This time, I decided to stay a few days at the new Home collection lodging and the getaway was completely remarkable. “My husband and I had dinner here last night, and it was easily the best meal of our trip.

We were able to make a reservation the same day. They were running a little behind when we arrived, but it was no issue for us and absolutely worth the wait. The host walked us over to the lounge bar, where we enjoyed drinks while waiting for our table. I ordered the Spiced Merchant, which was excellent — I would definitely recommend it if you enjoy rum.

The food is priced on the higher end, but the quality, flavor, and portion sizes make it well worth it. My husband started with the Gem Caesar salad, and I had the beet carpaccio, which was incredible (and a must if you love beets). We also added a bread basket, which was a great addition.

For our mains, my husband ordered the pork chop with mushroom bread pudding. He really enjoyed it, and the bite I tried was delicious. I ordered the ribeye. It doesn’t come with a traditional side, but we shared the sautéed mushrooms, which paired perfectly. My steak was cooked exactly right, and the chimichurri was outstanding.

We finished with the crème brûlée special for dessert, which was fabulous and a perfect ending to the meal.

Overall, the service was great and the food was even better. It’s definitely a splurge, but worth every penny. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend making a reservation and dining here.

The only downside is parking if you’re not staying at the hotel (we weren’t). I suggest arriving a little early to allow time to find a spot.“

“My friend and I shared a wine tasting which consisted of three small glasses of tasting size. You get to pick the three wines that you want. Not a huge selection., but works. We decided to eat there and I got the crabcakes which were pretty tasty a spicy sauce on top, and there were bell peppers and with the crabcakes. My friend got salmon with the skin was very crispy which he likes but the inside was too rare and he had to ask them to cook it more. It came back, still a bit too rare, and we fed that to the seagulls….The couscous salad that came with it was the best thing of all. I would not run back there but if you’re hungry and in that exact area, it’s a convenient place to grab a bite to eat. They have a couple of different patios outside, and the staff was very friendly. The one remark my friend said was that if they’re going to leave the salmon that raw like they said they usually do, they should ask people how they like it cooked. He loves sushi, but it was too rare for him being that it was salmon. It was a great day to get away from the high heat of Sonoma. We went from the 90s to the 60s wearing a jacket. He had never gone by the school house from Alford Hitchcock The Birds, so we did that on the way out.“

“I had my intimate wedding dinner catered onsite at Ginochio's on 10/10. From the early planning conversations with Patty, to her family's kindness and accommodation on what turned out to be a rainy day (Patty and Alicia put out prayers to the rain gods that it would stop for us!), to the INCREDIBLE food AND service, we fell in love with the Ginochio family. Patty and her family were so gracious with our party, as they are with the local community (if you know, you know!). Everyone in our party RAVED about the food and the service. “This place is outstanding! I had the Mexican mocha. It was so creamy and delicious. I’m literally asking myself why I go to SBUX. I had the big breakfast burrito. Was enough for me and my daughter. I love that they grill the burrito. Reminds me of home. (Texas) We had black iced coffee. Very good flavor. Hot chocolate was so good too. My husband had the 2 sunny side up eggs on sourdough. Our first waiter was Ben and oh how we loved him so we always asked for him when we would go in. Sadly, Ben moved out of the area but then we got Danny! Another fantastic server and now we always ask for her! Can't vouch for the other servers but my guess would be that they are all good! Susie is the owner, and she is wonderful! She always mingles with her guests and even gets many of them up dancing! I hope she knows how much her regulars appreciate her! I'm so glad we found this place because we do not live out there. “Great local hangout with outdoor seating on the River!. This is a must stop for those hot days on the Russian River. It was 93 today, but the shade with a river breeze was comfortable on the deck. They have a good selection of house brews with daily specials and a few mixed cocktails. Bar food is available, it's the normal fair. Great quality, you won't be disappointed.“
