Restaurantji's guide to La Palma's top Mexican dining experiences.
“I have tried a variety of items on the menu. A few of my favorites include the Al pastor nachos , caldo de pollo, torta de milanesa and the chicken tacos de canasta. You can’t go wrong with anything you choose. Irene and Jose are both really nice and will accommodate most requests.“
“This place reminds me of the amazing restaurants in the city of Mexico (MCDC, something). The ambiance is clean, cool and collected. I love the lighting, the design of every corner. Exceptional vibe. The drinks are all carefully crafted and taste delicious. The food is unique and has its own twist on traditional can dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant for a fun date night or to take clients out.“
“The food was delicious. I tried the steak, pork, and chicken tacos. My favorite was the steak. The steak was so good that I went back to try the steak quesadilla. That did not disappoint either. The only reason I gave the atmosphere an average score was that the place was very busy, and the table turnover was a bit slow.“
“This hole in the wall in an old smallish strip mall is a true gem. Wonderful food, presentation and service. Their prices bring me back to the year 2010’s. Definitely a place I will visit again and recommend to family and friends. And good coffee – it tasted well without sugar or cream!“
“Hands down the best birria tacos and fusion shawerma I've ever had. I might as well pitch a tent outside.Ivan provided great customer service and helped me pick exactly what I needed off the menu. Definitely coming back here to try the rest.“
“I was on a delivery call out to Artesia and after driving for over an hour to get here I got hungry so I looked at my surroundings and as far as restaurants go there were slim pickings, but out of the corner of my eye I saw this Mexican restaurant across the street from the fast food place I was going to settle for.I'm glad I looked around because I discovered gold!I've been to many Mexican restaurants all over LA county and this one is in my top 3 from hundreds of others. The food is original and the flavors really come through onto your palate.I could taste the fresh chicken inside my enchiladas, I could taste the freshness of the green sauce, I could taste the lemon on the onions that topped my enchiladas, I could even taste which chiles they used for the hot sauce they brought with my chips while I waited for my food. Everything had its own flavor but it was a compilation of true freshness that can only be achieved when you truly value your craft and this amazing restaurant is head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to honest, fresh, and flavorful Mexican food!If I lived nearby I would eat here 3 to 4 times a month. The variety of dishes gives you so many options it's impossible to repeat the same dishes in 30 days! LOL.I loved the atmosphere within his family friendly and I definitely loved the food. You can trust me on this, Oaxaca Village is as authentic as going to a Mercado in Guadalajara or a Fonda in Huatulco.Get here as soon as you can, you'll thank me later.Parking: A few stores in this little strip mall but you can also go around the building to find more parking.“
“Decided to check this place out based on reviews. I wasn't disappointed. Got the California Burrito, and it's huge. Ended up sharing with my roommate, and he absolutely loved it. The service was amazing, and the lady that helped us was very friendly and patient. Im definitely coming back, and going to try more of the menu. Definitely recommend!!“
“I'm so glad I found you. Amazing, fresh, hot tacos to order. Salsa bar with spicy salsas and chopped jalapeños, green salsa, red salsa and marinated onions. You can't beat the prices either. Let me tell you about the fish tacos Wow so flavorful and seasoning is right on it! The shredded beef crispy tacos of my Dreams complete with sour creme, cheese, lettuce and guacamole they are the Best! Carnitas are a Deal Maker the Flavor cannot be matched so delightful, I cannot wait to return. Taco Grill you are a Gem.“
“Before traveling to L.A. I googled best places to eat. Tacos LA Carreta was one of the suggestions. So after a full day of activities we decided to give it a try. Thank goodness we did! Best Tortas and tacos I ever had!! We will definitely make this a go-to for sure.“
“I've been searching for the perfect bean & cheese burrito and I think these guys pretty much have it. Choose black beans or refried, you can't go wrong. They'll offer to grill it for you (a must) and you can get a variety of salsas to go with. The salsa here really is special - try as many as you can!“

