“Chicken Pho You is a small hole in the wall restaurant right along Broadway in Millbrae. Super convenient parking, and it was quite busy during the morning hours!
They have a few breakfast sets to choose from, and they're all very reasonably priced. I ended up getting the satay beef noodle, a classic Cantonese dish. There was a good amount of beef, and it delivered flavor wise!“

“My favorite dessert spot ever. You will have to see the amount of points in my reward account to understand my love for this store. Whenever I walked in the store, the coconut milk fragrance brought me right back to Vietnam. Chè is my fav dessert, so I am so happy that this store make chè in a pretty authentic way to make me feel less homesick.
This exact Bambu in Milbrae is my fav. I think they make the dessert better than the other location near Stonestown Galleria in SF. My go-to order is number 10 Bambu Special or something like that. The chewy pandan jelly and the red water chestnut jelly in number 10 is the best combo 🤤🤤“

“Fast pick up spot. Got the vermicelli bowl. Big portion. Lots of lemongrass meat. 2 sauces. Toasted peanuts on top. I ate it for lunch and dinner. Across from glen park bart. If you are doing a cross town trail. Grab a sandwich. Discount for multiple sandwiches. Thank you!!!“

“Really yummy hidden gem. I lived a few blocks away from this place for many years and love coming back. I usually get one the vermicelli plates which are generous & affordable. Lots of more foot traffic in the neighborhood than pre-COVID these days but even with the crowds not enough people check this place out.“

“The packaging is shockingly rugged, but don't let that fool you—the taste is surprisingly good for the price. Plus, they have a 'buy 4, get 1 free' deal. If you care more about flavor than fancy presentation, this place is an absolute steal.“

“Best sandwich ever in Excelsior area The bread is always crunchy and the meat is amazingly flavorful. My always choice is of course #6 grilled pork with well-seasoned meat and abundantly fresh veggies. #3 combination is also a should-try . It is what I believe the most traditional one. Besides these, a must-have is definitely Vietnamese ice coffee. It is made strong and sweet beautifully bringing me back the flavor which I always miss when being away from home. A strongly- recommended spot when you are in the area...“

“I order from Cafe Bunn Mi regularly, and they absolutely nail it every single time. The food is always great and incredibly fresh. It’s rare to find a spot that is this consistent with their quality, but they never disappoint.
On top of the excellent food, the staff is always super friendly and welcoming. The prices are also totally fair and appropriate for the solid portions and quality you get. If you’re looking for a reliable, delicious meal in South SF, this is definitely the place to go!“

“Me and my friend were both in the area where we were hungry and I asked what should we get to eat. My friend was craving for a Banh mi, so I did some research where I discovered this place and we both agreed to give it a try. Upon arrival, this place is basically a hole in the wall that has one table outside for anyone that chooses to eat there. There was just one customer ahead of us, but that was not a problem since we needed time to browse their menu and decide what to have. After a couple of minutes we knew what we wanted and a friendly staff greeted us and took our order. Everything here is made to order which is always a plus for me since it is quality over quantity and I never mind the wait since I am a very patient person. Their menu consists of a variety of Banh mi to choose from, salads, spring rolls, bowls, vermicelli items, refrigerated/house made drinks, pho is also an option and much more to choose from. As time went by the place quickly got busy with many customers coming by to place their orders. Finally our items arrived and each Banh mi comes with a small bag of chips which is just the perfect pair. Overall the food and experience was a satisfying one thanks to their professional, well trained and understanding staffs. I highly recommend this place to all Banh Mi enthusiasts, if you are in need of a quick bite just like me, to anyone willing to try something new or if you just so happen to be in the area to check them out. I definitely will be back to tryout the other delicious options they have to offer.“

“We went here for lunch while in San Francisco on business. I had the roasted duck and barbecued pork on rice, and it was excellent. The other three colleagues that were with me said theirs was outstanding also. One of them is a local and makes a point of going there weekly. Service was just a little bit slower than what I would have expected since we were there early right when they opened, but perhaps that's why it was a little slow because they had just barely opened for the day. The staff were exceptionally friendly and kind. Prices for very reasonable and parking was easy. I definitely recommend this place for a great lunch meal.“

