“This place is very close to achieving what it's setting out to do: provide an elegant vegetarian dining experience. I think that might be hard to pull off in a strip mall however. The food and the art are fantastic but the interior design was poorly executed and comes off looking a little cheap. I went for my birthday but for the price this might have been a one time experience. Updated from previous review on 2024-04-06“

“The little plates are yummy. I love the pita bread that came with the hummus (Salatim plate). The other plates were good also. I loved the bread pudding (I think it's better than the best cake). What I like the most about Bacari, besides the beautiful ambiance, is the friendliest staff.“

“Thick crust with tons of flavor, with a crispy initial crunch then a soft chewy bread party with lots of air bubbles and oil. Toppings are fabulous. A few vegetarian options exist. The cakes, cream pies, and cookies are equally special. This is a memorable pizza place that you'll talk about for weeks and think about for the rest of the year. $6-8 per smallish 6 inch square slice -- two is typical. Tables for eating in are few and hard to get (waiting for a few hours is not unlikely). Lines are long for take out. Minimal street parking. Friendly and kind service. I'll definitely be coming back.“

“Great slices and great customer service. Might be the best crust in LA. I heard they use something like 27 different flours or something wild. Whatever it is, the attention to detail really shines through. You can tell it’s special just looking at it, but biting in, it’s obviously special. Incredible flavor throughout. “My daughter recommended this place so we gave it a try. There was only a handful of people there… it was a Tuesday. We sat in the outdoor area. We ordered two different veggie pizzas and bread sticks (kinda pricey). There wasn’t much to choose from on the menu. The food was more like an appetizer size serving but It was delicious. I have nothing negative to say about the taste of the food or the atmosphere.However, the parking was insane. We parked directly at the curb next to the entrance of the outdoor eating area. It’s metered parking. We had to add coins every 15 minutes… it only allowed 15 minutes before it capped out ?. I’ve read others say it was an hour meter, well it wasn’t the day we visited. I set a timer on my phone (a ticket would have ruined my day).It was a nice restaurant. I experienced it once but I’m sure I won’t come again.“

“If Italian restaurants in Italy can have a gluten free pasta option then so can Bacetti. Time to get with the 21st century. Other than that, the atmosphere was amazing, as was the wine by the glass selection. Don’t bother trying to find street parking though, go straight for the valet—I wasted 10 minutes thinking I’d find something. Gratuity of 20% is included in your bill but expect average LA service that will provide service at their convenience.“

“I’ve visited the WeHo location but tried the Silverlake one and was NOT disappointed.The Cacio e Pepe pizza is one of the best pizzas I’ve had in my life. (Although, I have not been to Italy)I think about that Parmesan creama often lol.But I literally drove an hour to have this pizza.The server was attentive, gave thoughtful (and delicious) recommendations, and made for a great experience.Note: Parking sucks - but where does it not in LA? “Finally got to try this place!!! It’s usually open from 5pm to midnight and for some reason the timing just never worked out. We tried the Gordo pizza and mozzarella sticks. It was soooooooo good!! They really take their time into making your pie perfect. The place had four small round tables for seating but it’s mostly takeout. I will definitely be back to try other pizzas and this place is getting added to my top pizza places list ?“

“A very pretty friend and I decided to try Bestia on a Thursday at 5pm. After arriving and entering an outdoor patio that leads into the indoor seating, we couldn't help notice the bright blue wall, nicely trimmed tree, outdoor string lights all coming together to make a quiet eating experience but my pretty woman friend wanted us to experience the inside. Inside was livelier, more people, closely positioned tables,and an open kitchen facing the eating area. Cool modern music that's not too loud. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. We ordered the coconut red chili oil scallops garnished with herbs and a slice of strawberry. I was pleased with the combination of flavors. Then we shared the bone marrow pasta, which was packed with savory flavors and interesting soft textures. It was delicious. Of course, we had to try the herb ceasar salad everyone raves about when talking about Bestia, and the hype is all true. We then shared a marguarita pizza and let me say this, despite the overly salted tomato sauce, the napolitano style crust elevated the rest of the pizza ingredients. I had old sunglasses: a tequila blanco cocktail with sweet citrus flavors all well balanced, I couldn't just have 1. My pretty friend had unsweetened ice tea, which was refreshing with a subtle fruit flavor. For dessert, we shared the chocolate dessert with a crispy sweet and salty crust that complimented the rich thick chocolate mouse that was just the right amount of sweet. It's the kind of place you take an attractive friend you really, really like. Recommend you plan at least a couple of weeks ahead to get a table because this place has a big following.“

