is the expectation of some solid comforting pho not really fancy tasting or special tasting, the price is just a bit more affordable then other stores only bad thing is that i don’t recommend take out, they serve everything separated and the meat is raw but if boiled itl be fine but im not doing all of those steps just for take out food“

“There is nothing more exciting in the morning than freshly baked French rolls, Vietnamese coffee, and a Banh mi for lunch. This is one of those gems where the rolls used in its Banh mi’s are baked fresh daily.
These are some of the best Bain mi’s in town. I’ve tried them all with my favorite being the combo pork and lemongrass pork. If I had more time, I would love to sit on the outside table watching traffic go by while enjoying my meal here.
The best part is you can get 5 Banh mi’s or 4 Banh mi’s + 1 drink for $36.
Nothing fancy, but good food and local ambience. Enjoy!“

“I'dve shared a photo of the breakfast bahn mi, but I scarfed it up! Paulette has a sweet little set up at the Sunday Stonestown Farmer's Market serving up noodles, bahn mi, and congee (cháo).
The bahn mi... Can I just recommend that you wait like 5 minutes after it's made for the egg to ooze into the baguette? It's h.e.a.v.e.n.!“

“The pad thai $12.95 was good. It sounded interesting to order a Thai dish at a Vietnamese restaurant. The portion was small and left me wanting. It came with a side of clear soup. Zero wait at lunch on a Saturday at noon as I'm the customer. A few people came through to pick up their go-to orders. My stir fried noodles were ready in about 10 minutes. The restaurant could use a deep cleaning as the tables are sticky but I didn't smell anything weird. This is a charming small restaurant with four tables serving good noodles on Leland St. There isn't a lot of restaurants on this block. Good job staff at Pho Luen Fat.“

“Best sandwich ever in Excelsior area The bread is always crunchy and the meat is amazingly flavorful. My always choice is of course #6 grilled pork with well-seasoned meat and abundantly fresh veggies. #3 combination is also a should-try . It is what I believe the most traditional one. Besides these, a must-have is definitely Vietnamese ice coffee. It is made strong and sweet beautifully bringing me back the flavor which I always miss when being away from home. A strongly- recommended spot when you are in the area...“

“Kevin's Noodle House is the proverbial new kid on the block on Grand Avenue, and it has stepped right into direct competition with Ben Tre. It honestly feels like two local titans going head to head for neighborhood pho supremacy.
That said, I personally prefer Kevin's. I definitely have a soft spot for it since I grew up going to their other locations, and this one delivers that same familiar comfort. The food hits the spot, the flavors are consistent, and it feels dependable in the way a good noodle house should.
The space is clean and modern, and service has been friendly and efficient every time I have been. They renovated this building quite well. Ben Tre is still a strong option and longtime favorite for many, but Kevin's feels a little more my speed. One little quirk I noticed about the waiters - none of them write down orders. They are very good and always get it right. I am glad they opened here, and I will keep coming back.“

“Amongst many local eateries this was a gem. Great service with a smile. The decor is simple and familiar and includes a large screen video of Vietnamese food preparation.
Coming ourselves from a city full of Vietnamese restaurants the flavours here were spot on. The portions were larger than we expected.“

“Honestly can't even complain. Perfect for late night food. Piping hot pho. Good flavor bbq pork. Even has beverages as well. Service can be a bit slow, but if you're going late at night you have nothing to worry about. Definitely will come back again if i get the late night munchies.“

“Not bad for Daly City. The restaurant was mostly empty on a Monday evening. The menu has a big +$1 price adjustment on top. My Five Spice Chicken garlic noodles $16 tasted OK. The chicken was a bit dry. Luckily they have fish sauce on the side. The pickled vegetables were served on top of leave lettuce. The garlic noodles had a hint of butter and a mild garlic taste. The disappointing part was that some of the noodles would break apart due to them being flimsy. Service was fine as I received a water refill. I was left a bit hungry still and had to get some popcorn chicken and a Thai iced tea next door.“

