Someone said this was better than sequoia burger and right down the road however I’d rate this burger a 4 compared to the full 5 star sequoia burger in comparison“

I ordered three street tacos—chorizo, chicken, and steak—and that steak taco? Buddy… it tasted like someone grilled the most excellent steak known to mankind, whispered words of encouragement to it, motivated it to reach its full potential, then sliced it into bite-size greatness. The salsa inside? So good I considered taking it home and introducing it to my family. My son ordered the happy hour cheese quesadilla, which came out perfectly toasted—crispy golden edges, soft cheesy center. Basically a work of art Picasso wishes he painted. Then we shared the habanero wings, which came with a medley of tomatoes and sliced cucumbers so fancy it felt like they were auditioning for a cooking show. The dressing? Absolutely delicious. “I went to Acorn Cafe expecting a nice, responsible lunch. I left in a food coma, questioning every healthy choice I’ve ever made, and honestly? Zero regrets.
The place has serious range — breakfast, brunch, lunch, indoor seating, outdoor seating with an actual fireplace (fancy), and a friendly & professional staff.
I ordered the fried chicken sandwich against my better judgment — I usually treat deep-fried anything like a suspicious email attachment — and it was a full personality shift. Absolutely delicious. It came with homemade togarashi potato chips, which is not a combination I asked for but is one I will now demand for the rest of my life.
My dining companion got the breakfast burger, which somehow contains an egg AND hash browns INSIDE the burger, like the chef looked at breakfast and lunch and said “why not both, simultaneously, in your hand.” Perfection. Structurally impressive. Emotionally overwhelming.
The turkey clubhouse club also showed up and showed out — and bonus, some proceeds go to the local Boys & Girls Club, so you can feel slightly virtuous while inhaling bacon.

Verdict: We’re going back. We have breakfast entrees left to conquer, and frankly, I think Acorn Cafe has earned the right to ruin more of my meals.“

“I had a meal tonight at Louie’s Fine Foods and experienced an amazing Pork chop. Bruno’s flavorful marinate and the cooking expertise of Sam and Santos made it a meal to remember. “My husband and I (30yo) spent our anniversary weekend here. Our goal was to be close to nature with a nice clean room to sleep in. The room was clean. The outdoor garden / terrace was serene and amazing. Access to kayaking and the forest was a huge plus. Property is kept with the understanding the manor is older and beneath trees so there will be leaves / dust. Staff were very pleasant. Drinks were great. Lobby decor and food were ok. Americana has real food. Not from a far long chain supply coming from all over the world, but from here in their county. Locally sourced, no seed oils, no poisons. Just regular normal and real food. Eat with ease and confidence knowing that your food will be nutritious, filling and tasty wonderful.

Other places (even Salt n Straw), make it too creamy and sugary. You really don’t get better ice cream than Nimble and Finn’s. I had the vanilla, coffee single scoop split. Our first waiter was Ben and oh how we loved him so we always asked for him when we would go in. Sadly, Ben moved out of the area but then we got Danny! Another fantastic server and now we always ask for her! Can't vouch for the other servers but my guess would be that they are all good! Susie is the owner, and she is wonderful! She always mingles with her guests and even gets many of them up dancing! I hope she knows how much her regulars appreciate her! I'm so glad we found this place because we do not live out there. “I’ve been coming here for over a decade (though only in fits and starts). Every time, I am very happy. I sit on the deck looking over the river, order a drink and a meal, and chat with friends and locals. I leave satisfied.

The staff? Good at what they do and occasionally exceptional at banter. The food? Average to outstanding. The menu has changed over the years. But it hasn’t gotten worse. If anything, it is what you would expect from bar food in this area and priced fairly. The wait time? Not sure why people are harping on this. Do you have a prior engagement at the opera? The beers? They are fine. The mixed drinks? They are also fine. The atmosphere? Unforced local/townie (and I don’t mean that as a slur). Sure, there are some ‘interesting’ people hanging out. But what do I care? I am a guest. Don’t poke the bear and don’t get the reaction. Poke the bear? Be prepared to engage with ‘interesting’ people who live here. Seems like common sense.

This last visit, I was with a group of nearly a dozen people. Some had been here before. Some hadn’t. Everyone had a great time. That is what a place like this, in a place like this, should do. Support locals. Get out-of-towners to spend their money and leave happy.