“I just hurt myself trying to finish the GF Detroit style... damn good pizza. I'm a "sauce man" and I would put there red sauce over pasta and bon appetit it; no questions asked. Great mozzarella (with that authentic salty milkiness) and quality toppings. If you're gluten free like me, this is the best pizza in LA hands down. Prior to my GF life, pizza was my favorite food group and I've eaten it all over. You can always tell a good pie by the components. There is a quality and style that goes into the pizza here. Canned sauce is disgusting and evident during the first bite at other shops. Once again, the sauce is great here. Park near Astro and walk over as that lot is not fun to try and get into or out of. I will be back“

“Clean, airy, delicious. Staff is friendly and service is quick. Some of the best pizza dough I've ever had in LA. Baked in wood burning pizza oven, these pizzas feel like a cross between New York and Naples type pizza. Great place for large groups and children. Our family's new go-to pizza joint. “First time trying this spot out. We picked up since we live a block away walked there and man I am so happy we have a great wood-fired pie in the neighborhood! What a great pizza!! We got the deluxe which for the prize was decently priced. The pizza is wood-fired so the crust was amazing. The sauce, cheese, and toppings were very good and I am so glad that this spot opened up in Burbank since the city is lacking a good pie place. I definitely recommend them and will be back. “Honestly, came here for the 4.9 rating on Google and the place honestly didn’t disappoint! David is super duper friendly, helped us with some questions and had a smile througout. That’s what i guess good customer service is. They have pizza slices but we ordered a small pesto chicken pizza and it is the BEST i have had till date. The pesto had a nice tangy flavor to it, chicken was cooked to perfection and the crust had just that perfect crunch! This place is a MUST visit. Thank me later :)“

“The pizza was solid from LaSorted’s. I had the Spicy But Oh So Sweet Boy and added some red onions and bell peppers to it. The dough was crispy and chewy just like it’s supposed to be. I supplemented it with some buffalo wings and the traveling kale salad. The wings were plump and meaty and the salad was fresh and hearty. I also grabbed the Stepfather Hoagie for lunch the next day and while I enjoyed it the bread got pretty hard overnight in the fridge and probably wasn’t a fair representation of the sandwich itself. I’ll have to go back for a do-over on that one. The staff here was pretty friendly too. This place has a great story and is a wonderful small business that you should consider giving a try because I’m confident you won’t be disappointed.“

“Love everything about this bar from the regulars to the staff. Bartenders always fast and even show patience for those who waste time when the bar is crowded. Froze is a must and of course the pizza is delicious. “I am not one to provide reviews but I am a pesto lover, and it is one dish that is usually made in a variety of ways that are so-so. Well I finally found a place that makes a superbly "real" pesto!!!!! The inclusion of mint was a delicious addition. A true Italian dish does not require bread, and salads are usually eaten after the main meal. The portions were perfect and filling and the broccolini and pasta were all dented. I will try the brunch next, but I highly recommend this place. Karina and Francisco were great.“