“I'm blessed with five BFF's for the past 50 years and we have celebrated each other's birthdays together for all of these years! So my bestie Jeri chose Amor Y Tacos for our outing today too celebrate her 59th birthday It was all of our first time too this restaurant and the funny thing is that it is 10 minutes from my home and I didn't even know. Well from the moment we arrived the waitress was delightfully sweet and the atmosphere was warm and friendly and casually welcoming. The waitress Kristin V., who was assigned to our table was very friendly and helpful plus had great menu suggestions which made us feel welcomed All of the food was delicious and tasty and the cocktails were even better. Then to top it off the dessert was so good Horchata Ice Cream and Churros so delicious The only issue we all had was the restaurant did not supply Chips and Salsa at this Mexican restaurant too our surprise ? so we had to purchase some which is not usually the case at an Mexican restaurant ??♀️??♀️ But I'm sure I will be back with my husband since it's near my house and priced reasonably well. Thank you to Kristin for outstanding customer service she should be applauded for that extra measure of care we truly appreciated it thank you.“
“Parking: Parking is difficult during lunch hour. I have seen long line of cars waiting along the street and we decided not to wait in line. They do have an attendant to show you where you are able to park, but to maneuver the car into the slot is tricky. The main parking spaces are behind those ruined car wash stalls. With that said, their food is delicious, and the portion is generous.“
“Great spot, thanks Yelpers! The mans and I were doing some thrifting in LB and needed a bite and we settled upon this spot and I'm so glad we did. It was the perfect vibe for us. Not crowded and the music wasn't too loud so you can actually hear your date. My boyfriend got the lasagna and it was delicious! I will order this next time. When I think of lasagne I want it to taste like this. And at $16, if also comes with a generous side salad and a side of garlic bread. I got the chicken Marsala ($20) and it came with a generous portion of chicken, sauce, homemade mashed potatoes and the most wonderfully sautéed asparagus. Yum! We will come back here for sure. We had such a lovely meal, we even decided to try the peach cobbler for dessert ($10). It was a big portion that came a la mode. We left happy and full and even had some leftovers. Our server was sweet and attentive. Keep on rockin Tony's! Now we see why you get such great reviews. We will be back soon.“
“BEST SPOT EVER! Everything is on point here. Workers greet you with the friendliest smile. Food is cooked to order. Never cold, never bland like other places. The Ambiance here is so chill and welcoming. With outside dinning. Highly recommend this spot to anyone! You can not go wrong“
“Great cocktails, excellent creative dishes, beautiful space. Has free parking across the street. Would be packed if it were in a fancier neighborhood or in LA. Hope more people in LB discover it!Vegetarian options: Definitely enough vegetarian options to get by, all quality.Parking: Street parking is usually tight, but there is reserved off street parking in a lot across the street that I've never seen full.“
“I don’t eat cheese — it makes my face break out. So I ordered a meal without cheese, and ordered that way, the flavor wasn’t great. I told my waiter (one of the Rivera family), and he wanted to bring me something else. I looked at him carefully to see if he meant it, and I could tell that he did.I told him I would think about it. When he came back, I told him I was thinking about the beef enchiladas, but worried that without the cheese, it wouldn’t be that good. He assured me that they would be flavorful. I said ok, and took them to-go.I’ve just eaten the beef enchiladas, and he was absolutely right: they were “¡Rico!”I enjoyed the food, appreciated the recommendation, and I’m now happy about the fact that the server insisted on getting something for me that I found delicious.I can’t imagine how tough it is to run a successful restaurant, and I feel they went above and beyond to make me happy. And the 3 Leches cake is also the bomb! I’ve only ever had 2 of them that were this good (in probably 30 years)!“
“By far the best califries you can get and the best churros.Califries are amazing cause you can pick 2 meats. They have a wonderful bean and cheese burrito. I enjoy that they have pickled carrots and jalapeño, beans, cucumber and a variety of salsas.“
“This place was amazing! We live in San Diego, came to anaheim for Disney and were looking for a good spot to eat. Luckily we found this place. The server Miguel Angel treated us like family and made us feel so welcome. The food was delicious and the hot chocolate was the best I've ever had. Highly recommend you try this place, oh and it was under 100$ for 5 adults and we left stuffed.“
