Special shout to Sarah who makes the best bread of all the Subway locations I have patronized. She greets all her customers with a smile and is very speedy with her service. “The pastrami dip at The Hat is legendary, and for good reason. The portions are massive, and the meat is juicy and tender. The fries are also ridiculously large—enough to share with two or three people. The place has a no-frills, diner-like feel. It’s indulgent comfort food at its best“

Far from fancy, but a nice place for a sandwich and chit chat with friends, either sitting inside or outside. Parking lot is free for first 90 minutes. “I stopped by Mike’s Deli in DTLA on my way to Union Station, and I’m glad I did! While the store itself isn’t flashy at all, they do produce some extremely good sandwiches.

The girl working at the counter was very friendly and welcoming. I ordered a Mike’s Deli #1, which is essentially a spicy version of a turkey avocado sandwich. The sandwich was super fresh and bursting with flavor.

Really, every aspect of this sandwich was memorable, and the meat-to-vegetable-to-bread ratio was on point. The bread was very fluffy and nice, too.

It’s an d-school, simple deli that doesn’t stand out cosmetically, but it’s clean, welcoming, and they pump out some top-tier deli sandwiches at reasonable prices.“

“I always get the Market Chicken sandwitch and for $10 you really cannot beat it; the bacon is so flavorful and the chicken is well seasoned, the arugula and sauce add the perfect amount of freshness. The line can get crazy at lunchtime but they are pretty quick with orders and stuff.“

“Off-the-charts delicious. And that’s coming from someone who’s eaten pizza all over the world — including unforgettable Neapolitan pizza in Naples.

I ordered a slice of the “Green” pizza and the Caesar salad, which is hands down the best Caesar I’ve ever had. The pizza crust is incredibly flavorful with the perfect consistency, and the edge of the crust had just the right thickness with beautiful airy pockets. Absolute perfection.

The Caesar deserves its own shoutout: homemade croutons that were so good they could be a menu item on their own.

However I have been disappointed with ALL of them except for the one in Pasadena. Always great service, the bread is always soft with great texture (not stale), plenty of meat. Other Lee’s give and embarrassing amount of meat. Lee’ Pasadena I will always drive extra to come see you.“

“Mendocino Farms is in a beautiful, easy to spot location right off the main road, and the space itself feels modern and welcoming. It’s a little on the pricier side, but the quality definitely makes up for it. I ordered takeout and was impressed that everything still tasted fresh and delicious by the time I got home. The menu has lots of lighter, healthier options, which I really appreciate. I tried the Peruvian steak sandwich and it was so flavorful and satisfying easily a new favorite. Great service and tasty food overall. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more!“