“The last few times I came here I always ordered breakfast items (breakfast burrito, French toast, etc) they’re good but pretty mid. Today we decided to give this place another go and was pleasantly surprised. The Pancho and Pesto pizzas were so good and the portions are very large. Tofu bowl, chicken shawarma, and chicken pesto sandwich were also amazing! Service is ok. Despite it being busy as always we were seated immediately. “This is one of my favorite pizza places now. The photo gallery in their website totally does the pizza justice. It is as good as it photographs! I never had Detroit-style pizza. I don't take part in the Great Pizza Debate with regional styles vying for Best Pizza Ever. Pizza is either good or it's average. The flavors and textures between cheese, crust and sauce are either balanced and each component delicious, or the magic just doesn't happen. Whenever I try thick, rectangular pizza slices I'm always disappointed in either sauce, cheese, or crust. I always hoped that pizza would taste like these slices. This pizza is the paradigm of what a thick square slice of pizza should be-- a sauce that is deliciously balanced between sweet, tangy, and savory-- the perfect intermediary between cheese and carbs. Speaking of carbs, a nice thick crust, just doughy enough to feel your teeth sink into, but with the edges perfectly carmelized to support the slice as it makes its way to your pizza pie-hole. The cheese was-- well, cheese, but cheese that goes all the way to the edge of the crust, caramelized to a deep golden brown against the pie pan. On this maiden visit, we tried both the Margherita and the Biggio. The Biggio is their version of a meat lover's pizza-- pepperoni, Italian sausage, ham, and bacon. The ham and bacon, however, lent a smoky flavor -- almost too barbecue-ish -- for a non-bbq pizza. I know this is Detroit pizza but it was almost a little too un-Italian to us. The Margherita pizza, on the other hand, was crave-worthy. The cheese, sauce, and crust converged into a balance of flavor -- sweet, savory, and tangy, as well as texture -- doughy, crispy, the cheesy stretchiness, the caramelized edges.... I thought this slice was pizza, pure and simple, delicious in its simplicity. Even the tomato slices seemed to be cut the right thickness. I got ours to-go and tried calling ahead-- several times. No go, so I had to order when I got there. The pizzaria (suite #203) lives on the second floor of a two story mini-mall, overlooking the street-side dining lanes on Colorado. The parking lot is also on the second floor which is convenient, the entrance of which is on Mentor, just south of Colorado. Our order took 20 minutes to prepare-- well worth the wait. We also ordered a Caesar salad. Their Caesar was a mix of iceberg and romaine and was fine. Just know that their Caesar salads are tossed-- a dealbreaker for some if you're not into lifeless salads. Just remember this if you're ordering to-go and have to drive a ways before digging in. There is no soda fountain in the restaurant. Beverages are canned. After trying their pizza I appreciate this. I also liked how their menu is simple-- there are just two salads offered and most importantly their pizza, but really, their pizza is all you'll really need. Detroit or otherwise, it's just really good pizza.“

“Our favorite pizza place in L.A. out of more than a dozen we've been to. We always get their XL Flyin' Hawaiian which has pineapple, Canadian bacon, and (real) bacon bits.Also, their music is so awesome- usually reggae or something similarly upbeat and laid back. I'm always Shazaming songs while waiting for the pizzaParmesan and pepper flake shakers are usually on the tables but if they forgot just ask, they're really good. It's worth it to ask“

“I’ve been a diehard loyalist to the Arts District Pizzanista, and it’s still so odd to me that they opened one in sleepy San Marino, but no complaints from me! “Three generations of our family have been going here since the 1970s. The food is delicious. With your entree you get soup and salad. I got the scampi which is always good. The ice cream, spumoni, is a must. It's authentic. The atmosphere is lovely and just perfect for this restaurant. My dinner party had manicotti which was good. Prices are reasonable and we took leftovers home. Highly recommend .Parking: We got the street parking. The lot is quite small.Kid-friendliness: There is a kid's entree.“

“Cute and vintage on the inside, too nice though to not sit on the sidewalk patio. Prices are steeper than indicated--$$-$$$. So much gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan selection though, and safely labeled. As in they seem to really understand cross contamination and not joist call something GF even though it then goes in the frier. Anyway, all day breakfast with both the enchiladas and juevos rancheros we're truly out of this world. The sauces, the fresh guac, cilantro, came out hot and so visually appealing I didn't stop to take a photo. Shakes were unbelievably creamy. Kids had what looked like the best burgers of their lives on fresh toasted rolls, thick melty cheese, and lacy crisp edges on the beef. The onion rings looked, sounded, and smelled amazing but I didn't eat one... gluten. “We had our son’s wedding rehearsal dinner here last week and it was truly wonderful. The food was fantastic, brilliantly served, more than ample. The atmosphere was gorgeous, filled with flowers not billed to us. Marietta, the co-owner, was totally easy to work with, more than fullfilled our expectations.