“Came on a Friday afternoon. Found 30 min parking out front. Greeted by friendly staff who allowed me time to look over their pretty simple menu. ORDERED: + pollo burrito ($10.50) -- 9/10 some pieces of pollo meat in the burrito gave beefy jerky texture vibes, but other than that it had really good flavor. + bean and cheese burrito ($9.25) -- 10/10 "it was delicious" is what I was told. + iced tea Ran $22 dollars with tip! OVERALL: Prices are reasonable for the portion size. I would like to see consistency in the cooking of their meat. Lastly, I would return again if I were in the area and try other menu items.“
“My friend came from Tijuana to visit me ??♂️ and we found this amazing place?? NEW LOCATION, the food is amazing, VEGETERIAN NO PROBLEM i was really happy with the food, service is very friendly and they speak spanish tooI highly recomend this place?IOVE IT“
“My wife and I came with friends and had dinner and drinks. I had the Berrian burrito and it was fire. The Palomar were amazing too. I wanted to drink more but couldn't cause I was the dd. The atmosphere was very lively. They have a DJ playing all kinds of music which made us want to dance. Their is a dance area and bar. I will definitely come back here for dinner and drinks.“
“High five to Linda's for another great dish! This morning was the menudo and it was pretty much perfect! Only thing missing was a piece of of pata but not sure if they offer here and I forgot to ask. Can't wait to come back and try a different dish. So far all their caldos/soups have been amazing!!! Cute little family run restaurant! #eatlocal“
“As entreprenuers we travel the world and the unknown and get to have great experiences with people. Today we visited World Famous Grill in Downey and Hassan was the perfect gentleman. He helped us with a Kabob Combo Plate with hummus, rice salad and pita bread along with their famous Western Burger which was monstrous and delicious. Our daughter was also able to order chicken nuggets and fries as well. We appreciate these small businesses opposed to all the BIG corporations who usually say no to us asking for food. Thank you again World Famous Grill.“
“I love Taconazo, but today there was a problem. I ordered two shrimp tacos, no onions, but when my tacos were brought to my table, they had onions. I told the server, who was also the person that took my order, that my tacos had onions. He said. "No, they don't." I took some onions out of the taco that were clearly on top of the tacos and showed him. He took my plate and said he would be back. When my tacos came again, they weren't shrimp tacos. They were fish tacos. I don't very much like fish but I ate them because it was late and I hadn't eaten all day. Now, I'm home, and my stomach hurts. I hope next time they'll get my order right. And don't get the Jamaica. It was tasteless. It was water with some additive. Not real, Jamaca, nasty stuff. Sorry, Taconazo, but you have to do better.Vegetarian options: They serve rice, beans, and potatoe tacosParking: finding a parking spot is sometimes difficult, and the parking is tight.“
“Best Mexican food around!!! We tried this place for the first time and it definitely wont be our last. The food was deeeelicious!! My chicken tacos were full of flavor and so tender. My hubby had shrimp and he said it was the best shrimp he ever had. The service was amazing too. Tawnya was so attentive to our needs. I would definitely recommend and will be back for sure“
“Sarahi’s Mexican Grill is a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Anaheim, and after my recent dining experience, I can confidently say it's a must-visit for any food enthusiast. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality, setting the stage for an unforgettable meal. The star of the show was undoubtedly the Tacos al Gobernador and the Molcajete with meat. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, showcasing the restaurant's dedication to authentic Mexican cuisine. We also had their parrillada. The freshness of the ingredients and the expert preparation truly made every mouthful a delight. But it's not just the food that shines at Sarahi’s Mexican Grill; the customer service is exemplary. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal. With its inviting ambiance and mouthwatering dishes, Sarahi’s Mexican Grill has earned a permanent spot on my list of go-to restaurants in Anaheim. Whether you're a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and make a reservation at Sarahi’s Mexican Grill. You won't be disappointed.“
“This review is long overdue! I had such a great experience at this location. I have been to the Brea location as well and this one is my favorite. The customer service is great and the food is delicious. I like to eat there because it's better fresh and it was nice and clean inside.“
“AH-MAZING! DELICIOUS! Pleasantly surprised. Can’t wait to go back. I went with 3 friends and we all loved it. What’s not to love with homemade tortillas, steak, cheese, guac and PERUVIAN BEANS!! So creamy and delish! MUST TRY! You won’t be disappointed.“
