“I live out east nowadays, but I visit my hometown in La Mesa yearly. Came to Curbside for the first time last year, and just now went back again. I wish we had food like this around here when I was growing up!! My gosh, the short rib beef is incredible. Had it on a salad last time, and just now had the short rib taco along with an equally impressive fish taco. I got a few bites of the beef kebab too, and it was just as top-notch! Great seating options with a view of La Mesa Blvd. Good beer list too. And wonderful staff. I wish I had more time to try more of the menu—but I’ll be back every time I’m in San Diego down the line. “They changed their vegan gardein chicken for the wings and the orange chicken entrée and it's just not as good. A huge bummer since we've been enjoying those dishes for years with no problems. The new stuff has texture issues and doesn't cook as crispy. Thankfully they have other vegetarian options and a great beer list so we'll continue going, just probably not as much as we used to.“

“Happy Hour at Artifact is the highlight of my week! I always look forward to those afternoons when I can wrap up an early day at work and walk over to unwind.

Kendra and Kelly are the best—they always greet me warmly and, knowing sparkling rosé is my go-to, pour a glass right after saying hello. The ambience is light and relaxing, and the conversation is consistently pleasant and entertaining—it’s the perfect way to transition from work mode to relaxation.

All of the food here is absolutely delicious, but the ahi crudo and beet salad are my favorites. They’re fresh, flavorful, and never disappoint.

Artifact has mastered the art of creating a welcoming, delicious, and enjoyable happy hour experience. Highly recommend!“

The Mexican Caesar with a side of fries is the BEST light lunch or dinner. I keep coming back for it.

“Loved our lunch at Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar at the Fashion Valley Mall! Such relaxing vibes, it feels like you’re on vacation. We had to get the frozen pina colada and Mai tai to match the vibe. We decided to do just appetizers and were very pleased with our choices of ahi tuna tacos, coconut shrimp, steak flatbread, and chicken tacos. Very friendly and accommodating service. Dog friendly. “My wife and I went to this cozy place for dinner based on a recommendation. GOOD CALL! Our server was pleasant and checked in on us to make sure we were happy. The food was delivered fast and hot. We shared the 16 oz. T-bone steak. It came out pre cut, ready to share. We also ordered a wonderfully great big salad and a wonderful empanada with beef. The empanada was pleasantly spicy, but not overly. The steak came with lovely potatoes. We also ordered a side of broccolini. I’m not a big veg guy, but I have to say the broccolini was delicious. All said the meal wasn’t the cheapest, but was worth every bite.“

“I love this place , The Beer is good and cold ! The Brisket is the best for me , nice and juices, never dry w/ just a touch of char that gives it the best taste ever ! The portions seem like there smaller but I blame covid and all the other things that have gone on in our country, like the cost of living anymore is getting bad, we feel it and I'm sure the management feels it to ! And trust me ,Phil's is good but, Cali has it beat hands down !

“I am late to reviewing and forgetting the servers name. She was from Maryland, and the reason we ordered more than just a pick me up coffee before the Japanese Friendship Gardens. Our server (delightful as can be and a great conversation partner) encouraged us to try the Spicy Calamari and Aquachile. It's not the best flavor pairings with coffee. So, stick with a bubbly libation when ordering these delightful dishes. The flavors, however, are divine. Fresh ingredients that remain high quality! We enjoyed a table overlooking the gardens and lucked into it without a reservation. Although, I recommend reserving in advance for optimal seating and table assurance.“

“This place was a great find for us while visiting San Diego. Excellent service and the staff were friendly, attentive and went above and beyond to serve us the best they can. Everything we ordered was fresh, made to perfection and had a unique touch. The food was the star of the show despite their staff setting a very high bar already.

We ordered their chicken wings, the best I ever had. Hands down! We also got the baja lobster roll and baja alfredo pasta with chicken - both were excellent. We finished our meal with chocolate lava cake and vanilla ice cream that was exquisite! All in all an amazing dinner. We would definitely visit whenever we’re in San Diego.“

“Perfect place to grab food before catching a show at the Civic Center. A lot of other customers had the same idea too so the place was a bit busy.

The service was quick and the food was good. I would say it's elevated bar food. Everything was tasty and our group enjoyed what we ordered. No complaints from anyone.

I ordered the Peach Tom Collins and I think they forgot the peach puree. It was clear so no puree there. I did ask the waitress and she confirmed that it was indeed the Peach Tom Collins. It was a disappointment so don't waste your money on it.

The shrimp tacos were delicious. The fish tacos were good too but I like the flavor of the shrimp tacos more.
The wet burrito was humongous. It came with both red and green enchilada sauce. The red enchilada sauce was better imo.

We also love the big loaded nachos. That was a great choice for our appetizer to share between the four of us.“

“I got the soy chorizo burrito with breakfast potatoes and a mimosa. There's some other veggie options like a veg omelette, a wrap, chilaquiles, impossible burger, and some other things. Coffee and drink selection looks good. There's a nice little patio outside I sat in. There's a few 1 hr reserved spots in the parking garage for this place. Definitely a nice morning treat for myself.

“The happy hour is 1000% worth it. The shredded beef slides were filled with a good portion of protein and you can't beat the drink prices. Everything was great except the server consistently trying to close us out. We were a group of four girls catching up and couldn't help but feel she was trying to get us in and out. I would definitely go again, but if service is the same, I wouldn't recommend it to people trying to enjoy a relaxing, social outing.“
