“This place is very close to achieving what it's setting out to do: provide an elegant vegetarian dining experience. I think that might be hard to pull off in a strip mall however. The food and the art are fantastic but the interior design was poorly executed and comes off looking a little cheap. I went for my birthday but for the price this might have been a one time experience. Updated from previous review on 2024-04-06“

“We've been here for dinner and brunch. One word: Exceptional in every way: Fantastic setting. Great service. Incredible menu and delicious food. Lovely Hwood views. Perfect ambiance, design and decor. Gorgeous decks, landscaping and rooftop lounge areas, restaurant and bar. Lemon Grove is one of my favorite places in all of LA. Just go. Grab a weekend brunch, go for dinner or just for a rooftop bar lounge and and drink. (Unlike some other roof top bars/restaurants in LA, this one has zero attitude - from either the staff and crowd. Just friendly, chill and pleasant. A+“

“I really enjoyed this place. I was looking for a spot to work on my wedding planning and a lot of cafes were closed (since it was 4pm) and had this place pinned. Parking is.... Minimal. It was quite full for an early Tuesday. The wine bar is fantastic. Menu is cute, happy hour has fun selections and the music was top notch.“

“I go to this place a lot and it NEVER misses. The food is incredible and I can’t find a word to describe how kind the staff is. I once saw the owner bring a local homeless woman food and call her by her first name. Absolutely incredible people.“

“I made a Resy reservation to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Street parking was accessible and convenient a few steps away from the location. Once we walked in, I was greeted by first name by the host behind the bar who directed us to follow Lisa, our server, to our table for two in the garden patio. Once seated, she asked if we'd like to turn on the heated lamp, which we appreciated. We ordered the Hunan BBQ Pork Ribs (so meaty and smoky), Chilled Sesame Peanut Noodles (which my wife commented would be an ideal dish during a warm summer night), Lemongrass Chicken Banh Mi (served on a toasted, pillowy brioche bun), paired with a side of the Shoestring Fries. Lastly we enjoyed an unexpected gift from the kitchen - Shanghai Triple Onion Noodles, which was a warm dish in contrast to the other cold noodles. As a thoughtful gesture, the bartender, offered us two glasses of champagne to acknowledge our occasion. To cap off our unforgettable meal, we ordered the Hochija Tres Leches and Honeymoon Bread Pudding. The perfect conclusion to a delicious and well-thought out dinner. For a location with a history dating back to the prohibition era (informed by Lisa), I'm glad to see it's continuing it's life as a bar with an innovative kitchen. As I mentioned last night, the dinner was great but the service was even better! Thank you for making our anniversary dinner memorable :)“

“I’ve visited the WeHo location but tried the Silverlake one and was NOT disappointed. The Cacio e Pepe pizza is one of the best pizzas I’ve had in my life. (Although, I have not been to Italy)I think about that Parmesan creama often lol.But I literally drove an hour to have this pizza. The server was attentive, gave thoughtful (and delicious) recommendations, and made for a great experience.Note: Parking sucks - but where does it not in LA? I found a spot on the street but there is also metered parking as well.TL;DR - Exceptional pizza and good service. True S tier pizza.“

“Nossa Caipirinha Bar offers an authentic Brazilian experience right in the heart of Los Feliz. My partner and I recently indulged in a late-night adventure at this vibrant establishment, and we were thoroughly impressed. From the moment we entered, we were greeted by the lively beats of Brazilian music, instantly transporting us to the streets of Rio. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with warm décor adding to the immersive experience. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the cocktails. Each drink was meticulously crafted with quality ingredients, perfectly capturing the essence of Brazilian flavors. Whether it was the classic caipirinha or one of their signature creations, every sip was a delight for the senses. As the night progressed, the bartender recommended we try Brazilian fernet, and we're glad we did. It was a bold and flavorful choice that left a lasting impression, showcasing the bar's dedication to offering unique and authentic experiences.Overall, Nossa Caipirinha Bar exceeded our expectations, delivering not only exceptional drinks but also a memorable cultural journey. Whether you're a connoisseur of Brazilian cuisine or simply looking for a lively atmosphere to unwind, Nossa Caipirinha Bar is a must-visit destination. Obrigado for an unforgettable evening!“