“The Birria is the best here! Super tender, so much flavor, and so many different varieties and ways they serve it. They do tacos, burritos, pizzas, ramen. It's so good! It's the most authentic birria spot I've ever had. We have came back so many times now and has been consistent every single time. Inside is small, but they also have seating outside as well. Service is consistently good as well, I believe it's a family ran business so come out, give it a try, and support a local business! You won't regret it.“
“Always eat local and support small businesses in my community.Today, I had the shrimp taco, and the flavors were mild, not overpowering. My friend had the El Burrito Ranchero. Also, I tried the ribs on takeout. They were falling off the bone. But I wish they could have used more seasoning. They offer their kale salad with a lot of their dishes, and it's really good. The owners are very kind service is always good.“
“As far as Orange County goes Morena's has been the greatest & well tasting goes, sorry first goes to me ?Was looking for a breakfast spot after some errands, passed by what we thought was the old Sunny's joint, saw the crowded dining area & decided to bust a youie & went in. Staff is on top of their game ?????? Can not wait to try more on their menu ? ?“
“This place was fantastic. The food tasted homemade and some of their items were unique in a good way. I loved their Machete and Agua Mineral preparada. The drink was super refreshing. I also tasted the green posole which had nixtamal instead of the canned hominy. I liked that instead of two plain tostadas they were garnished with veggies and refried beans. It makes a big difference in enjoying your pozole. I also sampled my husbands quesadilla which was also delicious. I like that they make their masa based items with fresh masa. It makes a difference over the already, refrigerated, stuff. If there is a complaint it's that you are practically sitting in the kitchen. The dining area is small. It might be best to do take-out. I suspect they will have to move to a bigger location. They hit it out of the park with this place!“
“I only been here for breakfast. I ordered the veggies omelet and comes with avocado. Most places charge extra. They have a salsa bar and they bring fresh chips to your table. On the weekends they have a live band. And they also take requests on music which is nice.Vegetarian options: So far I just order there veggies omelet and comes with fresh slices of avocado.Parking: Plenty of parking.Wheelchair accessibility: Is for wheelchairs.“
“Love the customer service and the delicious food! Tony did an excellent job with recommendations and his positive attitude made my visit outstanding!! The mix fish soup was full of a tasty variety of fish including scallops, octopus, and shrimp. The mojarra was fried to perfection and every bite was full of flavor.“
“Gourmet Mexican Cuisine. Love this place! Try the coffee, try the cheese taco and the mole fries and the salsa and chips... and... and ... and...Vegetarian options: Lots to enjoy... must try the cheese taco. The mole fries are amazing and I love their house salsa and chips. Their coffee is special. If you're a coffee lover, you will be craving it!“
“I honestly could go on and on about this taco spot. It came as a recommendation from the front desk we were staying in. We wanted as traditional as you can get mexican food and this place did not disappoint. A hidden gem next to food for less, there is nothing fancy about this spot. But we would come here every single time we come to anaheim. I ordered a carne asada vampiro (a crispy tortilla with melted cheese), a chorizo taco, and two al pastor tacos. Each one being better than the next. The grilled onions on the side were seasoned well with a little spiciness. There salsa bar had five different sauce options each one better than the next. Be aware, bring cash, they do take cards, but the prices differ if using a card. Highly, highly recommend.“
“Excellent all around. I have tried just about every taco on the menu and several other items as well. The carnitas and al pastor are my favorites in tacos. I tried the carnitas in a burrito once and it wasn't my favorite. I usually go with the Cali tacos as opposed to the traditional Mexican or the crunchy shell options although variety is good too. I wasn't crazy about the fish tacos, but the shrimp is good. The tamales were a touch expensive for what you get but they're tasty enough. The red sauce is spicier than the green but I think both are good. The red has a smoky flavor like it's chipotle dominant, the green seems more like a good tomatillo salsa with some citrus flavor.“
