“Enjoyed a wonderful family dinner, with 3 generations of family. This place has wonderful sauce, and all the dinners, brought praises. Great casual atmosphere, and the staff is top-notch. We also enjoyed the delicious deserts, too! I highly recommend this place: for taste & value. If you're in the area, stop here. Portions are huge, btw!“

“We were delayed on a flight back to Dallas and decided to find “the best seafood in San Diego”. WOW. This meal did not disappoint. We started with the clam chowder which was great. We had the mixed fried seafood platter and added an extra piece of fish ($2.50) for a total of two fish on the plate so that we could both have a piece. The fried fish, crab cake and shrimp were some of the best that I’ve ever had. THe calamari was fairly bland, so I’m glad that we didn’t get a full order of it as I had originally planned. We also ordered the wahoo grilled seafood platter with macaroni. Both were delicious. The service was top notch with staff constantly around to help with anything needed. Overall great experience and fantastic food. We will definitely return!“

“Nice smoky and spicy flavors; as Marc Murphy says, "seasoned with authority." Very nice staff. The cucumber pickles took me right back to my childhood, to family dinners on the High Plains, prepared by my bachelor farmer great-uncles and an unmarried aunt or two, who had their Southern roots in their memories. “So many things I could have ordered, the options on this menu are vast, delicious, and represent both the American diner the place started as as well as the Mexican roots of the owner. If you like good food this super friendly, no fuss but all flavour place, is one of your best options on Coronado. Went with my kids who loved the huge pancakes, soft french toast, and crispy fries. I had the BLT-A, tried some of my dads fish tacos and my wife’s chorizo burrito, and look forward to going back for it all again sometime soon.“

“We came in from las vegas and decided to try THE BALBOA SOUTH after hearing good things. We were not disappointed. The overall environment was clean, up beat, and family oriented. The centennial burger was massive and cooked medium the way I like it. The garlic fries, and salt and pepper fries were on point. The dark horse stout awesome!. Okay in done. Definitely will be going back before our trip is done.“

“I've been on a burger kick so my husband has been taking me to all his favorite places. I ordered the balboa burger and it was delicious ! Along with the fries , I really enjoyed the aioli sauce. “An awesome little gem nestled away at the One America Plaza trolley stop! The service was warm, friendly and upbeat. I felt so welcome. And the taco trio was outstanding -- I couldn't finish it (the little side of tortilla chips and salsa were delicious, too! I added avocado and it elevated already perfect tacos. “Had a great experience for my first time. The man (didn't catch his name but he was wearing glasses) who helped was super nice and didn't make you feel dumb when you mentioned you didn't know what you liked or when you would say you didn't normally drink beer. He was able to find all of us something we loved whether it was beer, cider, kombucha, or seltzers. Loved the music and how chill it is. Definitely will be back!“

“A place to get burgers & bait and beer while you're fishing. Although technically, you don't have to be fishing to eat here. If you're walking by or you're in the area and it's a nice day, it's a nice place to just grab a little bite to eat, especially on a nice day.The prices are a tad high but let's just say having a burger in the sunshine is totally worth it.Parking: Plenty of free parking. It's at a park right next to a large music venue and when there's no music, there's plenty of parking.“

“Order your Monday special Brooklyn Pizza, 10 wings and three garlic knots. For 29.99. The pizza was pretty close to New York. I say acceptable. The wings were spicy hot and the garlic knots were exceptional. My suggestion would be have the wings sauce on the side. Would I go there again most definitely“

“Great spot in Chula!!! Drop by to see their beer menu which does not disappoint, with lots of IPA and Hazys to pick from. They also have a pretty good michelada mix if you're in the mood for one. Plenty of high stools seating inside, with a couple of tables. Service is always great as well!!“

“I know people have said it before, but the location of the Beach & Taco Shack is fantastic. The ocean, live music, cocktails and taco, what's not to love?! We got the Beef Barbacoa Taco and Surf & Birria Taco and damn they were good. Two of us got the sunset beach and neither of us were fans. The whiskey point and peachy bottom were very tasty. The guys mixing and taking orders were super friendly and very welcoming.“

Our drinks came out shortly and were so colorful and refreshing! He got the Serrano cucumber margarita and I got the oaky hibiscus sour. The queso fundido was nice and cheesy! The tuna tartare was beautiful as well as light and citrusy. The mole plate was a little burnt though. For dessert, we ordered flan and it had a nice and thick texture. They forgot to bring our esquites, but brought it out after we got dessert LOL.It was a great appetizer!
