“Tried La Jolla Boba for the first time and overall had a good experience. The staff members provided quick service while keeping their friendly attitude when they served our drinks. I ordered the Strawberry Matcha and the Strawberry Shortcake Smoothie. The Strawberry Matcha provided a nice drinking experience because its matcha taste stayed delicate as it combined with strawberry flavors. The Strawberry Shortcake Smoothie was also good, creamy and refreshing.

The drinks maintained a consistent quality and the prices were reasonable at $7.50 each for the regular size. The shop was empty during my visit so I experienced complete silence while I relaxed there. A nice perk is that they vouch for parking, which makes stopping by more convenient in La Jolla.“

“Customer service was good . However, the food was hard and really cold.We ordered at 10pm on a friday night and got 2 of the 8combos. Maybe thats why? but I feel like at least the rice or the sauce should be warm but sadly it wasn't. I dont think ill get it at night time or in general. Also for one of it there was gyoza and one wasn't so my bf got super sad with his.

New visit:
I gave it a second chance and it was quite good! The drinks ofc was 10/10 and customer service. The food was 100 times better than last time. It was warm and had the good flavor for the curry and the short ribs. Also the salad that came with it was fresh and thr gyoza was hot and crunchy. I think it was just bad last yime since it was near closing time. If you are at ucsd or near you should definitely try!“

“If I could give this place 100 stars, I would. Where do I even start? The staff at Yomie’s Rice Yogurt have consistently gone above and beyond in assuring my boyfriend and I have the best, top quality, and absolutely most delicious authentic Chinese delicacy of a drink out within a very short amount of time. I plan to have Yomie’s Rice Yogurt catered to all my future birthdays and events. The usual cashier/barista (east asian, usually permed brown hair, and glasses) is incredibly friendly and nice. He always makes our drinks super quick and they’re always filled to the top with our added toppings of choice! He also lets newer customers know about how certain drinks taste and give customers advice on sugar level and drink toppings. They also have an incredibly amazing mural on the wall of hyper realistic white wings— definitely a tourist spot! This is my favorite place ever and a must try in San Diego for the amazing atmosphere, location, and above and beyond staff member. Thank you Yomie again for making Convoy plaza feel like home❤️ I bring all my friends here whenever I am in the area.“

Pricing was more normal than other places haha...boba was cooked well. Tea flavor could definitely be a bit stronger.

“reminds me of Taiwan, specifically a typical cafe in Gaoxiong, which is the most comparable place to SD in the US. It's spacious, comfortable (cushion for butts without cushion), family-friendly, pet-friendly, games for kids, a piano: it's basically a day-care center. The decoration is very DIY and neat, which is what really gave me Taiwan vibes. Yellow lights (I don't know why other shops use bright white office lights..) They know how to decorate on a budget. Clean bathroom. Clearly a family business. The owners are from Guangdong, but theyre quite different from the city people. Maybe San Diego slowed them down.. If this is the vibe of SD, I'm def lovin' it!

drinks are pricey, $6+ with boba. Boba isn't free. Standard milk tea is solid, but even at 30% sweetness, it's quite sweet. Egg puff for $5 is cute.

The service is very sweet, I’m lactose intolerant and I don’t want to have the non dairy creamer since it is usually not healthy. The staff told me the Matcha Genmai Green doesn’t have milk in it and the strawberry matcha can add oat milk instead. I chose Genmai green with 25% sugar and pistachio milk foam. Milk foam usually doesn’t bother me since it’s really little amount and processed, the staff double confirmed with me about the milk foam which was really considerate. The drink was really really strong, really tea tastes straight forward! Probably it is the most tea flavor forwards drink I’ve ever had, it is delicious, intense and refreshing! If you love tea, you have to try this! Also the sugar level I chose 25% is right good, you almost didn’t taste the sugar, there’s a little sweetness in the green tea jelly. I think I’ll definitely recommend this place!“

You can customize your drink - no ice, less sugar,etc at no extra charge. It’s dangerous for my waistline but worth it. It’s a small shop and there’s not really an area to sit down to hang out. It’s more like an order and go kind place.“

This is my favorite boba place because the drinks are a good size, amazing taste, their boba tastes so fresh and never too sweet or chewy, and they always make my drinks consistently good. They have an easy rewards system and fast service. I love how they changed their closing time an hour later because it was the only thing I wish was different. But I have tried almost everything and I like it all! My favorites are the uji green milk tea, coco latte, camo thai, and strawberry tornado! I reccommend trying to add foam or oreo to ur drink to make it even better. So glad this place is also in SD.“

“We stopped by the Wushiland Boba in UTC while walking around the mall, and it was pretty good! Their menu is simple, and you can tailor the level of sweetener & ice when you order. The cashier recommended the orange (or was it grapefruit? I can’t remember lol) with yakult and it was delicious! If you’re a yakult fan, I highly recommend. “Came here for the nori fish sandwich because I saw Philip's TikTok. The fry was perfect and it tasted heavily of nori which I appreciate. It needs a little bit of acidity to cut the fatiness of the fish and sauce. Imagine if the onions were pickled instead then it would be perfect. The smell of the popcorn chicken in the air was all consuming but I was too full to order that one. The sesame milk was so grainy. That's probably expected but at the same time it probably shouldn't be made into a drink. It tastes like the inside of a sesame ball so it tasted like too much after a couple sips. You definitely need to order it as 0% sweetness. The hojicha latte was pretty forgettable.“

Our cashier was kind and was very adorable, we appreciated her service. I got to indulge in a lavender matcha, it was amazingly made. My coworkers got different boba drinks and my partner got a chai latte which we all were satisfied with. I also enjoyed the environment, it had a sort of rustic coffee shop aesthetic to it.

I feel some reviews were harshly made and formulated with lack of understanding. We appreciate you Bon Cha, you’re doing great!

Please be aware this is in downtown San Diego, parking will always be a hassle anywhere you go.

Regarding unhoused individuals, it is not the establishments fault when people in need come in or are around, it happens to/at every establishment in downtown