“Had to stop by my favorite Italian grubbin in the heart of Old Town Pasadena all the way from Boise. This was my 3rd time and each time just keeps getting better; definitely the bigger the party, the better. We paid $225 for 4 pasta entrees, 3 appetizers, & 2 glasses of wine for a party of 6. I’ve learned to like my pastas al dente after having them here. The meatballs are banging, the wine-pairing was delightful. Our service was attentive and pleasant; the vibe is always vibrant and homey. Highly recommended.“

“Had a good stop-in at Covell with friends. We found an open table and enjoyed the ordering process - the bartenders are so kind and happy to allow you to taste the different wines. I ended up rocking their IPA on tap (Almanac brewing from Alameda) but they had a vast selection of wines + craft beers in cans as well.Good vibes, good lighting, soft music, perfect for a chill evening with friends!Vegetarian options: Most options“

“Amazing food, ambiance, wine, and staff! Tucked away on Holly St., a few blocks over from Colorado. Old town local vibe. Super chill. I've been trying new restaurants in the area and decided to pop in early on a Fri nite. Got a seat at the counter overlooking the chef preparing all the meals. Ordered a rose, very tasty. Short ribs with mash potatoes. Amazing! I will definitely be back to try more things. Highly recommend. We really don't have anything like this in Pasadena.“

“First time visiting here. My family and I loved the atmosphere, the food, wine, and drinks. I definitely recommend this place. It transport you to a different environment. The area seems sketchy, but once you're inside, you forget about where this place is located. Exceptional customer service. Bernardo, my waiter was excellent.“

“This is an absolutely wonderful place…warm, inviting and friendly! I have been on several occasions and each time the food has been delicious and the service was always promo and attentive! But for me, the most important part of my experience was the people. The staff truly makes this a great place to be.“

“One of the few remaining unpretentious places to grab a drink in the area. I also enjoyed the music from vinyl.I’ve been to Covell and Lola’s and they are so boring and stuffy, and obviously have a “target audience” which is just not my thing.“

“How could I forget about this beautiful restaurant for months since my first visit with girl friends last September? I am so glad I suddenly remember this restaurant last Saturday, the first day of the Chinese new year! The interior decoration is perfect for Chinese new year! This is My family's first time visit! They all love it! Perfect for pictures! It is a shame for not many people knowing this place, because they are only two tables occupied during our 1.5 hour visit. The only waitress is Miss Iris from Taipei. She is super nice and friendly! Fortunately, when we left, there were two parties coming in! We love the food maybe because the owner and the chef are from my hometown Taiwan, according to the waitress! The presentation is so beautiful! Perfect for my Facebook postings! I already told my college girlfriends about our next reunion location! Here! Perfect for our group pictures!“

“Last night's dinner at Osteria Mozza was an absolute delight! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere enveloped us in a warm, inviting embrace. The interior struck a perfect balance between elegance and comfort, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience. The food was nothing short of spectacular. Standouts included the burrata with peas and speck, the endive and fennel salad, and the papardelle was a revelation in texture and taste. Also remarkable was Alyssa, our waitress. Her knowledge, enthusiasm, and impeccable timing made our meal flow seamlessly. She recommended the perfect dishes and was attentive without being intrusive. Alyssa’s warm personality and professional demeanor greatly enhanced our evening.Osteria Mozza is a gem that I can’t recommend enough. The combination of delicious, well-crafted food, a charming atmosphere, and stellar service made our visit truly unforgettable. If you’re looking for a dining experience that will impress on all levels, Osteria Mozza is the place to go.“

“Fabulous place. we really loved the service, the atmosphere, and the food. Everyone's food was delicious, especially the brussels sprouts!. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is that my chopped salad sounded much more exciting on paper than the actual product. It was basic and disappointing so I will order something else next time. However, appetizers and other entrees were delicious.“