“TMTC catered my event 2/25/24. The response and customer service from when reached out to when they came onsite was above and beyond. They answered every question and were very accommodating and kind when I had changes to be made to my menu. Over the phone/online service was always friendly. I had a lot of changes with my menu requests and guest count and every time I reached out to make those changes they never made me feel like I was asking too much. The food was great. My guest enjoyed themselves Thank you for the amazing service“
“Yum Small little place. Great service. Great food! Reasonably priced Had the Queso Birria Chiva (goat) my daughter had the Res (shredded beef) fresh salsa bar their Green Party salsa was bomb! Server says "be careful soup is hot" consomé served in a tin cup like your camping ;) Super flavorful- not salty seasoned just right and you can tell has been prepared over time. Layers of flavor Little gem found! Highly recommend.“
“Parking: I'm so happy my girlfriend showed me this great restaurant. I have never come across another sit-down Mexican restaurant that offered free bean dip with their chips and salsa! What a tasty and great start to the meal.Had the combination plate with the chile relleno and my girlfriend had the enchiladas verdes. Both dishes were excellent in taste and quantity of food. Did not need more than 1 item for the combo to get full. They also do not skimp put on the delicious queso.Overall food quality, nice atmospheric vibe. I just loved the decor and entire dining experience. Will definitely recommend this spot to friends. Worth the visit.“
“Missed this place!!! It's been a while since I've been here and I can honestly say Los Sanchez is still the BOMB.. Ordered a Chile Relleno plate, Wet Bean and Cheese Burrito, and for myself a Chile Colorado Burrito.. Soooo good!!!“
“Great food, above average price. I got a wet burrito, chips and guacamole for $27.86, no drink. $9 of that was chips and guac, kinda wild, they were fine. I thought that was pretty high for this meal. In its defense it’s very tasty, but not unique. I can see why this place is popular. Tomatillo sauce is very good, not hot whatsoever despite it being labeled as spicy, still worth trying. The nachos I also tried but not pictured, they were honestly a bit of a let down. Maybe I didn’t get them fresh but they aren’t bad, but not as amazing as I’ve heard raved about. Overall I was satisfied with my meal.“
“Drove down from van nuys to try this place out with my two younger siblings, and I quote from two 16 year olds.. the most worth it thing ever haha the portions are great Liza made us feel right at home and when u say we were absolutely satisfied with everything you gotta try the asada hot Cheeto fries they are to die for and the lebamex sauce really brings everything together 10/10 you guys would make a killing in the valley Ali!!!“
“I love their food! They have the BEST flavors and the soups, salads, and all of the dishes are my favorites! The service is friendly and there are long-time employees because it is family owned. They also own K Pasta in the same center and also delicious!“
“As soon as I walked in, I was helped. I asked about the favorite thing on the menu for someone who is lactose intolerant lol he suggested the burrito. I opted for a tongue burrito. It was so so flavourful, tender, just well cooked. It was a very good burrito overall. I also bought 2 tamales. They have them everyday but they sell out. Whole in the wall eatery. I recommend this place. Beside the tasty food, u get really good service“
“Having been a loyal patron for years, I can confidently say that not only does this taco truck serve delicious food, but the staff is always incredibly nice and welcoming. Whether it's my go-to asada burrito or trying something new from their menu, the quality and service remain consistently excellent. I love it!“
“Nice restaurant, good food. Fresh Mexican food which I think it is lacking a real Mexi flavor. Very clean and well decorated. Staff are gentle and polite. A good neigborhood restaurant which seem like most customer are very local who live near by. I am the only one that passing by, I felt so!“
“I really like this small Mexican restaurant. The service is always great. The menu is large, including liquor and beers. Margaritas! We wish the salsa was a bit more spicier but it's freshly made and never leave a drop. We love all the decor inside, small place and clean. The entrees come with plenty of food, so you won't go home hungry. A nice stroll on the pier is worth it afterwards. We chose the chili Verde and huevos rancheros, full of flavor and meat. Will definitely order again. Their rice and beans are so good. Again this location is a short stroll to the Beach and shops. Enjoy!“
“La Capilla has the best chips and salsa! And, the Enchiladas Del Mar are delicious. Their purple margaritas are tasty. The service is consistently great. It's like going home for dinner each time we go there. I highly recommend this place.“