“Upon entering Pho Ha Tien, one is immediately enveloped by a symphony of olfactory splendor—the unmistakable perfume of star anise, charred ginger, and long-simmered marrow-infused broth coalesces into something near-spiritual. The ambience, though unpretentious, serves as the perfect stage upon which culinary transcendence is performed. Each bowl of pho is not merely a dish, but a poetic revelation—a sensorial tapestry that awakens dormant memories and ignites the imagination. With each sip of the deeply umami-laden broth, I am transported—not to the streets of Saigon, necessarily, but somewhere ineffably tender and personal. Despite my unmistakable upbringing as a white male from suburban America, this broth whispers to me in a language I didn’t know I knew, recalling long-forgotten afternoons of innocence and warmth, as if my soul had been waiting to remember this flavor all along.
The imperial rolls arrive like minimalist sculptures—clean, delicate, and hiding unexpected complexity beneath translucent rice paper. The sauce, velvety and subtly nuanced, functions as a kind of edible sonnet, perfectly complementing the verdant crunch within. There is a certain ineffable lightness to the entire experience, as though each bite cleanses not just the palate but the spirit. I departed Pho Ha Tien feeling unburdened and luminously restored, as if kissed by the breeze of a midsummer morning. One doesn’t merely dine here; one communes with something essential, something eternal.
If you can only do one thing with the rest of your life, you’d be remiss to not visit pho ha tien“

“A great soot with beautifully curated atmosphere. The menu prices and offerings are what I would expect for a Bay area viet restaurant (banh mi around $10, pho around $17). Service is very friendly and attentive! I haven’t had their pho yet but their banh mi is good. I will have to come back and try more of the menu!“

“Very small place, old place with a couple of clean fish tanks. The menu looked like it had been recently edited with higher pricing. Small pho of soup was $20.00. Soup was tasty and noodles had nice texture. The beef was ok and the vegetables were fresh.“

“Ordered the combo pork with pate, fancy pork, head cheese, ham, mayo, pickled carrot and onion. I also added jalapeño. The combination of the toasted bread and generous pate made the sandwich crunchy and moist. Meats and veggie were very tasty with the pickled carrots. Price is right and sandwich are very good. I will come back for more.“

“When you're not feeling too well, and need some hot and soupy goodness, try out this hole in a wall family restaurant that specializes in Vietnamese pho ga. It's chicken noodles. If you feel adventurous, go with the chicken and intestines, which is actually very small strips of chicken and thin sliced gizzards and liver. You also get your choice of regular pho that gives your mouth some springy chewing satisfaction, thin vermicelli style, or slurpy knife cut style noodles. Sticks to your ribs, clears your sinus and friendly to your wallet.
The place is not where I'll bring a first date. Bare bones wall, sounds echoing all over the place.
The service is brisk, but sufficient.
Only metered steet parking available and you will feel pretty lucky if you can find a spot within a block if this restaurant.“

“FOOD 4.5
Ordered the Bun cha with pork and imperial rolls topped with crushed peanuts. Slivered cucumbers, bean sprouts and lettuce under the rice noodles. Nuoc Mam dipping sauce with shredded carrots served on the side. Plenty of pork brochettes and imperial rolls. Volume of food is significant, and I couldn’t finish it by myself. Very yummy.
Friend ordered beef pho. Soup is aromatic with lots of star anise and clove. Thin noodles. Yummy

“Great food. Good space for families and large-ish groups to spread out. (Probably no more than 10-12 people though. It's not a stadium lol) Floor was a bit slick when we were there. It wasn't dirty. Clean, so I think it must have been a cleaning product they were using. I mention it only because if you have people in your group with difficulties walking, you should check the floor first. Service was good, but we did have a rather extended wait. It was a busy night. They also forgot my order and I had to go ask for it after everyone else had been served. Small hiccups in an otherwise excellent meal. Quality of the food was excellent.“
“Great food and nice people! It’s a family run/owned business. They have a wide selection at low prices! The pho is the best I’ve had in the SF Bay Area! Always a great choice of where to eat.
Nobody asked me to make this post, but this place is a hidden gem and I want people to know.“

“Good food, kind staff! Hard to find anything open late around here, so I'm glad for this place.
Had delicious hot Thai tea and iced milk tea while my partner enjoyed beef pho. I was pleasantly surprised to see veggie pho on the menu and will have to come back to try it.
Not sure if the ownership changed or who past negative reviews are mentioning in regard to service. We were served by a friendly and good-humored senior Vietnamese man.“