“This was a great evening of dinning from beginning to end! Like many LA facades, this one seems unassuming from its exterior but as soon as you enter the black iron gated door and into the restaurant you are greeted by an ambiance so inviting! There’s a bar/lounge off to the right (which I have to check out next time), adorned with intimate seating, plush couches, and a centralized bar in the space. We sat outside on the patio and had such excellent service from Mandy! The wines were delicious (had the sparkling and chilled red), butter and bread to start as well as the caesar salad and tuna tartar. Then for our mains we enjoyed the rigatoni and the spring lasagna. Omg, wow!! It did not disappoint. The coursing was done to perfection and we were very pleased with everything!!After dinner, my date went to the restroom and I had an impromptu conversation with the owner, Laurie, who was very personable. We will definitely be back again, and again!“

“Truly yummy home style New Southern cooking. I had the seasonal ramps and beet salad, the pork chop and the biscuit. Would recommend all. Well seasoned and prepared - nothing over done or precious but still beautifully plated. I enjoyed my first fermented gin drink as well. Was thrilled to not have just deep fried everything but lovely Southern flavors.“

“Definitely need to come back to this bar - they had a cool vibe, a great selection of beers on tap, and a big backyard with tons of tables. We each wanted several different beers they had available. We had a rainbow sherbet sour - one of the best sours I've had in a while - and a hazy IPA (MadeWest) that he also said was the best he'd had in a while. We liked them and the vibe so much we stayed for a second.“

“Cordova Cafe & Bottleshop isn't called Cheers, but it certainly could be - the "neighborhood hangout" vibe here is amazing! The food is great and there are excellent choices in beer and wine, but what sets this place apart are the people. You could look long and hard without finding a more welcoming establishment!“

“Republik Coffee is as solid as it gets. It has good food, good coffee, and a good ambiance, which makes it a great hang out spot. The breakfast burrito, an almond danish, and a hazelnut cappuccino. “Definitely stop by this bar on your next bowl visit. Recommend reservations ahead of time, but we arrived without one and were seated before we finished our drink at the bar. Bar Manager Leanne Szymczak is awesome and made sure everyone was taken care of! Bar staff and servers are amazing! Pouring drinks and getting your food brought out quickly. Enjoy this spot before the show gets going. Cheers everyone!“

“I love this place. I’m so happy it’s nearby. The wine selection is great and the service is excellent. You can taste a few options, there’s no judgement from the staff if you don’t like something, the food is always decent and sometimes delicious, it’s kind of dark, you can go and get a seat easily, and it’s comfortable. “So, I was not expecting to have a beer while perusing a nee bookstore this weekend, but lo and behold! I desperately needed to charge my dying phone, and couldn’t find an outlet anywhere in the book aisles. So I stumbled across The 1894, and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. Their happy hour is awesome- a french pilsner for only $6! And the staff went out of their way to accommodate me near an outlet where i can drink and charge my phone. Again, was not expecting this pleasant bar, but will def be back!“

“Update, two weeks later: So after a slightly rocky start, we went again - the food and wine were excellent as before, but the service really really improved since the last time. I can highly recommend this place to go for a good time. If you are with friends, make sure you try "family style" - order loads of munchies - the four of us shared the charcuterie board (the salami was among the best I ever had), the flatbreads, the baked brie - and a sample plate of their delicious oils - so so so good - and given the superb quality, reasonably priced. Not to forget: did you ever try vanilla ice cream with olive oil - you should ;-) So thankful they understood and appreciated my earlier review. I will surely go again soon. Previous review: Oh, what a wonderful place - and an amazing concept. My wife and I took two friends yesterday. We were seated at a table for two, with the promise to be relocated to the table next to us as patrons were close to getting their check. Never happened, no problem.I wanted to order a bottle of wine. The service recommended tasting their canned wines - 4 different ones for $49. Canned wine? I come from Germany, from Koblenz, where the rivers Rhine and Mosel meet. Canned wine? Seriously? Still, why not try something new?So the four of us received four balloon glasses with the four wines. Wine tasting? Share every glass physically with four people in times of Corona? They must be kidding. I would have expected to get four cans - and, in all honesty, four small glasses for each of us. Sure: it ain't the Ritz - a personal glass for each of us. But sure: this ain't "The Ritz," so we shared. We are really good friends, and we did have a good time. The wine was OK - which sounds as if something was wrong - it wasn't. It was OK - nice experience, but I would personally not order again - while it may be perfectly fine for you, the reader (by the way, I appreciate you reading this ;-)Then: the food. As with the wine, we wanted to share. We started with the baked brie, which was really really good, and the burrata flatbread, which came soaked, and I really mean soaked, in Oil. Sadly, it did not come with silverware. We asked three times but never got it. Then, we asked if we could have at least some napkins. We got two. We were here to share, weren't we ;-)I asked for the check. The printer had issues. Happens. We were not in a rush. Service offered a sip of wine while we had to wait. Sure, a nice gesture. Sadly, the wine never came. After just under half an hour, we got some sort of check - still issues with the printer. We were charged $61 for the wines - they were charged separately and not, as per the menu and recommendation, as the $49 offer. $12 was refunded. Receipt: sorry, the printer.I really wanted to love the place, and as we enjoyed the company of our dear friends in a nice atmosphere, loved the brie, and drank the wine, I did not want to spoil the evening by arguing about the service, which really "has potential."It would have been easy to make this a five-star recommendation, as the location, atmosphere and general concept scream fabulous. I would possibly go again. At the moment, I feel sorry for the place.“