“The pad thai $12.95 was good. It sounded interesting to order a Thai dish at a Vietnamese restaurant. The portion was small and left me wanting. It came with a side of clear soup. Zero wait at lunch on a Saturday at noon as I'm the customer. A few people came through to pick up their go-to orders. My stir fried noodles were ready in about 10 minutes. The restaurant could use a deep cleaning as the tables are sticky but I didn't smell anything weird. This is a charming small restaurant with four tables serving good noodles on Leland St. There isn't a lot of restaurants on this block. Good job staff at Pho Luen Fat.“

“It’s a busy place with lots of seating. They seat you quickly, they bring the food out almost immediately after ordering. The pho broth is delicious and flavorful with generous amounts of all the standard sides and sauce options. They have large servings with a side of lettuce, cucumber, and pickled carrot and radish. The drinks are quite good as well. I’d definitely recommend this place for a quick and delicious meal!“

“I'dve shared a photo of the breakfast bahn mi, but I scarfed it up! Paulette has a sweet little set up at the Sunday Stonestown Farmer's Market serving up noodles, bahn mi, and congee (cháo).
The bahn mi... Can I just recommend that you wait like 5 minutes after it's made for the egg to ooze into the baguette? It's h.e.a.v.e.n.!“

“Amongst many local eateries this was a gem. Great service with a smile. The decor is simple and familiar and includes a large screen video of Vietnamese food preparation.
Coming ourselves from a city full of Vietnamese restaurants the flavours here were spot on. The portions were larger than we expected.“

“Kevin's Noodle House is the proverbial new kid on the block on Grand Avenue, and it has stepped right into direct competition with Ben Tre. It honestly feels like two local titans going head to head for neighborhood pho supremacy.
That said, I personally prefer Kevin's. I definitely have a soft spot for it since I grew up going to their other locations, and this one delivers that same familiar comfort. The food hits the spot, the flavors are consistent, and it feels dependable in the way a good noodle house should.
The space is clean and modern, and service has been friendly and efficient every time I have been. They renovated this building quite well. Ben Tre is still a strong option and longtime favorite for many, but Kevin's feels a little more my speed. One little quirk I noticed about the waiters - none of them write down orders. They are very good and always get it right. I am glad they opened here, and I will keep coming back.“

“I stopped by for lunch not long after opening and as soon as I come in the lobby of the medical building Banh Mi Love is located in i was met with so many savory fresh smells... Some of the meats, the fresh bread and spices.
The place seems to be ran by a mother/daughter combo, or at least a similar age difference and they're very warm and friendly taking my order and offering the jalepeno option. Initially I got a combo pork banh mi, and a passionfruit lemonade. After I paid (cash and cards are fine) I noticed the Vietnamese lays and got a bag of fried crab flavored chips. The spicy hot pot looked good too but I wasn't feeling spicy that day.
The sandwich was absolutely lovely. I could taste the individual pork, pickled veg, and vinegary tang of the sauce, all coming together to be more than the sum of their parts. The bread is a standout being crispy and flaky, but not dry, although I do like it a little chewier. Close to classic Vietnamese baguette. The lemonade was sublime and would get again even at 4.50. the pate was a little moved to one side, but I got a ton of perfect bites with all the meats and shallot and carrot. The chips tasted like imitation crab that was fried in potato chips and tempura batter, really enjoyed their unique taste. All this was just about 20 bucks, but with my own water and skipping the chips I could get an amazing lunch for 10 bucks.
The parking garage is free and the door into the lobby from the first floor of the garage is like 10 feet from the restaurant. I would go out of my way to come here, or even better walk over from the galleria for a yummy treat. Please come try this place.“

“We ordered the #1 Combination Pork bánh mì and it was really big and delicious. You could clearly taste the Vietnamese ham and cold cuts, and all the ingredients worked so well together.
The Vietnamese drip coffee was very good, and the Thai tea was also delicious without being overly sweet. The ladies there were super friendly and welcoming, which made the place feel warm and comfortable.
The only small downside is that parking can be a little difficult, but it’s definitely worth it. We’ll definitely be coming back many more time“

