“We went to the Newport Beach location a couple of weeks ago. This was my first time ordering an acai bowl. The staff was very helpful and patient when I was building my bowl. Overall, from the time we walked in to the time we left, the staff was extremely friendly and nice.“

Upon walking in, I was greeted by the server and seated promptly. The restaurant was clean and had a nice ambiance with traditional Ethiopian items displayed and Ethiopian music videos playing on a tv. The restaurant was easy to find and located right off a Main Street with plenty of parking.

I ordered the awaze tibse with a side salad. Craving satisfied! The food was delicious and fresh. The portions were perfect.

“I haven’t been here for a while and had a craving for the Chilaquiles. I knew they added a new Mole salsa so I called to order that to go. I was told they also have a chipotle sauce, so I went with that instead. When I got home, OH MY GOSH!! Those were the best chilaquiles I’ve ever had with the Chipotle sauce. They were so good I’m embarrassed to say I lick the plate clean🥴. And of course the churros were amazing as usual.“

“Yesterday, I discovered a hidden treasure in San Dimas - Sweet Savory Cafe. This cafe is known for its delicious cookies that sell out quickly. They offer a variety of international flavors, including Cuban sandwiches, salads, soups, freshly made bread, empanadas, and other bakery items. Some items are not listed on the menu, so you can ask for the Chef's Daily Special. I always look for clean and relaxing cafes where my family can eat, or I can simply sit and enjoy a book. My experience at Sweet Savory Cafe surpassed my experiences at other cafes in Pasadena, Claremont, and Upland. I arrived early and enjoyed warm cookies and bread, which were absolutely delicious. I ordered various items including coffee, soup, breakfast, and bakery items. Despite not being a coffee drinker, I found the coffee to be delicious and memorable. I also tried their Healthy Breakfast Burrito with added bacon, which was customizable and very filling. The Lentil soup had an amazing aroma and taste. I can't believe I didn't know about this cafe before, especially since I work in the city! For those new to the cafe, you can order through Uber Eats, Grubhub, Postmates, and DoorDash. If you have a large party, they can accommodate you by pushing tables together. The atmosphere is peaceful, making it a wonderful place to read a book or enjoy a meal with family. They also offer freshly made orange juice, and all their sandwiches are made with their own bread. I tried a new flavor of Sweet & Savory bread and found it to be very delicious. I added cream cheese to it yesterday and tried it with butter today. This is definitely my new go-to place for food. I appreciate the cleanliness of the cafe and the fact that it's open early on for breakfast including Saturday and Sunday. I was even able to order all these items on a Saturday at 7AM. “Thai Thyme is cozy Thai restaurant that specialize in authentic Thailand cuisine. It’s located in Monrovia. They have vast selection of food and drinks at a reasonable price. Interior looks charming with high ceiling and exposed brick. Atmosphere was relaxing.

We have walked passed by Thai Thyme for years but never hand a chance to check-in until tonight. Because it tends to be packed due to its popularity. Anyway, after we perused their menu; I ordered a Chicken Pad Won Sen, Spring Rolls, iced tea and water. The noodle was tasty, moist and flavorful albeit a bit salty. Similarly, spring rolls were delightful. Drinks were good.

Staff were very attentive, engaging and respectful. Prices were fair and competitive. Atmosphere was relaxing and has a good vibe. Overall, it’s a nice Thai spot in my favorite town of Monrovia. I recommend you visit.“

“Love this sukiyuki restaurant! We get the standard vision, and it's very good! The meat quality is excellent, and melts in my mouth. The sushi is fresh, and I like their tuna sashimi as well. Curry is pretty good. Their milk tea is pretty good quality, and I recommend you try it. I definitely will come back to try better vision here. I recommend people come here early so parking and waiting time would be less, and make sure to eat wagyu as much as possible if you are hungry.“

They take pride in their presentation and they don’t have to do this, but they also included a lot of little extra items that compliment your meal. Like many have said, there’s a little bit of a wait but our teriyaki chicken was made fresh to order and worth it. BTW, this California Roll Plate with Teriyaki Chicken has another layer of rolls underneath, so 10 rolls total. With rising prices, it’s so nice to find a place that serves a great meal with super nice staff for under $11.“

Great non-Mexico tacos! But so good. Crispy! Their burritos are fried so a little different. These old-school taco places are nostalgic and need to stay around. Service is always fast and friendly with reasonable prices. They make their own hot sauce, so it's pretty good. Go if not just for nostalgia.“

“I like this place. $13.99 per pound of food. You get to choose all your toppings. I recommend going heavy on the meats and light on the carbohydrates. That’ll be the best bang for the buck. They also have frog meat if that’s your lingo. I tried their beef bone broth and I like it a lot. I’d come back again.

Just a heads up. If you can’t eat mild this place won’t be for you. They can’t alter the broth. The only option is the tomato broth which is no spicy.“

“I saw the review from Lan Hoàng, and I have to speak up—because I was there that day, having lunch with my mom. And frankly, her version of the story is completely misleading.

She made a scene over the rice paper—complaining that 8 pieces for $2 was “too expensive” and demanding 12 pieces for $3. The prices were clearly printed on the menu. Then she loudly announced she could buy rice paper cheaper at the supermarket and bring it in herself. Seriously? That’s not how restaurants work.

Her voice was so loud that everyone nearby could hear her ranting, ruining the dining experience for others. The manager, to his credit, remained calm, professional, and stood his ground. He told her—rightfully so—that the price is $2 for 8 pieces, no exceptions.

Then she goes online and has the nerve to say the manager “lacks manners”? That’s laughable. If anyone was disrespectful, it was her. She should take a long, hard look in the mirror before she dares to judge someone else.

If I were the manager, I wouldn’t serve her again. Period. People like that come in with entitlement, create drama over one dollar, and then try to trash hardworking staff online when they don’t get their way. It’s not okay.

I will say this—the Bánh xèo was absolutely delicious. And that’s the only thing she got right.“