“Do I really need to review a renowned restaurant like Fleming's? No ? Well I'm going to do it anyway! From a regular meat eater, I was able to enjoy the best piece of meat of my life at this restaurant! And I weigh my words, this filet mignon was absolutely succulent, perfectly cooked and gave me many sensations in my mouth. The sides were just as perfect, I can't find a single fault with the cuisine that I was able to taste. The service is very pleasant and has an eye for detail and satisfaction, without overdoing it (no hunting for tips), many dishes offered by the house for a quarter of an hour late on our reservation, and always a smile and a little joke to keep the table in a good mood.Thank you for this excellent experience, I will keep excellent memories of it.“

“Our 4th time dinning here. Once again a great experience. Dinning room is lovely. This time we ate in the back room. Moroccan feel. Server was friendly, attentive, made good suggestions for veggie options. Food was fabulous. It was our anniversary (which I mentioned in the OpenTable res) and they gave us a sparkling wine starter and a desert, on the house. My wife had another glass of sparkling wine and we had the scallops, BBQ carrots, Asparagus with burrata. She had the salmon and I had the duck pappardelle. Check was $170.00 including a 4% "Staff Health" charge, which was noted that it could be removed, which we didn't.“

“We love the ambience at gra. And I’m so happy to see more restaurants coming into the many vacant storefronts in this neighborhood. Gra has an incredible vibe. Wonderful service and unbelievably great music. We do wish for two things though. We love traditional full-bodied reds by the glass. They are hard to come by. We also love fresh vegetables, and as much as we love the fermented veggies we’d love to mix it up with more variety. Looking forward to becoming loyal, patrons and exploring this restaurant more.“

“Eclectic but elegant setting with an excellent curated wine offering and one of the finest reserve lists anywhere. The charcuterie sections are also first class. A stylish and sophisticated night out.“
“I see many mixed reviews here. Yes, drinks are on the higher end of price, but ultimately, what counts is the experience. Do not be hesitant to try this place. This is my 3rd time coming here, and Chris and Matt both have always been attentive. The drinks are amazing. Seriously. I'm a beer drinker turned cocktail drinker because of this place. It really can't get any better. The taste of the cocktails is beyond belief. And watching them shake it up is, in and of itself, great to watch. This bar beats 33 Taps and Black Cat around the block. Trust me“
“Service 4.5/5 Atmosphere 4.5/5 Overall 5/5 Homage Brewing is an excellent brewery to meet with your friends! They have both great beer and a solid natural wine selection. In comparison to other breweries in the surrounding area there is actually fantastic food served in-house. A lot of the breweries in the Chinatown and Arts District area do not have in-house food menu, and if they do the food is somewhat mediocre. But at Homage the drinks and food are delicious! On weekdays, Homage isn't as busy and is a great date night spot! The food comes out quick and the lines for drinks are much shorter. Definitely recommend date night at Homage!“

“Excellent natural wine. The bartenders could be friendlier to those who are not familiar with natural wine though; I witnessed them not be too patient with someone older who didn't realize the whole bar is natural.