“I usually have Pho in the San Jose area. I was visiting my brother-in-law and they took me here for lunch. Street parking space can be hard to find. The restaurant is nice and clean. The service is very good. The Pho is good but not great.“
“This place is really great! It’s much better than Nijiya. I wish I knew about this place sooner. I don’t think they accept food stamps, but they’re also a small business (and not a corporate Japanese grocery store). I know it’s not the same as the also-cool Mexican grocery store near the Caltrain station that accepts food stamps, but people are trying. I don’t know what happened to the store, but there was a break in and they called the kops. This was after 2023, but I did ask the owner if they wanted me to reach out to some friends. I know that sounds sketchy, now that I’m writing it out. But I was trying to say that I was going to ask people to non-violently talk to people, like the talking circles that native people use. You can see an example of that on the “reservation dogs” tv show in season 1 (it’s the last episode of the season). Also, the people in the “this fool” comedy are Mexican and/or latine (some of them are not, so there’s diversity) and they also non-violently communicate with people too. That’s why, people in the community - who are not trying to get anything from anyone - should ask people, and it should be a team of people with diverse experiences who understand cultural differences. The people in this town have seen me around, and they know I’m not a drifter Whos just passing through (which is not all that different from a tourist). So I pray for the “tourists” and/or “drifters” because it doesn’t matter how much money or how little money they have: it’s not ok to harm anybody.“

“Solid pho place with good portions of tender steak meat. Broth could use more umami flavor and noodles could be chewier. The place is clean but a bit dim for my liking. “When you're not feeling too well, and need some hot and soupy goodness, try out this hole in a wall family restaurant that specializes in Vietnamese pho ga. It's chicken noodles. If you feel adventurous, go with the chicken and intestines, which is actually very small strips of chicken and thin sliced gizzards and liver. You also get your choice of regular pho that gives your mouth some springy chewing satisfaction, thin vermicelli style, or slurpy knife cut style noodles. Sticks to your ribs, clears your sinus and friendly to your wallet.
The place is not where I'll bring a first date. Bare bones wall, sounds echoing all over the place.
The service is brisk, but sufficient.
Only metered steet parking available and you will feel pretty lucky if you can find a spot within a block if this restaurant.“

“FOOD 4.5
Ordered the Bun cha with pork and imperial rolls topped with crushed peanuts. Slivered cucumbers, bean sprouts and lettuce under the rice noodles. Nuoc Mam dipping sauce with shredded carrots served on the side. Plenty of pork brochettes and imperial rolls. Volume of food is significant, and I couldn’t finish it by myself. Very yummy.
Friend ordered beef pho. Soup is aromatic with lots of star anise and clove. Thin noodles. Yummy
SERVICE 3

“Stopped by for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The place was busy, but the service was fast. We had beef pho and tofu/vegetables with rice. The pho tasted good, but it was mostly broth, more veggies would be nice. The tofu- vegetable dish toasted ok, but it wasn't juicy enough to mix it with the rice, I had to use a lot of soy sauce, which I don't necessarily prefer, since it too salty.“

“Post EDC arrival home meal? Post vacation food from any flights into SFO? Hangover recovery food? Kevin's the standard when it comes to pho that can bring you back to life. If it can't, you've probably gone too far.
One thing to note - no matter how hungry you think you are, you will not be able to finish the #1 Large. Its too large.“

“I’ve been here before and it’s so good, in my humble opinion. You can also see “Ryder park” if you take the long way around, and go to the one in foster city. My mom used to work here. Don’t harm anyone, especially immigrant women! Or else, you’ll have to watch out for “la llorona” and “Bloody Mary” and other “venenas” according to the hbo max tv show. Not everyone is gonna be nice like the “los espookys” people. I don’t even know what “fantasmas” is about, because I haven’t watched it yet.“

Had delicious hot Thai tea and iced milk tea while my partner enjoyed beef pho. I was pleasantly surprised to see veggie pho on the menu and will have to come back to try it.
Not sure if the ownership changed or who past negative reviews are mentioning in regard to service. We were served by a friendly and good-humored senior Vietnamese man.“
