“Hands down my family’s favorite place to eat in La Verne — WaBa Grill! 🍚🔥

I’ve been to other WaBa Grill locations, but this La Verne location is extra, extra clean. The restaurant is always spotless, and the food is consistently fresh and delicious every time we visit.
What really makes it special is the amazing staff and owner. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming with a smile which makes the whole experience even better.

If you’re in La Verne and looking for a healthy, tasty meal, this spot is definitely a go to!!

“I've been coming to this Legend Hot Chicken location for a while now, usually once every couple of weeks when the craving hits. What keeps me coming back is the consistency. Every single time the chicken comes out crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and the spice levels are actually distinguishable from each other, not just a vague gradient like some other hot chicken spots. My go-to is the sandwich at a medium-hot level with a side of fries, and it's never let me down. Staff are friendly and quick even during busier lunch hours. It's not a sit-down fancy experience by any means, more of a quick casual stop, but for what it's going for it nails the execution every time. If you're a fan of Nashville-style heat, this is a solid, reliable option.“

“The dragon fruit drink was delicious and had such a sweet taste. I really enjoyed it especially with it being my first ever order from WaBa grill. Also the server Emiliano was super kind and requested the best drink that’s I could have tried there !“

“There is only 1 nice guy manning the front and kitchen. I tried calling ahead but the phone wasn’t working. I left and came back after 30 min for 1 order of popcorn chicken but it wasn’t ready. The owner is not doing his or her job cheaping out on service. They are lucky to have this guy working here.“

He stated he gets for fries w/ medium heat. I got them with the chicken sandwich. The fried were good. Great choice. The chicken sandwich was good as well slightly drier then use to but good. “This little small Korean wings spot surprise me. I got the Korean barbecue spicy wings with fries. And the wings came out super crispy and flavorful. The fries that look really mid surprise me as well with this spices which again was very flavorful. I was looking for a new wings location and this is by far the best I’ve been to in all of I.E. I highly recommend this place if you love Korean wings.“

“Super friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere. The chicken was crispy and juicy. Salsas are definitely worth a try! Food was served straight to our table within 5-10 minutes after ordering. “It's located next to Mi Pulgarcito Pupiseria Salvadoreña and near GS Ethiopian Cafe. I had went to this plaza for another restaurant but they closed already for lunch. I decided to try this grilled chicken place, reminds me of Juan Pollo or El Pollo Loco. It seems family owned with a young teen taking my order.

I chose to try the 16 piece family special with half spicy and regular chicken ($44.99) which came with 4 large sides, tortillas and salsa. I chose their macaroni salad, potato salad, rice, and beans. I got a lunch special for myself that came with a can of soda. The seasoning on the chicken was good, the spicy chicken had a good heat. The skin was crispy and the chicken was moist. My family did not like the sides of macaroni and potato salad.

“This spot is by far my most favorite chicken joint. I have been coming here for the past decade and the food never ceases to amaze me. Each time I am brought to nostalgia despite the amount of different locations I have been to. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who wants to find a new spot.“

“My family picks up here at least once every week and I can’t say enough positive things about it. As a fitness nut, it’s important to me to have healthy options and so I often find myself ordering from chicken shops. Since discovering Rostichicken I have stopped going to other shops. The chicken here is fantastic and is very tender; I can pull the skin off to save calories or leave it on to enjoy the crispy skin. The price is also competitive and less than Pollo for higher quality food.

Additionally, the staff is fantastic. They are so welcoming and seemingly in a great mood. They remember me and my daughter, always encourage her to talk, and often give her extra rice which she loves. It all means a lot to myself and my wife but I assure you… I wouldn’t come back if the food was bad. 😉“

“We stopped by Rowland Heights on our way home from LAX and stumbled upon Hanshin Pocha off of Gale and Nogales, just north of the 60 freeway. There are plenty of eats in the area and we thought this would satisfy our hunger for something hot and satiable - and open late night!

After perusing their menu, I was drawn to the steamed egg and, likewise, the rest of our party wanted the same thing. We were only a party of 5 (4 adults + 1 child) so we thought we would order 2 of the steamed eggs and a couple other items. When we placed our order, the server questioned us why we ordered 3 and asked, “Are you sure?” We said, “Yes.” After bringing out all our orders, we understood why the server asked his question; the steamed egg dish was a huge portion!!! Whoa! It was really good especially since it was cold outside.

We also ordered other items to share like their chicken wings, calamari, and fries with chicken for the child in our party.

Parking can be tricky even in the late hours.

Overall, we enjoyed the food and the vibe here. It’s casual, a little loud, but we were all comfortable and enjoyed the ambiance.“

“I know this shop used to have a not so great reputation in the 90's early 2000's, but honestly this is my go to now for croissants, deep fried fish, and some other Chinese stuff on the side. They have variety as far as their food and I personally love their ham/cheese/jalapeño croissants and their maple bars. Fried fish and chicken is definitely solid compared to other chain restaurants. If you're a pomona local check them out and stop by for breakfast or lunch! ❤️“

“Teriyaki beef fries! We actually got the teriyaki beef and chicken fries for $16.50. I know the online menu says $18.50 but in the store it was $16.50 of course after tax and a $0.75 card fee it was just over $19 but whatever. The chicken is fine on its own but once you have the beef the chicken just sort of pales in comparison.

“My family Ordered the 16 piece Family meal with 4 Large sides and flour tortillas. We ended up choosing Legs and Thighs for the 16 piece meal, since non of us care for the dry chicken breasts anyway. For the sides we went with 2 Rice, 1 Mash potatoes with gravy, and 1 Coleslaw. The flour tortillas were really tasty, fresh and soft. Everything was really good yesterday for a family dinner for 5 people including my sister’s husband. We had some leftovers even better. Very friendly and consistent service. Honestly our favorite El Pollo Loco near us, as we have been ordering from this location for about 20 plus years now.“

“I started going to this Waba Grill pretty recently when passing through the area, and I gotta say, it's my favorite one to go to! By far the cleanest one, my food is served quickly with the correct portions, and all in all I could tell people work efficiently around here. The last few times I went, I was served by Jaime and Alex; I've had different vibes from different workers across different locations, but I feel I get the best vibes when coming here and when I've been served by these two! 5/5 would recommend pulling up if you're in the area.“
