“My family and I frequent a lot of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurants, whether it's a sit down restaurant or takeout--and Sahara might just be the best we've ever had!

We heard good things about Sahara and decided to check it out yesterday; and it exceeded expectations.

I had the beef kebab plate, while my mom and brother had the chicken kebab plate. We loved how they had complimentary snacks (olives, cheese, and cucumber) and also that the plate came with either soup or salad. The meat dishes were so flavorful and honestly the best we've had at any restaurant. They gave a lot of meat too; 8 pieces for each dish. The baba ghanoush was also great.

Last but not least, Mary, our server, was extremely pleasant and attentive. We can't wait to go back!“

“Amazing and well seasoned food. Comes out piping hot. It’s a small-to-medium sized restaurant with fast turnover. We had the luleh kobab and lamb kobab, which were both delicious. The bread is fresh and homemade.

The servers work extremely hard, but because of volume are not extremely attentive to any one table. They will take your order fast, but you have to have patience to get the bill.“

“I’ve gone to Rafo’s so many times and haven’t left a review. The chicken thigh sandwich is always so fresh, easy, and juicy. The chicken?! I’ve gotten it at least 5 times now. I had the chicken and beef lule plate once as well and the lule was also super tasty.“

We let them know we had to be out the door in 90 minutes for a show and they ensured we were fed a feast with time to spare. We did the family style - Hollywood Feast which was a lot of fun. “After waiting a long time while they did renovations they are open again and the food and service are excellent! I love what they did to the place.

The filet mignon was grilled perfectly and was so tender I was able to do cuts using a butter knife. The beet hummus was unique and flavorful. “This is probably my best middle east restaurant in Los Angeles. Today I prefer to eat boiled lamb with rice . I checked near me i found Yemen Kitchen. They charge you $38 at Raffi’s and Pardis for a kabob barg plate, give you the same amount of meat, and fill the plate with rice. Masis Kabobs’ food has no flavor; they don’t marinate their meat correctly and don’t cook their tomato enough, as it’s always mostly raw.
Harry over at Moon Mart Kabob gives you the best kabob, jigar, and abgoosht. If it’s you and a few friends, go over to Moon Mart Kabob, and you’ll realize why it’s so good, in my opinion. He charges you $20 for kabob barg, and he’s such a nice guy that you’ll be really happy eating there and giving him your business—not just because of his niceness, but also because he knows his stuff.“
