“It has been a minute since I've been to the Renaissance Esmeralda here in Indian Wells. I'm not a big fan of the colossal golf/spa/resort complex of which this is a good example, but Goldenvoice puts people here for Coachella and Stage Coach so I've stayed here a couple times. This lobby espresso bar is new from last time, a welcome addition because I also got a room service breakfast from here (50) and it was capital P pathetic, so just send someone down here and get a coffee and whatever from this place and save yourself 40 dollars.Also this is one of those locations where leaving to go to Starbucks is a major production so having something serviceable in the lobby is great.“

“Don’t think… just get in your car and go get Gelato from here. SERIOUSLY the best gelato and such sweet owners. You walk by the shop and immediately smell the sweet waffle cones, which are to die for. They have amazing new flavors all the time. Our families favorites are cookie dough, hazelnut, Nutella cookie, pistachio (when available) and matcha-to name a few. But honestly, we have not tried one we didn’t love! Go support local… support good quality and even better customer service!“

We wanted to try a Coachella Valley favorite- the date shake.
We came across Lappert’s and decided to give them a try.
The store has a fun vibe to it. The gentleman working was very friendly and helpful. It looks like they have a very broad and creative menu, and can make just about anything that one could imagine. My husband ordered the date shake and I opted for the small cup with 2 generous scoops.
The standard cookies and cream was probably the best version I have ever had. It appears as they make all of their ice cream themselves.
For my other scoop I tried the Navels and ganach. What I really liked was that it was an orange ice cream and not a sorbet.
It tasted like one of the boxed chocolate flavors.
I would say the real winner here was the date shake. It has a very unique flavor, but not too strong. They used date ice cream and vanilla ice cream.
I would definitely recommend Lappert’s!!“

You can get waffle cone, you can get chocolate covered bananas here as well as some other novelty treats. The ice cream flavors were the classic ones and tasted fresh and delicious. “I grew up on E pels, they would come to my middle and high schools, the firework shows, swap meets, you name it! E pel was and is a huge part of my childhood. I left the desert 10 years ago and find myself still regularly thinking about these today. I’ve never found anything that comes close to my beloved drinks, and they will be the first thing I search out when I come back for a visit. Give them a try, you don’t forget it, in my opinion they are a desert staple not to be missed.“

“Stopped at Shields today. We had breakfast, followed by a walk around the gardens. So many trees had fruit on them, just going to waste. Signs all over saying "don't pick the fruit." Instead of letting the fruit rot on the trees, why not pick the fruit to sell or even donate to a food pantry? I was saddened seeing all the fruit going to waste.“

“The workers were so kind and they were quick and fast to offer help. They offered me a cupholder without having me ask them and they gave me excellent raspados. Next time I'm definitely going to try their elote too! They also sell all sorts of items even for people who are a little hungover. They had workers speaking both Spanish and English, which is extremely helpful seeing as they sell more Hispanic based foods. I definitely will be returning and will be returning again with some friends.“

There ingredients are excellent and they have many options to choose from. I will definitely come back often. “Yum, yum, yum. Very nice place with great flavors. I can really recommend mango, chocolate and salted caramel pretzel. Large menu with toppings and good stuff.Place is extremely clean and neat. No background music (but tv was on in the kids corner) so it feels a bit "empty".But over all a great place and we are definitely coming back.“
