“It has been a minute since I've been to the Renaissance Esmeralda here in Indian Wells. I'm not a big fan of the colossal golf/spa/resort complex of which this is a good example, but Goldenvoice puts people here for Coachella and Stage Coach so I've stayed here a couple times. This lobby espresso bar is new from last time, a welcome addition because I also got a room service breakfast from here (50) and it was capital P pathetic, so just send someone down here and get a coffee and whatever from this place and save yourself 40 dollars.Also this is one of those locations where leaving to go to Starbucks is a major production so having something serviceable in the lobby is great.“

“One of my absolute favorite nighttime holiday treats! 🍨 The gelato here is top quality with a premium taste. What makes it even better is the wide variety of options vegan, nut-free, dairy-free, and gluten-free …which is a lifesaver if you have food sensitivities like I do.

They rotate flavors weekly, so there’s always something new to try (I’ve sampled at least 12 so far!). My personal favorites are the boysenberry and the cookies-and-cream both are amazing. If you call during the day, you can even make special requests when it’s not too busy, which is such a nice touch.

I also used them for catering with their ice cream cart at an event, and it was a huge hit. Hands down, the best local ice cream spot in the valley!“

We wanted to try a Coachella Valley favorite- the date shake.
We came across Lappert’s and decided to give them a try.
The store has a fun vibe to it. The gentleman working was very friendly and helpful. It looks like they have a very broad and creative menu, and can make just about anything that one could imagine. My husband ordered the date shake and I opted for the small cup with 2 generous scoops.
The standard cookies and cream was probably the best version I have ever had. It appears as they make all of their ice cream themselves.
For my other scoop I tried the Navels and ganach. What I really liked was that it was an orange ice cream and not a sorbet.
It tasted like one of the boxed chocolate flavors.
I would say the real winner here was the date shake. It has a very unique flavor, but not too strong. They used date ice cream and vanilla ice cream.
I would definitely recommend Lappert’s!!“

“I work as a nanny for two girls 7 and 10 and they love to go get their vanilla ice cream there. Of course the 7-year-old wants sprinkles. Please don't hesitate to go here. “FABULOUS DONUTS! In a world where doughnuts can start to taste the same, this spot truly stands out. I get maple bars everywhere I go and this taste is so unique, I was surprised! It tastes like a stack of the best pancakes and syrup you've ever had. The apple fritter?! WHOA!!! Wish I bought two but it was huge, still....just the perfect crunch on the outside and pillow soft on the inside. We tried the glazed blueberry donuts and adored it. It was very well made, and full of berry flavor. We had a surprise in our bag, 5 delicious cinnamon tinged glazed donut holes that made the perfect road snack home.

The service here is so warm and friendly, it feels like you've been going there your whole life even though we were first timers. They have ramen, sandwiches, snacks, smoothies, beverages, something for everyone. There are a few tables to sit but most people got stuff to go.

Can't wait to come back when we're visiting Grandma again.

“I grew up on E pels, they would come to my middle and high schools, the firework shows, swap meets, you name it! E pel was and is a huge part of my childhood. I left the desert 10 years ago and find myself still regularly thinking about these today. I’ve never found anything that comes close to my beloved drinks, and they will be the first thing I search out when I come back for a visit. Give them a try, you don’t forget it, in my opinion they are a desert staple not to be missed.“

“Stopped at Shields today. We had breakfast, followed by a walk around the gardens. So many trees had fruit on them, just going to waste. Signs all over saying "don't pick the fruit." Instead of letting the fruit rot on the trees, why not pick the fruit to sell or even donate to a food pantry? I was saddened seeing all the fruit going to waste.“

“The workers were so kind and they were quick and fast to offer help. They offered me a cupholder without having me ask them and they gave me excellent raspados. Next time I'm definitely going to try their elote too! They also sell all sorts of items even for people who are a little hungover. They had workers speaking both Spanish and English, which is extremely helpful seeing as they sell more Hispanic based foods.
